my uncle was asking me about this, becuase he wanted to know if he should for his son.. should he?
Complete Information on Choroideremia
Choroideremia is an uncommon inherited disorder that causes liberal departure of imagination payable to degeneration of the choroid and retina. Choroideremia is a X-linked recessive retinal degenerative disease. It occurs nearly solely in males. In childhood, night blindness is the almost popular best symptom. As the disease progresses, there is departure of imagination, often starting as an improper gang that gradually expands both in toward key imagination and out toward the utmost fringe. In childhood, night blindness is the almost popular best symptom. There is departure of incidental or side imagination.
Choroideremia is genetically passed through families by the X-linked form of heritage. In this character of heritage, the gene for the disease is located on the X chromosome. Females have two X chromosomes and can transport the disease gene on one of their X chromosomes. Because they have a robust edition of the gene on their new X chromosome, carrier females typically are not affected by X-linked diseases such as juvenile retinoschisis. Sometimes, however, when carrier females are examined, the retina shows insignificant signs of the disease. Males have simply one X chromosome and are thus genetically vulnerable to X-linked diseases.
Males cannot be carriers of X-linked diseases. Males affected with a X-linked disease ever give the gene on the X chromosome to their daughters, who so get carriers. Affected males never give a X-linked disease gene to their sons because fathers give the Y chromosome to their sons. Female carriers have a 50 percentage opportunity of passing the X-linked disease gene to their daughters, who get carriers, and a 50 percentage opportunity of passing the gene to their sons, who are so affected by the disease. Choroideraemia is diagnosed with a combination of ophthalmic testing, visual area examination, and electroretinography.
Unfortunately, no treatment is presently available. Investigators are now developing a gene therapy for evaluation in animal studies. Personal, educational and vocational counseling, as well as adaptive training skills, job placement and income assistance, are available through community resources. Antioxidant vitamin supplement as needed; regular intake of dietary omega-3 very-long-chain fatty acids, including docosahexaenoic acid; cataract surgery as needed for posterior subcapsular cataract; low vision services as needed; counseling as needed to help cope with depression.
Diary of a Spread Bettor – Week 29
Thursday 3rd December
I got to my six-year-old daughterâs school just in time to watch her Christmas production of Jack Frost still thinking about Arsenalâs terrible performance at City the previous night. My £150 sell of supremacy at 0.6 had resulted in a £360 loss on a game I hadnât even watched.
Anyway, Phoebe was brilliant dressed as a penguin and her Michael Jackson dance was equally impressive. She had a pillow round her waist and looked alarmingly like me! However, man of the match definitely had to go to Jack Frost himself who sang two solos at the age of just seven. In fact, he did just about everything⦠I would have like to have bought his player performance.
Friday 4th December
I tipped a few people a Brian Meehan trained two-year-old in Lingfieldâs 1.15pm contest and it was backed from 4/5 to 3/10. Embarrassingly, Fashion Insider finished second and I was sent a few text messages that cannot be printed here.
I didnât have a penny on it because it was far shorter than I thought it would be, but that doesnât make tipping up one of the shortest priced flat losers of the year any better. I also chose not to buy £10 of Manyriverstocross at 16 on the index in Sandownâs 2.00pm contest as a similar bet on the same horse at Ascot a few weeks ago had cost me â obviously it hosed in and the £340 would have paid for my Carling Cup debacle a few nights earlier.
Anyway, my only bet of the day came in Lingfieldâs 2.25pm race where I bought £20 of Red Somerset on the index at 6. A good source told me that he was really well fancied by his stable from his good draw and would race prominently before taking over in the straight. Well, he missed the break and only swept past one of the other nine runners in the straight. Another £120 down the drain⦠wow, Iâm in red hot form at the moment.
Saturday 5th December
I headed to the Gloucester v Newcastle Guinness Premiership game with my punting confidence at an all-time low. Iâd been told by one very good source to get with the home side giving up the points and by another to get with Newcastle. I had a feeling that whatever I opted to do would be wrong!
Well, my first bet of the day was a disaster. I bought the well fancied Nycteos on the index for Sandownâs 12.55pm race and rang up to listen to the commentary in the car. It wasnât mentioned for the entire race and I only found out later that Ruby Walsh unseated at the second hurdle. Yes, you read that right, HURDLE! I was £160 down and had probably paid about £4 in commentary line bills to listen to my loose horse canter around Sandown without a jockey!
However, my luck changed immediately after I missed Somersby winning the Henry VIII Novicesâ Chase. First of all, Twist Magic won the Tingle Creek and my £200 win at 7/2 ante-post paid some of my recent transgressions (in the punting sense rather than the Tiger Woods sense!).
I had also bought Gloucester supremacy for £20 at 7 and they went in at half-time with a 4 point lead so things were beginning to look up. Then came Ericâs Charm! My £20 buy at 14 on the index was rewarded with the maximum £720 return⦠I was back! The Gloucester Old Spot sausage (thatâs not some Tiger Woodseque sexual innuendo!) suddenly tasted that much better.
Back to the game and despite a last minute Newcastle try, Gloucester ran out comfy 12 point winners and I trousered another £100. A long drive home and and even longer dinner party followed, but I didnât mind, I was back in the Winners Enclosure.
Sunday 6th December
Sadly, my spell in the said Winners Enclosure didnât last for that long. Mr Invincible (Iâve also been described as Mr Incredible before⦠not sure whether thatâs because Iâm extremely strong or because Iâve got a large belly and a nose you can catch fish with!) was suddenly not so invincible! Morgan Be was beaten a mile (quite literally) in the Borders National and In Compliance found one too good in the John Durkan Memorial. Anyway, the pair cost me £210 and even though I nicked £140 by selling goals in the Fulham v Sunderland game, the same bet cost me £170 in the Spurs game. Thank God Defoe missed the penalty late on or it could have been even worse.
Monday 7th December
No real bets to report as most of the day (and night) was spent at the Derby Awards Lunch in London. Sea The Stars and his connections won just about everything⦠if theyâd entered the Photographer of the Year Award they may have won that too! The highlight of the event was without doubt the Lifetime Achievement Award given to Barry Hills. He has been desperately ill and the whole room stood in appreciation for at least 5 minutes. There wonât be a racing punter out there who hasnât ever won a few quid on one of his runners over the last four decades and he really is a living training legend.
The drunken man who sat next to me on the train home certainly wasnât a living legend though. By the end of the journey I wished he wasnât living at all⦠he needed a good bath and a solid thumping⦠in whatever order he wanted.
Tuesday 8th December
Phoebeâs 6th Birthday and I was in a mad scramble to get home for her birthday party after a few meetings in London. More importantly, I had the six packets of smarties that made up the dress on her Barbie cake. My wife had made a chocolate cake and shoved half a Barbie in the top to make it look like a dress. Sadly, without the smarties, the whole structure looked more like blonde woman sinking in quick sand! She was sunk to her waste before Mr Incredible arrived to give the dress the colours it was so desperate for.
The party went well, but not as well as Cardiff against the Baggies. I paid for at least 286 packets of smarties by selling £100 of the Baggiesâ supremacy, but gave a bit back by selling £100 of goals in Chelseaâs 2-2 draw.
Wednesday 9th December
Just paid £60 for a dead tree â Christmas is fast approaching. Decorated the tree with the kids whilst keeping an eye on the Champions League and Newcastleâs game at Coventry. I sold £100 of Olympiakos/Arsenal at 0.35, £100 of Barcelona/Kiev at 0.9 and £100 of Newcastle/Coventry at 0.5. Well, after all it is the season to beat jollies! (Iâm sorry, thatâs brilliant, if I donât say so myself).
Q&A with Manic Attack Pictures
Co-founded by Christopher Burke and Tommy Walsh in 2007, Manic Attack Pictures has provided Openfilm with one of its most distinctive comedy channels. Heavily influenced by the characters and eccentricities of the Jersey Shore, the Manic Team combines gross-out humor and suburban satire with a glossy visual style that’s all but unfamiliar to viewers of Web-based comedy. Tommy Walsh spoke with Openfilm about Manic Attack and where the filmmakers get their inspiration.
You and Chris have been working together for almost 10 years. Talk about some of the work you did before you started Manic Attack Pictures.
We both started out in New York as actors. We were in the same theater companies around town, and we did a lot of theater in NYC before starting to get serious about writing and making movies. Our first project was a feature film called Shooting Johnson Roebling, which we will be streaming on ManicAttack as well as other online platforms later this year. Roebling was a beast of a project. We spent two years writing and raising and saving money. It took an additional two years and 45 days of shooting to finally complete. We almost drove each other insane with the hours we were putting in. It was pretty crazy, but we finally got it done and premiered it at the Hoboken International Film Festival in June 2007. We took it to three additional festivals: The Indie Gathering in Cleveland, The Red Bank International Film Fest in Red Bank, NJ, and The Independent Features Film Festival at the Tribeca Cinemas in NYC. We learned so much from the entire process.
Talk about the writing process. Do you guys prefer scripted comedy or improvisation?
We definitely like to have a scripted outline of where we want to go. All of our actors are such good improvisers that it’s exciting to see what they will come up with next. The downside to non-scripted material is that it makes the editing process much more difficult. The improv-based work is better for our shorter content, but when we start dealing with the Web series and longer form, we always like to have that scripted. But we’re open if an actor comes to us with an idea about what they may like to add or change. We’re not that anal when it comes to our written word.
Bob Manus is surely a god among men. Tell us about Bob.
Bob Manus is in a league of his own. Bob has been a New York performer for all of his adult life. He had a small role in the cult classic The Warriors, and co-wrote the film The Force Within. He has been doing theater in NYC, and has written many stage plays. Bob can make pretty much anything funny. We’re lucky to be able to work with him.
Mommy Menthol is one of my favorite shows. Where did this character come from?
Mommy Menthol was inspired by a woman driving a car on Shrewsbury Avenue in Red Bank, NJ. She was smoking with the windows up, and her daughter was in the back in a car seat, inhaling all the smoke. I pulled up alongside them in my car with my friend, Matt Crowley, and it was after a long day of shooting, and we were both fried, so I just started pretending to be her and riffing. Matt started laughing and there it was. I think what Christopher, Casey (Webb) and I do is basically see if we can make each other laugh, and if that works, we know it’s funny. We’re not ones to give reassuring laughter to each other. If we make each other laugh, we go for it.
Some of Mommy’s backstory is fleshed out in the first season, but what else can you tell us about her?
Mommy is a mystery even to me. She isn’t without redeeming qualities, though. Mommy’s problem is that she thinks she doesn’t have choices. She’s uneducated, and she blames her children for her unhappiness. Truth is, she’s just not that happy being herself. She feels money will solve everything, and we all know that’s not true. The funny thing about her is that she thinks she’s pretty, which is where a lot of the jokes come in.
What do you do to get into character when you’re playing Mommy?
I usually just start improv-ing with other cast and crew members while Lindsey Novotny, our makeup artist, is working her magic. I like to be around people and test stuff out on them. If I can make the crew laugh, then I know I’m headed in the right direction. If not, I better go find some energy. That’s pretty much it. I don’t require that people refer to me as Mommy on set. That would actually be quite frightening.
Who are some of your comedic influences?
A lot of our influences are pulled from many places for different reasons. The Coen Brothers and Farrely Brothers both use the camera and editing to get a lot of their comedy across, and for the lunacy of the short-form “sketch” format, you can’t beat Monty Python, or SNL’s first cast, “The Not Ready for Prime-Time Players.” A lot of really smart comedians like George Carlin and Bill Maher, too, in-your-face guys like Sam Kinison. We grew up on Howard Stern every morning. Then there are the bad ‘80s movies and television shows that were not supposed to be funny at the time, but ultimately made us laugh. (I’m pretty sure Eight is Enough was not a comedy.) But really, the biggest influences were those around us growing up on the Jersey Shore. Older brothers and sisters, the culture that is the Jersey Shore, is great fodder for laughs. Our families, growing up in the ‘80s, the list is endless. Like I said before, if we can make each other laugh, we’ll go for it. If it ends up making others laugh, then that’s a bonus!
Many of your movies, especially I Deserve It and Katie the Coked-up Waitress, are very aesthetically pleasing. Talk about why the technical side is important when doing comedy.
I don’t think the technical side can be removed from the equation when speaking about comedy or drama. Overall, it’s just too important to overlook. Making comedy look good was never an issue until everyone was able to afford a video camera and post their stuff to the Net. Now it seems that the “norm” is to see a funny video with really terrible production value. It’s accepted, and maybe even to a point expected a little. I think that we see ourselves first and foremost as filmmakers, rather than comedians or a sketch comedy group. We like to incorporate camera movement, slashes of light for mood, fill the frame with interesting things to look at other than the subject. We like to create little films the best way we can, and make them look the best that they can be. I guess there are some “technical” tricks to editing comedy, but it really depends on the specific piece, and the approach we took to shoot it. We try to change up our angles, camera moves, etc, from one video to the next so that each one has its own identity.
What are your hopes for Manic Attack Pictures?
I think that we are realizing our hopes for Manic Attack Pictures in small doses every day. Our intention when we started was to become a full-service digital studio that can deliver you a product from concept all the way to a marketing strategy, and we are doing just that, with every project, whether big or small, that we come up with.

The Biggest Secret in Sausages
In 1956, Fred Voll, a Master Sausage Maker, and his wife Kathe moved to Madison from Schweinfurt, Bavaria. Fred worked for Red Owl for awhile and then decided that he wanted to be free to make his sausages in his own way. He bought some land near Madison, Wisconsin and opened the first Bavaria chalet in 1961.
His family recipes from the Old World and dedication to quality produced German bratwurst, knackwurst, nurnbergs, weisswurst, schnitzel, and many other authentic German specialties that would make Sergeant Schultz proud.
The second generation of wurstmachers, Fred and Käthe’s daughter and son-in-law, Judy Voll-Cottrell and Steve Cottrell, are carrying on the tradition, bringing with them a new perspective and new ideas. One thing, however, has never changed. All their recipes are still mixed by hand using traditional spices and authentic seasonings. Judy was quick to point out, “We still stay to the strict quality we started with: no fillers, no additives, no MSG. We are still natural hickory smoked, everything is the same. The product is as lean as it was. He (Fred, who is retired but still actively involved) doesn’t change his recipes for anybody.”
Sausage is the house specialty but Bavaria sausage is about so much more. Filling the cases along with the sausages is an impressive collection of liverwursts, salamis, schinken (ham), and sandwich and specialty meats. Complementing all that is a nice selection of imported and domestic cheeses, including Cheddars aged by Bavaria Sausage up to ten years. A perfect example of their commitment to authentic products is their Black Forest hams. Judy says, “We’re the only one in the United States that makes the true Schwarzwald Schinken. It takes four months of smoking, starting with a 24-pound ham.”
As if that weren’t enough, a recent visit to their store yielded a culinary treasure trove. In addition to their meats, I was able to peruse shelves of baked goods, pretzels (both hard and soft), cabbages ands krauts, candy from gummy bears to marzipan to liquor-filled chocolates, curry ketchups, mustards, spaetzle, preserves, spices, soups, and much more. Especially intriguing is their ready-made frozen selections for those who want a good German meal at home but don’t have the time to prepare it themselves. Try the sauerbraten; you owe it to yourself.
You can get your German food one of three ways. You stroll into their retail store for the total experience, phone or fax your order in, or visit their easy, comprehensive website. Unlike other mail order or online stores, Bavaria sausage only charges you the actual cost of shipping. They’ll pick the best method to ensure you get your order in good shape.
Bavaria’s bread and butter for many years was wholesale business. They were, and continue to be, a prime supplier for many restaurants, ball parks, grocery stores, and private labels for other retail chains. However, in recent years there has been a shift to Internet and mail order sales. Judy thinks this is in large part due to Wisconsinites who have moved away but want a taste of home as well as visitors to the state who were hooked and now need a fix of Badger State cuisine. For you hunters out there, Bavaria sausage processes wild game, a service they’ve offered for over 50 years. They accept all kinds of wild game including deer, elk, bear, antelope, wild boar, mule deer, caribou, and moose. They are a sausage kitchen so they will not butcher your game and accept only clean, lean, de-fatted meat with no bones. What they do with that meat is as varied as it is delicious. They can turn your meat into five different kinds of summer sausage, double smoked wheel sausage, eight different brats, ring bologna, wieners, breakfast sausage, liver sausage, and landjager. If none of that appeals, you can also have it ground or canned for future use.
If fish or fowl is more your thing, Bavaria sausage will let your game rest in a mild brine for around five-six days to keep them moist and then smoke them to perfection. They freeze your game to preserve moisture and flavor. Best of all, the turnaround time is only 7 to 10 days. As with any truly great establishment, it’s the people who work there that really make the difference. The Bavaria Sausage staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. “We’re big into customer service,” explains Judy, “I don’t hesitate if I get an email from someone who has a question or had a problem with shipping to call someone on Sunday or at night and they’re shocked that a person is actually calling them.” That kind of desire to take care of the customer carries over to everything Bavaria Sausage does. You don’t have to be from Berlin or Heidelberg to appreciate and use the more than 1000 items that Bavaria Sausage has to offer. They give the experienced German food aficionado a valuable resource and the others the chance to get their feet wet in a varied and flavorful cuisine. Either way, you’re in for a major treat. As the Germans say, “Guten Appetit!”

Terrorisim in India
Terrorisim in India
TERRORISM could be the best tool or toy the arrogant states could employ to terrorize innocent people. It has become an international norm to emulate the Western and Indian media reporting and make analyses strictly according to their mindsets; any deviation or diversion from the “usual” ways is resisted and badly condemned by their global agents. My views not conforming to Indian or US media modes are, therefore, have not been digested by a few select Hindu friends who other wise read me regularly wherever I manage to get them published. On Mumbai terrorism, some of the criticism made by them is as horrible as the terrorist acts themselves. They are unable to stand my stubbornly refusing to attack Pakistan as the Indian and US media religiously do, or as the Israeli media elaborately decode the “Islamic terrorism” in their own ways. From the expressions these Indians make about my observations on Mumbai Nov26 reveal a possibility that some of them have just escaped from some mental hospital without completing the treatment. I only pity them.
Indians have again proved they are the best chess players and the high precision shooters. Most probably, the Indian strategists and media were keen to trace the terror links freedom fighting Kashmiris and to trap some more “Afzals” under Mumbai terrorism category and delay the freedom movement. Some how, that strategy did not work this time around. And Kashmiris are to that extent safe, though they are harassed every where.
Considering the Muslims as cheap, US-led Western powers and their Eastern allies like Israel and India harp on terrorism to terrorize the Muslims and deny what is their due in the ever-growing development of global economy. Generally, the terrorism acts look formidable and real because of the heavy death tolls and media hype to terrorize the innocent people by making them believe that some private Muslims- terrorists, supported by a few Islamic states, alone are responsible for this ghastly terror affair.
Indian Strategy of unleashing terror on innocent Muslims directly or in a proxy manner has indeed worked very well so far in its favor, because Hindus rule and control Indian system and could easily ruin any one it does not like. India is a known terrorist state with its continuous genocide of innocent Kashmiris in their own lands now under Indian occupation. Although only recently the world has come to know about involvement of Hindus and their organizations as well as military agencies in terrorist activities to defame Islam and kill Muslims, these nefarious activities have been going on for decades since Indian separatists got independence from UK . The terrorist acts in Indian towns are the hidden strategies of Indian majority people to deny any benefits to Muslims and malign neighboring nations on account of terrorists.
Mumbai mayhem reveals glitteringly that terrorism ploy could help the colonialists and imperialist nations to advance their global interests. Cash-rich India wants dominate world affairs, influence the world organizations, retain Jammu Kashmir under military occupation, and kill Muslims, especially the Kashmiris without any trials once they are brought to its terror custody. In the name of “law & order’, Muslims all over the country are arrested and jailed on the eve of anniversary of demolition of grand Babri Mosque by the militant Hindu Jihads, while Kashmiri Muslims struggling for their sovereignty back form occupier India are being persecuted, tortured and killed on their own lands, Kashmir. India needs no obstructions to their killing of Muslims either in jails or outside. Under the cover of Mumbai terrorism and as pressed by Indian media-cum-intelligence, Indian government is on its way to pass a law to deny the Muslims the right to bail.
The kinds of inflammatory articles being arranged for publication by global media magnets are notorious for their insights and analysis. These days only the US-led nations like Israel and India are capable of inform the world about what is happening, how and why. The entire burden of their arguments are to show how bad the Muslims, the so-called “terrorists”. When the so-called democracies say something people tend to believe, after all the USA does not tell lie so are the Hindus and Israelis, they think. India media has made it point to equate terrorists with Muslims as if Muslims are terrorists and they should be brutally killed.
After suspecting Pakistan for its possible involvement in Mumbai terror, the USA now has cleared PakistanUSA makes a statement it becomes an international law. It is no more a secret strategy of India that it seeks international, especially the American, sympathy on terrorism plank, essentially when New Delhi has been for quite some time making all out efforts for coming closer to USA and other big powers, by focusing on terrorism acts. And exactly the Mumbai terrorism ploy India is keen to utilize officially to claim a seat on the notorious UNSC. off any such involvement. When
State Terrorism in “innocent” India
Even after killing thousands of innocent Kashmiris, destroying the grand Babri Mosque and torturing Indian Muslims in jails after the fall of Babri Mosque, India still calls itself a peace-loving nation, a secular democracy every body else a terrorist state. While presenting a false image abroad as peace loving and “terror victim” nation, India indeed is problem for the neighborhood. India ’s neighbors have been subjected to its hegemony and intimidating behaviour. Now as a terror prone state, India has become a threat to the security of its neighborhoods. Entire South Asia region is insecure now. The moment the Mumbai terror attack commenced, without wasting a single breath, Indian media, its establishment and political leadership, in unison, as if following a printed script, began not only blaming Pakistan for the attack, but started threatening war. Indian media have helped their government to unleash hatred on Pakistanis. By using some self-centered Muslims to write ugly things about Muslims and praise Indianness and Indian greatness, etc, which by itself is vulture culture and vulgar, they tell the West that Muslims are pretty happy in Hindu’s country.
India has been in constant tough not only with US-led terrorist west, but also Israel that kills Muslims in its vicinity. Indian media still harp on the “trained terrorists” from Pakistan as a ploy to bully the Muslims in India , Kashmir, Pakistan and Bangladesh and else where. India , as usual, calls Pakistan , Bangladesh and Nepal as terrorist laboratories to train terrorists against India . Indian terrorism experts repeatedly ask Indian forces to wage a war with Pakistan , just as the Neocons do in Washington pressing for Iranian invasion before Bush leaves the scene from behind.
India very effectively played its part in Mumbai terrorism by comparing it with Sept11 of the USA . By dong so India is sending a message to US-Israel combine that it is a genuine and natural ally they can trust in future joint operations. The western powers want to influence the church by making Islam appear to be a terrorist religion. By terrorizing humanity in the name of terrorism, they want to fix a terrible problem in their own religious community. Sept11 “suspected” are coerced to seek guilty. Something similar to this is what the Indo-US service personnel have in mind to do before closing the file.
Today the globalizing world is geared to accept any thing the anti-Islamic global media say about Islam and Muslims. The terrorism stories they manufacture to feed the developing world just laugh at Muslims make the non-Muslims persecute Muslims, terrorize them and spread all sorts of rumors about them; essentially all this is being done meticulously to insult Muslims and defame Islam. By emulating the US style rhetoric, IndiaPakistan is not ruled out. In a tactical move, Indian authorities have included in the list of 20, some people wanted by the USA to make a common cause between two strategic partners. Incidentally the list of 20 people is not new. It is the same which India presented in 1993 and 2002. India would continue to press for its demand and Pakistan would not hand over any one till evidence beyond any reasonable doubt of involvement of any Pakistani is presented to it. has said that all options are on table and military action against
Indian media say Taj terrorists are hiding in Pakistan . Indian media generally come to know about what happens to Hindus the world around and who occupies what position and who is harassed where, etc. But what atrocities Indians do in India, Kashmir and else where are not made available to these “innocent” media magnets. Not even what the Indian terror forces do with Kashmiris in Kashmir, men, old and young, women and children. So obviously what India does to Pakistanis in Pakistan does not find any place in Indian media.
Recent debates have exposed the tyrannical state regimes engaged in terrorism activities. The Malegaon blast case has totally tarnished the self importance image of Hindus and now they talk about” terrorism has no religion” from the earlier stand that “Hindus are not terrorists, but only Muslims are so” they revised their position by stating that terrorism has no religion; Encouraged by this official Hindu view, even Muslims write that terrorism has no religion and all terrorists are not Muslims. And the stuff like that makes Indian secularism rather “vibrant” for foreigners. A fear complex terrifies Indian Muslims and that is the fact.
India for a long time enjoyed the global sympathy by spreading false news about Islamic terrorism in IndiaIndia and around. Slowly many more stunning facts got revealed and it has been proved that the Indian military which essentially functions under the Pentagon is also involved in Indian terrorist activities. Self-styled godman Dayanand Pandey has emerged as one of the key persons in the Malegaon blast case. During his narco analysis test, he had revealed that it was sadhvi Pragya Singh who had allegedly masterminded the Malegaon blasts. He also mentions during the test that he had introduced the sadhvi to Lt Col Purohit who in turn allegedly helped in undertaking the attack. The question now is how did Pandey get in touch with Purohit and what is the association between these two men. During the test conducted on Pandey at Bangalore last week, he goes on to explain as to how he got in touch with Purohit. In a state of trance, Pandey reveals that while working for the Indian Air Force, he got in touch with Purohit who was in the military intelligence at that time. He said both of them came close as they worked in the Marathwada region. However, Pandey was sacked from service due as he had committed some irregularities. Later, he went on to start an ashram. He reveals that that in the ashram, he sheltered several boys. Investigating agencies claim that some of the boys were anti social elements and used to work for Pandey. Joshi is the same man, the sadhvi claims she sold her two-wheeler to. The same two-wheeler was used in the Malegaon blasts, which claimed six lives. Pandey states that he got to know of Pragya after she had taken sanyas. The self-styled godman says this was when the plan was hatched to carry out a strike. According to Pandey, the plan was hatched and each one was assigned a different role. While Pandey coordinated the attack, Sadhvi was in charge of planting the bombs while Purohit took care of assembling the bombs and arranging the explosives, Pandey further revealed to a startled investigating team. Purohit too had revealed during his narco analysis test that he had sought the help of local persons in Malegaon to assemble the bombs. The “material” was brought in from Jammu and later stored in Pune. The rest is already history and Pakistan is beng blamed for the Indian terrorism. and Hindus being the “victims”. In fact many western columnists shed tears over their anti-Islamic format of writings. Then all of a sudden the world woke to the fact that Hindus are the terrorists in
Thus, a combined gang of Hindu religious and military and anti-Islamic militant forces are fully engaged in terrorist activities and the media-cum-intelligence would pass on he bam on Muslims. Finally the judiciary, taking clues form Media reports, pass their own pro-Hindu judgments.
Fake Sept 11 Trials: Former President Bush won his send term by using Islamic terrorism plank. By opening secret prisons across the world, Bush convinced the Americans of severity of “Islamic terrorism”. During the current presidential poll, terrorism occupied the top slot in debates. Neocons still harp on terrorism plank. The US-led terror forces that control the judicial process at Guantanamo Bay, where Muslims are being tortured in the name of investigation, seem to coerce those in secret prisons to make confessions of involvement for winding up the cases in US favor. No one knows for sure why the terror forces have picked up those in jails. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, a Pakistani, the self-styled “mastermind of the terror attacks” and four co-defendants said they wanted to confess in a note to a military judge at Guantanamo Bay. Mohammed and four others – Ramzi Binalshibh, Mustafa Ahmed al Hawsawi, Walid bin Attash and Ali Abdul Aziz Ali – were charged earlier this year with conspiring with al-Qaeda to kill civilians. Although in which way these people were involved in the Sept11 which is seen mainly as the US ploy to retain NATO and attack Islamic regime Afghanistan with Russian help. They face 2,973 counts of murder, one for each person killed when al Qaeda militants crashed hijacked airliners into the World Trade Center , the Pentagon and a Pennsylvania field. They however said in an earlier hearing that they welcomed martyrdom.
The judge, Colonel Steven Henley, said he would question them “from A to Z” to ensure they understood the impact of their decision, which could see them face the death penalty. He read from the defendants’ note, which began: “We, all five, have reached an agreement to request from the commission an immediate hearing session in order to announce our confessions … with our earnest desire in this regard without being under any kind of pressure, threat, intimidations or promise from any party.” The note said all five wish to withdraw all pending motions filed by their military-appointed lawyers, whom they do not trust and have tried to fire. “I do not trust any Americans,” Mohammed said in English during an appearance before the judge. Obviously, how could they trust the global terrorists?
Of course, any terrorism trial is bound to be a farce since terrorism is being caused by the nuclear powers like USA, India and Israel . Saddam’s cruel murder in Iraq has vividly showcased what is store for Muslims in the world today, if they oppose anti-Islamic phobia. US-led terror nations depend too much on their loyal global media for propaganda war. The media have done yeomen service to USA in the anti-Islamic campaigns. Trials and judgments all would have to follow USA approach against Islam.
Official Story about Mumbai terrorism : Having fixed their focus on Pakistan , Indian sources fabricated some “facts” and some other “evidence” to book Pakistanis first, before lay8ng hands on others. According to sources in the Mumbai police, coastguard, and commandos, a ship carried the terrorists from Karachi to Indian side where bots were hired; the trawler was taken over at sea by at least 10 young men, aged between 20 and 23 years, carrying backpacks and bags, Investigators still do not know what the men were sailing on and where they were coming from when they took over the trawler – though suspicion has fallen on the Pakistani port city of Karachi. What they do know is that the men tied up one of the crew in the trawler’s engine room, and slit his throat. The abandoned trawler was found by Indian coastguard ships more than three nautical miles off Mumbai. When coastguards boarded the vessel, they found the dead crew member, plus a satellite phone and GPS tracker that possibly belonged to the trawler’s crew.
Investigators told the BBC that the tracker showed “a return mapping for Karachi “, leading to speculation that the men who attacked Mumbai had planned to return in the same trawler. A ferry doing about 20 knots can cover the 506-nautical mile distance between Karachi and Mumbai in a little over 24 hours. After abandoning the trawler, the men opened the inflatable dinghies they were carrying and sailed into Mumbai waters early on 26 November, a little more than 10 hours before the attack, investigators say. An abandoned dinghy has been recovered in the sea off one of the many fishing colonies which dot the city’s coast. One of the top investigating officers told the BBC that the gunmen – nine were eventually killed and one arrested – split up into four groups and took the city’s rickety black-and-yellow Fiat taxis from the fishing colony at Cuffe Parade to some of the locations they planned to attack. They say the men left grenades or bombs inside the taxis before they got out. The taxis exploded soon after, killing two drivers and one bystander.
Indian official fiction equals the American stuff. Indian media pointed to Karachi as the source of Mumbai terrorism. From Deccan Mujahidin, the intelligence controlled media quickly switched to Pakistan as a safe space to point an accusing finger. India then said enemy came form Karachi for terrorism in India though on Indian Ocean enemy could come from any direction and far from the South Asia region. It is mind boggling that how these could invisible eleven could came from Karachi to Mumbai after crossing 21 Indian radars in a journey of 50 hours. But Indian Ocean links Mumbai not just with Karachi ; it goes beyond Asia , into other continents. Any ordinary map would show that. The usual blame game of India accusing Pakistan of any terror experiments in India continues with a view to destroying the evidence s in India . From 26 for a week Indian media quite aptly confused the world as much as they could while Indian intelligence wings were seen busy with removing any cues of the terrorism.
Mumbai coastline is intensely monitored twenty four hours by high tech helicopters, hovercrafts, speed boats and vassals equipped with latest surveillance electronic gadgets .Every boat and ship entering Indian coastline is scanned. Even a small fishing boat crossing littoral waters is intercepted in minutes. The Indian radars can monitor activity of any vassal leaving far beyond Karachi – as far as Gawadar. Indian media have generated news to keep the emotionally struck Indian and global masses in good humors.
The first round of attacks took place around the Chhatrapati Shivaji Railway Terminus or the Victoria Terminus, when gunmen entered the platforms and fired on people indiscriminately. They walked out of the station after the carnage, and shot three policemen and fired at journalists gathered near a cinema to record the event. Then they took a police van and drove off. A flat tyre forced the gunmen to abandon the police van. The men then stole a Skoda car and drove towards the seafront Marine Drive , just as the other groups of gunmen were attacking a cafe, two luxury hotels and a Jewish cultural centre. The story goes saying that as the Skoda took a zigzag route through the streets of Mumbai, the men inside opened fire in several locations – including at the Cama and Albless hospital for women and children.
Police say they intercepted the Skoda on the seafront and shot at it, killing one of the gunmen and arresting the other. Twenty-one-year-old Azam Amir Qasab, who police say is from Pakistan ’s Punjab province, is now the investigators’ key to unraveling the planning that went into the attacks. Commandos who fought early pitched battles with the gunmen in the two luxury hotels, the Taj Mahal and Oberoi Trident, say that the lithe attackers moved quickly from room to room and climbed up and down floors to throw them off tracks. The gunmen set fire to curtains and threw grenades to distract the commandos, according to federal commando chief JK Dutt. “We found a lot of unexploded grenades inside the hotel. They damaged a lot of property. It was senseless violence,” he said. They also found lots of dry fruits, Indian and American currency, ammunition and fake Mumbai college student identity cards in the bags the gunmen had left behind during the attacks. “We are checking whether the gunmen had any local support. But what we are sure is that they were not from India, and had trained in and were carrying stuff – AK-56, AK-47 and 9mm revolvers and hand grenades possibly of Chinese make,” said an investigator.
Indo-Global media scheming
The efficiency of global media in churning out analyses in connivance and tune with the views intelligence and government authorities is proved whenever a terrorist makes news. These vibrant media have a lot of stuff cooked up and cut to the needs of the state machinery to feed the public and mould their opinion and mindset. The full cooperation and complete obedience are taken for granted by global governments and intelligence. Mumbai terrorism has once again given another opportunity to prove their anti-Islamic credentials.
The intelligence wings of Indo-US have been harping on ‘gathering” information about the Mumbai terrorism to fix, if not Pakistan , at east one of the Islamic groups or random individuals for the terror attacks and close the files. Indian agencies are churning out new materials for that. New details have been slowly emerging about the early stages of the Mumbai terror attacks. The story of the Mumbai terror attacks likely began when a private fishing trawler with five crew members set sail on the Arabian Sea off the coast of Porbandar in India ’s western Gujarat state on 13 November.
Pressed by Indian intelligence and media to go for a war with “little” Pakistan , India has begun provocative maneuvers on Pakistan air space. Pakistan has said two Indian warplanes violated its airspace on 13 Dec and they flew up to 7.4km into the Lahore and Azad Kashmir sectors, sources said. Indian Air Force spokesman denied the allegation and perhaps it does not want a real war with Pakistan , a nuclear power and a major non-NATO ally because NATO would take steps to protect its ally by all means. India ’s foreign minister denied making a “threatening” phone call that prompted Pakistan to put its forces on alert, the call was a hoax. Pakistan Information Minister Sherry Rehman said Pakistan ’s air force remained “on alert and ready to face any eventuality, but we do not expect this to escalate. There is no need for alarm.” Pakistani jets had responded, forcing the Indian aircraft to turn back.
Pakistan, under cross border compulsions, got sucked into the Afghan trouble back in December 1979 when the Red Army and Soviet troops occupied that country. Pakistan often, obediently, offers its mercenary services to Western countries, but this one has, by now, gone on for an atrocious three decades. Pakistan ’s US services have, by now, brought Pakistan to ruin — and put a question mark on its very existence. The US had dubbed that fight against Soviets as “Islamic jihad,” but in fact it was a war between two superpowers — Washington and Moscow . Hindu terror attack in Pakistan received no mention in Indian media. Three Pakistanis died in Peshawar and Lahore during violent street protests against Danish cartoons that had satirized the Prophet Muhammad. More such mass protests followed weeks later. But more Pakistanis die to defend their own lands from foreign invaders.
Mumbai Nov 26 was a disastrous act of terror and did affect the international community psyche. India is quite eager to compare the domestic terrorist actions with Sept11 and take mileage for its notorious actions domestically. The international community was looking at the issue of own home grown Indian terrorists. The Indian government is trying its best to get maximum benefit and advantage on Mumbai Nov26 from the international community as well as create a nationalistic fervor towards itself. Why India is employing all propaganda tactics to get attention and help from the West and US. Immediately the attention is diverted by the intelligence controlled Indian medial from the Army officers and men involved in terrorism. The bad name and negative image of the army was creating problems as the people were becoming aware of realities. The morale of Indian army was also low. The Indian political parties are going to cash on the issue of terrorism. The Government will try to derive full mileage in this context.
Islamabad has been blamed as a “non-state actor” for the attacks and has vowed to cooperate with investigations, but has also repeatedly said anyone caught in Pakistan would be tried in Pakistan . Singh later said India wanted good relations with Pakistan but again urged Islamabad to do more to stamp out militant groups operating on its soil. But he is reluctant talk about homebred terrorism by Hindus.
India quickly announced to go far a war with Pakistan , but a war would be counterproductive by strengthening the hands of hawks and extremists in India and Pakistan . There was clear cut evidence of hawala funds coming to pro-Hindutva elements who were involved in planning terrorist acts. The RDX which was used in these incidents was stolen from Indian army depots. Those who understand the various aspects of terrorism and are up-to-date about how the Indian print and electronic media is constantly revealing stories of Hindu extremists and their militants who are involved in terrorist activities in Gujarat, Orissa, Kandhamal, Maharastra.
British premier Gordon Brown rushed to India and Pakistan to arrange for the trial of those caught. In Islamabad , Brown proposed a new British-Pakistan “pact against terror,” saying “three-quarters of the most serious terrorist plots investigated by the British authorities have links to al Qaeda in Pakistan .” British Prime Minister Gordon Brown blamed banned Pakistan-based militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba for last month’s deadly Mumbai attacks as tension between nuclear-armed neighbors India and Pakistan simmered Brown also offered India help with forensic investigation, stepping up airport security and offered to cooperate on dealing with security at major sporting events. Brown said Britain would expand its counter-terrorism assistance program to Pakistan , offering help with bomb disposal, bomb scanning equipment and airport security. He also announced Britain would fund a six million pound program to tackle the causes of radicalization, using educational materials.
Terrorism & Poll: Nov 26 Mumbai terrorism, no matter by whom and how it was attempted, has taken place just on the eve of the polls and the polls verdicts were expected to be influenced by the horrors of terror. Much before the Indian government decided to use the opportunity to fix Pakistan and escape global criticism of its handling of the crisis and security lapses, etc, the Indian media declared war on Pakistan within minutes of the carnage.
Recent poll results in 5 Indian states reveal one important factor about emerging political polarizations in the country. It looks Nov26 Mumbai terrorism has helped in some measure to resolve the three party or block choices. India wants to decimate the number of Political platforms and reduce them into two blocks and leaving the so-called third front insignificant. The 5 state polls have done that following the Mumbai terrorism, people were given two choices on terrorism issue to choose from.
In a crucial electoral contest ahead of the parliamentary elections early next year, India ’s ruling Congress bested the BJP in three out of five states that went to the polls in staggered elections that ended on December 4. Although the Congress outsmarted the BJP, the party is not all happy about the outcome. The outcome of the staggered elections between November 14 and December 4 sparked off speculation about early Lok Sabha elections”Mr Clean” image has helped the parties to win the polls. Leaders blamed the loss on infighting in party ranks. Delhi, as was expected, brought back Dikshit government more convincingly than other wise. The hopes of the BJP have been badly shattered now and now looking to newer strategies to outsmart Congress. While the Congress retained power for a record third five-year term in Delhi , wrested Mizoram and ousted the BJP in Rajasthan, but losing to it decisively in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in assembly elections that were the last popularity test ahead of the Lok Sabha battle.
In Rajasthan’s 200-member legislature, the Congress emerged the largest party winning 96 seats and was set to form the government taking help from among 25 independents including rebels from its own ranks. And in north-eastern Mizoram, the Congress ended the Mizo National Front’s (MNF) 10-year reign marred by corruption, sweeping 37 of the 40 assembly seats. In Madhya Pradesh, former chief minister and Bharatiya Jan Shakti (BJS) founder president Uma Bharati, a fire brand anti-Muslim lost from the Tikamgarh seat, her home turf.
Even as BJP supporters celebrated in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, party leaders admitted that the results were disappointing, especially the rout in Delhi, where they had been confident of ending 10 years of Congress rule, more so since voting in all states barring Chhattisgarh took place in the shadow of the Mumbai terror carnage. BJP sources admitted that if they had won even three of the four northern states, they would have pressed for early parliamentary polls. The issue of terrorism they had raked against the Congress government of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh after the November 26 Mumbai terror attacks and the arrests of Hindu activists following the earlier Malegaon bombings had failed to pay dividends. But the timely resignations by Home minister and Maharastra chief minister have saved Congress in some measure.
The Congress’ most exciting victory came in Delhi where Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, 70, crushed the BJP, winning 40 seats in the 70-member house with results yet to be declared from four constituencies. The biggest hero turned out to be Dikshit, a grandmother who became the first woman in India to lead a party to an assembly election victory for a third term. Even Congress leaders who are normally used to hailing only Sonia Gandhi after every electoral victory gave due credit to Dikshit.
One could say that the Congress bests BJP in ‘semi-final’ battle. But the result will set a momentum for the Lok Sabha elections due in April-May. In summary, it is a surprise that the Congress party gained from the Mumbai terrorism in the polls held in 5 states as “rehearsal” for general elections – and not the opposition BJP as it is generally expected. More glaringly, the terrorism has sped up the process of dismantling the chances for any third front emerging in Indian national scene.
Indian Threat : People do object to foreign invasions and occupation of their lands and it is for the “civilized’ world to take measure to vacate the lands occupied by them, their allies or friends. Kashmiris have been demanding independence back from India. Of late USA and UN have pressed Indian to submit to international pressure on Kashmir and consider surrendering sovereignty back to Kashmir. India now seeks some relief on that account under terrorism plank. India is taking advantage of the situation and playing his own game to get maximum benefit of the situation. The investigators say the aim was to “create an international incident, and anything big in Mumbai would be noticed all over the world”.
In other words, the burden of the delay tactics was to bring the incident look similar or at least closer to Sept11. The hold of the terrorists for three days after the terrorism, their modus operandi, their links, determination all lead to questions which remain unanswered. The Indian scheming are focused on to enable India to come closer to USA as strategic partner under terror wars category. The full investigations might lead to some clues or answers but as already seen that such incidents when happened the investigations were never disclosed if there are insiders involved. A deep sympathy India sought for being a “terror victim’ has been pronounced all over the world, along with for those who died.
As it is known, Pakistan wants 3 Indians for their criminal activities: Advani, Purohit, and Thackeray. However, list is longer than this. Not just these three persons, in fact many people in New Delhi ’s big offices should be on the “wanted” list of UN as well. Indian brute forces have been murdering innocent and defenseless Kashmir since 1947 when Indian quite tactfully annexed its neighboring Jammu Kashmir. All those responsible for the genocides in Kashmir ought to be in a wanted list. India wants to outsmart Pakistan with its own hit-list.
So, India now demands Pakistan to hand over 40 “terrorists”- a revised estimate from its earlier 20 odd- and New Delhi ’s further action would depend on how Islamabad responds. India says Pakistan must surrender some 40 wanted by India on some other cases. It looks sheer joke on Indian part. India claims that the terrorist bosses abroad had a target of 5000 people and the achievement was negligible and no one gives the clues about how and from whom this information has reached the Indian media. Indian terrorism specialists claim evidence is with Pakistan and it should be fetched and not to do Pakistan ’s job; after all Pakistan and other neighbors are expected to India ’s job and not other wise.
Already economically haunted, the Muslims have been facing tough situations around the world on account of the fabricated ‘terrorism’ reports by the global media abetted by the intelligence wings. The anti-Islamic agenda in conjunction with anti-Pakistan-cum-Kashmir goals has stood Hindu India in good stead and blame for all terrorism activities perpetuated by the state agencies and Hindu outfits have been cunningly placed on the defenseless Muslims in India and Kashmir as well the “cross-border-terrorists’ from Pakistan. India media over decades have created a terror image about Muslims around and pleaded with the UN and USA for the total “innocence of Hindustan ” and had asked the world to treat the Muslims as potential terrorists.
Several national and international sources have disclosed that Indian-Hindu politicians of India provide logistical and financial support to terrorists. Hindu Jihads might get hold of New Delhi’s nukes to destroy the remaining mosques and other Islamic monuments. Terror prone India should be a cause of concern to its neighbors, especially Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and obviously Kashmir. There has been a persistent propaganda that Pakistani nukes are not safe and one day might get into hands of terrorists ,But what happened in Mumbai onNov26-28 has raised concerns about security of Indian nuclear assets. It has become a global practice to win elections by employing unjustifiable methods, including wars and terrorism, missile firings, etc and it has been proved that the ruling party gains greatly form such nefarious efforts to influence the voters.
With articles made-to-order on Mumbai terrorism, Indian media somehow hinted the political cause or the poll climate as the possible reason for the Mumbai terrorism and therefore, the England team came back and both India and UK have resumed their cricket game even as the poll game ended with none getting any special mileage from the terrorism. The reports that India took special care not to get the English cricketers killed in the bombings because, possibly, they are the guests of the Indian state and any disaster would have serious consequences for Indian diplomacy especially in the West when it is trying to knock at every large doors in the Western capitals to get endorsements for UNSC seat on account of terrorism experience and being a terror “victim”.
India said the “terrorists” from Pakistan had a target of 5000 persons in Mumbai alone. India said its interrogation of the surviving terrorist indicates that all 10 men come from the Pakistani port of Karachi , and at least one, if not all 10, were Pakistani nationals. Indian wants to see the image of Pakistan gets damaged/weakened in the US and West. As a serious “victim” of terror, India expects to be preferred as their major terror ally of USA and not Pakistan . With different statements and approaching the international forums India can build a psychological pressure on both Pakistan and USA . As an ally to kill Muslims, Pakistan Army is already busy in tribal areas and Balochistan. They are going to worry about eastern borders. Now India would add more problems to Pakistan viz a viz USA.
India eagerly waits for opportunities to stall Indo-Pak peace talks and delay the Kashmir re-independence issue .While any number of terrorist attacks in Pakistan tearing apart that Islamic nation, Pakistan still wants to forge good neighborly relations with India , while any such terrorism in India would immediate call for closing any peace process abruptly. It is because India has to surrender Kashmir under its brute control since 1947 and it wants to retain their control over that nation by scuttling any positive development in the talks and hence the recent peace talks in New Delhi between foreign ministers of Pakistan and India were called off after the Mumbai terrorism.
Indian paper tiger would not attack Pakistan for sure. However, since both are nuclear nations, terrorism of this proportion is bound to elicit devastating consequences for their ties and also for the whole region. Considering that the Taj terror was essentially meant for boosting the recent poll in 5 states, and it had nothing to do with UNSC or non-NATO ally-ship, India is not expected to create another false alarm in Pakistan with a possible war. Two jets were shot down during the Kargil conflict in 1999 under similar situation.
Pakistan wants to help India if it the Indians are sincere and produce credible evidence. At the same time, any reading of the Pakistani English-language press reveals Pakistani voices expressing real anguish and horror over this incident.’ the prominent Karachi-based feminist poet and writer Attiya Dawood: ‘I can’t say whether Pakistan is involved or not, but whoever is involved, it is not the ordinary people of Pakistan, like myself, or my daughters. We are with our Indian brothers and sisters in their pain and sorrow.’ Pakistan ’s information minister confirmed the incursion and said officials had “spoken to the Indian air force and they have said it was inadvertent”. The director of public relations for the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) said the Indian aircraft had violated Pakistani airspace on two separate occasions.
Kashmir remains the root cause of tensions between Pakistan and India and main cause for terrorism. The Indian strategist expect, rather want, the Mumbai violence to adversely affect Pakistan and India relations, Indian government is busy in stressing the point that some outsiders have committed the terrorism. Anti-terror law would terrorize the innocent Kashmiris and Muslims in general further. However, India accepts only praises and does not accept any responsibility for intra- terrorism in the country; does not even hint at its role in terrorism either in Pakistan or Sri Lanka or India but conveniently pass on to Pakistan as a safe goat. Indian strategists know for certain any terrorist action in India would affect its relations with Pakistan and that has indeed happened, or at least is happening now. (Writer-South Asia)
Scrubs Seasons 1-8 DVD Boxset
Scrubs is an American comedy-drama created in 2001 by Bill Lawrence and produced currently by ABC Studios. The show follows the lives of several employees of Sacred Heart, a teaching hospital. It features fast-paced dialogue, slapstick, and surreal vignettes presented mostly as the daydreams of the central character, Dr. John “J.D.” Dorian, played by Zach Braff.
Alongisde Braff, the first eight seasons of the show starred Sarah Chalke, Donald Faison, John C McGinley, Judy Reyes, Ken Jenkins and Neil Flynn. In the ninth season, only Faison and McGinley will appear as regular cast members, while the rest with the exception of Reyes, will make guest appearances. A complete script is written for each episode of Scrubs; however, actors are given opportunities to improvise their lines during the shooting process. The series has repeatedly featured guest appearances by film actors not generally seen on episodic television, such as Colin Farrell, Heather Graham, and Brendan Fraser.
Scrubs premiered on October 2, 2001 on NBC. During the seventh season, NBC announced that it would not renew the show. Shortly after the seventh season finale, ABC announced that it had bought the rights to the show and on January 6, 2009, the eighth season of Scrubs premiered on ABC. The eighth season finale aired on May 6, 2009. Scrubs has been renewed for a ninth season of 13 episodes, for which Zach Braff and Sarah Chalke have signed on for six. The ninth season, which will premiere December 1, 2009 on ABC, will feature several new cast members.
The show’s title is a play on surgical scrubs and a term for a low-ranking or insignificant person (at the beginning of the show, most of the main characters were medical interns, one of the lowest ranks in the medical hierarchy).
Narration
Scrubs focuses on the unique point of view of its main character and narrator, Dr. John Michael “J.D.” Dorian (Zach Braff). Most episodes feature multiple story lines thematically linked via voice-overs done by Braff. According to Lawrence, “What we decided was, rather than have it be a monotone narration, if it’s going to be Zach’s voice, we’re going to do everything through J.D.’s eyes. It opened up a visual medium that those of us as comedy writers were not used to.” In every episode J.D. has many comical daydreams as well as many “situation comedy” style lines, which are often a result of improvisation. At the end of most episodes, J.D. summarizes the story’s theme in a sequence of shots that show how it has affected each of the characters.
Almost every episode title begins with the first person singular possessive determiner, i.e. “My…”. Bill Lawrence says this is because each episode is Dr. John Dorian writing in his diary (said on the commentary on the first season episode “My Hero”). There are notable exceptions in the episodes entitled “His Story”, “His Story II”, “Her Story”, “Her Story II”, “His Story III”, “His Story IV”, “Their Story” and “Their Story II”. Apart from a brief period of narration from J.D. at the beginning and end, these episodes primarily contain internal narration from another character besides J.D. The transfer of the narration duties usually occurs at a moment of physical contact between two characters.
Cast and characters
The series features seven main cast members, with numerous characters recurring throughout the series.
* Zach Braff portrays John Michael “J.D.” Dorian, the show’s protagonist and narrator. J.D. is a young attending physician, who begins the series as a staff intern. His voice-over to the series comes from his internal thoughts and often features surreal fantasies.
* Sarah Chalke portrays Elliot Reid, another intern and later private practice physician. Her relationship with J.D. becomes romantic on several occasions throughout the series. Elliot is driven by a neurotic desire to prove her abilities to her family (in which all of the males are doctors), her peers, and herself.
* Donald Faison portrays Christopher Turk, J.D.’s best friend and a surgical attending physician. Turk and J.D. were roommates when they attended the College of William and Mary as well as in medical school, and the two have an extremely close relationship, which is best described in season 6 as “Guy Love”.
* Neil Flynn portrays the hospital’s custodian, known only as “Janitor”. An incident in the pilot episode establishes an adversarial relationship between him and J.D., which persists throughout the series. This tends to take the form of the Janitor pulling mean-spirited pranks on J.D., although he has shown, several times through out the series, that he has a good side. In the season eight finale, “‘the Janitor”‘ admits his name to J.D. as “Glenn Matthews”.
* Ken Jenkins portrays Bob Kelso, Sacred Heart’s Chief of Medicine. Kelso is cold, heartless and cruel, driven primarily by the hospital’s bottom line rather than the well-being of patients. However, it is occasionally suggested that he has a softer side, and that his cruelty is a means of coping with the years of hard decisions. He has been forced to make hard decisions from the beginning, stating that when he became Chief of Medicine, he thought he’d be “the man”. Instead he very quickly realized that the harsh decisions made him unpopular, but he had to continue his “evil” facade to keep the hospital running smoothly. He retired in Season 7, after which his relationship with staff at the hospital improves. Occasionally talks about how unproud he is of his homosexual son.
* John C. McGinley portrays Perry Cox, a senior attending physician at Sacred Heart and the hospital’s Residency Director before becoming the new Chief of Medicine in season eight. J.D. considers Cox his mentor despite the fact that Cox routinely criticizes and belittles him. Cox frequently suggests that this harsh treatment is intended as conditioning for the rigors of hospital life.
* Judy Reyes portrays Carla Espinosa, the hospital’s head nurse, who acts like a mother figure to interns, often hiding their mistakes from their attending doctor. During the course of the series Turk forms a relationship with Carla; they eventually start dating, get married, and start a family together.
Season synopses
The first season introduces J.D. and his best friend Turk in their first year out of medical school as interns at Sacred Heart Hospital. J.D. quickly meets: his reluctant mentor, Dr. Perry Cox; an attractive young woman (and fellow intern) named Elliot, on whom J.D. has a crush; the hospital’s janitor, who goes out of his way to make J.D.’s life miserable; the Chief of Medicine, Dr. Bob Kelso, who appears to be more concerned about the budget than the patients; and Carla Espinosa, the head nurse and Turk’s new girlfriend, who puts Turk through the trials and tribulations of being in a serious relationship. The characters face romances and relationship issues, family obligations, overwhelming paperwork, and a tremendous number of patients.
The second season focuses on J.D.’s second year practicing medicine at Sacred Heart, where he is now a resident. As the season develops, J.D.’s older brother Dan (Tom Cavanagh) comes to visit, money issues affect J.D., Elliot, and Turk, Turk proposes to Carla, and Elliot finds a new boyfriend, a nurse named Paul Flowers. (Rick Schroder) Dr. Cox resumes a sexual relationship with his ex-wife Jordan, with quite unexpected results.
In the third season it’s the third year for J.D., Elliot, and Turk at Sacred Heart and their second year as residents. As the season opens, Elliot decides to change her image, with some help from the Janitor. J.D.’s undeniable crush on Elliot emerges again, but J.D. instead begins a relationship with Jordan’s sister Danni (Tara Reid), who is also dealing with feelings for her ex. Turk and Carla are engaged and planning their wedding. Turk, along with the Todd and the other surgical residents, deal with the new attending surgeon, Dr. Grace Miller (Bellamy Young), who dislikes Turk and considers him sexist. Dr. Cox and Jordan are doing well with their relationship and their son Jack, although Dr. Cox develops a schoolboy crush on Dr. Miller. He also struggles with the death of his best friend. Elliot gets into a serious relationship with Sean Kelly (Scott Foley) and tries to work out their long distance relationship while he’s in New Zealand for 6 months. J.D. eventually convinces Elliot to break up with Sean to date him, only to realize that he doesn’t actually love her. Their relationship lasts three days. The season ends with Turk and Carla’s wedding, which Turk misses due to surgery and a church mix-up.
In season four, J.D. finishes his residency and becomes a full-blown colleague of Dr. Cox, although their dynamic does not change much. As the season opens, Turk arrives from his honeymoon with Carla but they soon have issues when Carla tries to change many things about her new husband. Their marriage and Turk’s friendship with J.D. are also endangered when J.D. and Carla share a drunken kiss. Dr. Cox and Jordan learn that their divorce was not final, but this seemingly good news causes friction. Elliot is still angry with J.D. for breaking her heart, and the situation becomes more uncomfortable still when she dates J.D.’s brother. J.D. has a new love interest of his own when a new and very attractive psychiatrist, Dr. Molly Clock (Heather Graham), arrives at Sacred Heart. Molly also serves as Elliot’s mentor during her time at the hospital.
Season five begins with J.D. living in a hotel . He has become an attending physician now on the same level as Dr. Cox. Elliot has taken a new fellowship in another hospital. Turk and Carla are trying to have a baby, despite Turk still having doubts. Finally, some new interns have arrived to Sacred Heart, chief among them being Keith Dudemeister (Travis Schuldt) who Elliot soon makes her new boyfriend, much to J.D.’s dissatisfaction.
The sixth season sees J.D. and the other characters mature to fill the different roles required of them. J.D. is cast in the role of expecting father since his girlfriend, Dr. Kim Briggs (Elizabeth Banks), is pregnant with his child. Turk and Carla become parents when Carla gives birth to their daughter, Isabella Turk. Elliot plans her wedding to Keith, although she and J.D. still harbor feelings for each other. Dr. Cox, as father of two children with Jordan, struggles to prevent his foul disposition from affecting his parenting.
In season seven, J.D. and Elliot struggle once again to deny their feelings for each other, despite Elliot soon to be marrying Keith and J.D. to have his first son with Kim, whilst the Janitor may have a new girlfriend, Bob Kelso’s job is also put on the line as he approaches the age of 65, J.D.’s brother Dan also returns to town.
The eighth season sees Dr. Kelso’s replacement, Dr. Taylor Maddox (Courteney Cox-Arquette), arrive; she quickly makes a lot of changes, affecting the way doctors treat patients. Elliot and J.D. finally discuss their true feelings for each other, and Janitor and Lady (Kit Pongetti) marry, while Dr. Cox is promoted to chief of medicine. J.D. prepares to leave Sacred Heart to move closer to his son, along with Elliot. Turk is also promoted to chief of surgery at Sacred Heart.
Coinciding with season eight, Scrubs: Interns was also launched, focusing around the eighth season’s medical interns, Sunny Day (Sonal Shah), Denise (Eliza Coupe), Katie (Betsy Beutler), and Howie (Todd Bosley). The interns learn from various characters of the show about life in the hospital.
The ninth season will take place an unknown length of time after season eight’s finale and will see Dr. Cox and Dr. Turk becoming medical school professors whose students occasionally rotate through Sacred Heart. Also, Elliot will end up being married to J.D. and will be pregnant during this season It is also known that Ted Buckland will leave the show during the season as actor Sam Lloyd has decided to move on. The ninth Season will start airing on December 1, 2009.
Production
The origin for the show is loosely based on Dr. Jonathan Doris’ experiences as a resident in internal medicine at Brown Medical School, which served as inspiration for college friend and show creator Bill Lawrence.
Scrubs is produced by ABC, through its production division, even though it was aired by rival broadcaster NBC. According to show runner Lawrence, the arrangement is unusual, at least for 2007: “The show is a dinosaur, on one network and completely owned by another” and, since it is now in syndication, making a “ton of money for Touchstone.” Both he and Braff confirmed ABC would have broadcast the seventh season had NBC refused to do so.
Since Scrubs is aired around the world in many different languages, instances of foreign languages on the show have to be changed for the international versions. Carla’s Spanish is changed to Italian in the Spanish language version of the show, and Elliot’s German is changed to Danish (or, in at least one fourth-season episode German with a Swiss accent) in the German version of the show.
The chest X-ray featured at the end of the title sequence was hung backwards for most of the first five seasons. Bill Lawrence has stated that having the X-ray backwards was intentional as it signified that the new interns were inexperienced. However during Zach Braff’s audio commentary on “My Last Chance”, he states that the error was actually unintentional. The error became somewhat infamous and was even parodied in “My Cabbage”.
An attempt was made to fix the error in the extended title sequence that was used at the beginning of season 2, but the extended sequence (including corrected X-ray) were soon scrapped at fan and network request. Finally, in “My Urologist”, Dr. Kim Briggs steps into the credits and switches the X-ray around, saying, “That’s backwards; it’s been bugging me for years”. At the beginning of season 8, when the series switched to ABC, the chest x-ray was once again backwards.
Main crew
The show’s creator, executive producer, and head writer is Bill Lawrence. He has written many episodes and has directed 17. He is also the show runner and does many uncredited re-writes for episodes. Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan have produced and written a number of episodes together, starting as writers and co-producers on the show and working their way up to executive producers; they left the show after the eighth season.[13] Bill Callahan is an executive producer and writer who started on the show in season 4 as co-executive producer and has since written 8 episodes. Angela Nissel joined the crew in season 2 as a staff writer, and became supervising producer in 2007, she has written 10 episodes. In her second book, Bill Lawrence is quoted on the back cover and references to Scrubs are present throughout the final chapter. Mike Schwartz is co-executive producer, he started out as a story editor in 2006. He has written 13 episodes and also has a recurring role in the show as Lloyd the Delivery Guy. Michael Spiller has directed 17 episodes from 2002-09. The pilot episode of the show, “My First Day” was directed by Adam Bernstein, who has since directed 11 other episodes. Star of the show Zach Braff has directed 7 episodes of the show, including the landmark 100th episode “My Way Home”, which won a George Foster Peabody Award in April 2007. In 2009 Josh Bycel, a writer and supervising producer for the cartoon American Dad!, joined the crew as a new executive producer for the 9th season.
Medical advisors
Scrubs writers work with several medical advisors, including doctors Jonathan Doris, Jon Turk, and Dolly Klock. Their names serve as the basis for the names of characters John Dorian, Chris Turk and Molly Clock (played by Braff, Faison, and Heather Graham, respectively). In the season eight finale “My Finale”, the “real JD” Jonathan Doris made a cameo appearance as the doctor who said “adios” to JD.
Filming location
Main article: Sacred Heart Hospital
Scrubs is filmed on location at the North Hollywood Medical Center, a real decommissioned hospital located at 12629 Riverside Drive in the North Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, however, the location of Sacred Heart Hospital within the fictional world of Scrubs is left ambiguous. Cast and crew on the show refer to the location as “San DiFrangeles”—a portmanteau of San Diego, San Francisco, and Los Angeles that is meant to encompass a large part of California. For the ninth season of Scrubs, the show will be filmed at Culver Studios.
Writers strike and network change
On November 5, 2007, the Writers Guild of America went on strike, which put the production of the show’s seventh season on hold. When the strike started, only eleven of Scrubs’ eighteen planned seventh season episodes had been completely written. Lawrence refused to cross any WGA picket lines to serve any of his duties for the show, so ABC Studios had non-WGA members finish episode twelve, which the studio had unsuccessfully pressured Lawrence to rewrite as a series finale prior to the strike.
During the strike, NBC announced that The Office and Scrubs would be replaced by Celebrity Apprentice. NBC later announced that they would leave Scrubs on hiatus for the time being and fill the 8-9 PM timeslot with various specials and repeats.
Episode 11, “My Princess”, was eventually filmed,[18] although Lawrence was absent. Filming of episode 11 was disrupted by picketers. It was believed that Lawrence had tipped the picketers off about the filming schedule, although these beliefs turned out to be false as Lawrence quickly drove to the set to “keep the peace.”[18] After the strike ended, Lawrence announced that the final episodes of Scrubs would be produced although, at the time, he was unsure where or how they would be distributed.[19]
Season eight on ABC
Amid strike-induced doubt involving the final episodes of Scrubs, on February 28, 2008, The Hollywood Reporter reported that ABC was in talks with corporate sibling ABC Studios with the aim of bringing Scrubs to ABC for an eighth season of 18 episodes,[20] despite both Lawrence’s and Braff’s protests that the seventh season would definitely be the last.[18] Just hours later Variety reported that NBC was lashing out and threatening legal action against ABC Studios. However, McGinley confirmed that he had been told to report back to work on March 24, 2008 to begin production for another season. On March 12, 2008, McGinley was also quoted as saying that the show’s long-rumored move from NBC to ABC was a done deal, and that Scrubs would air on ABC during the 2008-09 TV season as a midseason replacement.
On March 19, 2008, Michael Ausiello of TV Guide reported that although nothing was “official”, the Scrubs cast was to report back to work the following Wednesday for work on a season “unofficial” as yet. Zach Braff posted in his blog on MySpace, on April 28, 2008, that an eighth season consisting of 18 episodes was under production but that he could not say where it will be aired. He then stated, on May 7, 2008, that the May 8 episode would be the final NBC-aired episode of Scrubs, which was followed by a bulletin on his MySpace, on May 12, confirming that Scrubs’ eighth season will be moving to ABC.
On May 13, ABC announced that Scrubs would be a midseason replacement, airing Tuesday nights at 9PM EST. Steve McPherson, ABC’s President of Entertainment, also stated that additional seasons of Scrubs beyond the eighth could be produced if it performs well. In late November, ABC announced Scrubs would resume with back-to-back episodes on January 6, 2009 at 9PM EST.
Creator Bill Lawrence stated in a video interview that season 8 will be more like the first few seasons in tone, with more of a focus on more realistic and dramatic storylines and the introduction of new characters. Courteney Cox joined the cast as the new Chief of Medicine, Dr. Maddox, for a three-episode arc. The eighth season includes webisodes and is the first Scrubs season broadcast in high definition.
Sarah Chalke was hoping that J.D. and Elliot would end up back together, comparing them to Friends characters Ross and Rachel, which has been addressed a few times on the show. In the early episodes of the season they did rekindle their relationship, and have continued dating through the end of the season. Several actors who guest starred as patients at Sacred Heart during the course of Scrubs returned for the finale.
Cinematography
The show is shot with a single-camera setup instead of a multiple-camera setup more typical for situation comedies. Episode 4.17 “My Life in Four Cameras”, has a brief multi-camera style, since it includes J.D.’s fantasies of life being more like a traditional sitcom.
John Inwood, the cinematographer of the series, shoots with his own Aaton XTR prod Super16 film camera. Except for the finale of season 5, “My Transition”, which was broadcast in high definition, the first seven seasons of the show have been broadcast in standard definition with 4:3 frame aspect ratio.
After the show was moved from NBC to ABC, the broadcast format for new episodes changed to high definition. John Inwood believes that older episodes will be re-released in HD as well. He protected for 16:9 aspect ratio from the very beginning so episodes could be aired in HD format when the market evolved. In his opinion, footage from the Super16 camera was not only sufficient to air in HD format, it looked terrific.
Music
Music plays a large role in Scrubs. A wide variety of rock, pop, and indie artists are featured, and almost every episode ends with a musical montage summing up the themes and plot lines of the episode, and the music for these montages is often picked even before the episodes are completely written.
Members of the cast and crew are encouraged to contribute song suggestions, with many ideas coming from series creator Bill Lawrence, writer Neil Goldman, and actors Zach Braff (whose college friends Cary Brothers and Joshua Radin appear on the Scrubs soundtrack) and Christa Miller Lawrence (who selected Colin Hay and Tammany Hall NYC). According to Bill Lawrence, “Christa picks so much of the music for the show that a lot of the writers and actors don’t even go to me anymore when they have a song. They hand it to her.”
In addition to music being featured as a soundtrack to the show, the cast themselves also sing on a frequent basis, such as in the episode “My Best Friend’s Mistake” when the entire cast had the Erasure song “A Little Respect” stuck in their heads and would sing it repeatedly. Producers expanded Scrubs’ musical emphasis with a musical episode early in the sixth season, called “My Musical”. This episode aired on January 18, 2007.
Theme song
The theme song of the series, performed by Lazlo Bane, is titled “Superman”, and can be found on the album All the Time in the World, as well as on the first Scrubs soundtrack. Lawrence credits Braff for finding and suggesting “Superman” as the theme song. The lyrics “I’m no Superman” relate to the show’s theme of its characters’ fallibility.
The Scrubs main title is performed at a faster tempo than the original recording of the song. The original, slower recording was used briefly at the beginning of season 2, played during an extended version of the title sequence (that included Flynn and full cast credits), as well as the opening for “My Urologist”, and a special edit of the title sequence for resulting in roughly 1–2 seconds of music, followed by the line “I’m no Superman”, accompanied by a quick flash of credits. The original intro from season 1 was used through most of season 3 (except the few episodes with the very short intro) and then used for seasons four through eight.[citation needed]
[edit] Soundtracks
Main article: Scrubs (Soundtrack)
Three official soundtracks have been released. The first was released on CD on September 24, 2002, and a second an iTunes exclusive was released in mid-2006. An iMix on iTunes of the music used through the first five seasons has also been released.[citation needed]
[edit] Featured musical contributors
Colin Hay, the former frontman of Men at Work, has had music featured in at least seven episodes, and has appeared in the episode “My Overkill”, performing the song “Overkill” as a street musician, and in the episode “My Hard Labor” performing “Down Under”. Hay also sings “Where Everybody Knows Your Name”, the theme from Cheers, in the episode “My Life in Four Cameras” and the episode “My Philosophy” features Hay’s song “Waiting For My Real Life To Begin”, sung by several members of the cast.
The music of Joshua Radin, who is a friend of Scrubs star Zach Braff,[40] has appeared in at least six episodes to date.
Music by Keren DeBerg has featured in 15 episodes, and she appeared in “My Musical” as an extra in the song “All Right”.
The “Worthless Peons”
Main article: The Blanks
The Worthless Peons (also known as Ted’s Band, The Blanks, or in the non-canon “My Way Home” Director’s Cut as “Foghat”) are an a cappella group made up of hospital employees from different departments. They are a cover band, and often sing songs from a specific genre (for example, cartoon theme songs or commercial jingles). They have appeared in several episodes.http://www.buydvdhere.com/scrubs-seasons-18-dvd-boxset-p-2661.html.
The Worthless Peons are played by The Blanks, who are a real-life a cappella band made up of Sam Lloyd (who plays Ted), George Miserlis, Paul F. Perry, and Philip McNiven. The Blanks’ album, Riding the Wave, features guest appearances from Lawrence and members of the Scrubs cast. This band was put on the show when Sam Lloyd brought his friends/capella band to a rehearsal. Lloyd told Lawrence about his band, and Lawrence got the idea of putting them in the show.
The Worthless Peons also sing the theme song to the web series Scrubs: Interns, which features the new interns from season eight learning about the hospital in the same way that J.D. did in season one. Interns is aired on the ABC website.http://www.buydvdhere.com/scrubs-seasons-18-dvd-boxset-p-2661.html.
In its first three seasons, Scrubs received Emmy nominations for casting, editing, and writing of a comedy. Following Season 4, the show received additional nominations for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (Braff), Best Editing for a Multi-camera series (although the series is predominantly shot single-camera, Episode 4.17 “My Life in Four Cameras”, has a brief multi-camera style), and casting. The show also won the 2002 and the 2008 Humanitas Prize in the 30-minute category.
Braff was nominated for the Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical in 2005, 2006 and 2007, but lost to Jason Bateman for Arrested Development in 2005, to Steve Carell of The Office in 2006, and to Alec Baldwin of 30 Rock in 2007.
Scrubs won a George Foster Peabody Award for its 2006 season, specifically citing the Wizard of Oz homage in “My Way Home”.http://www.buydvdhere.com/scrubs-seasons-18-dvd-boxset-p-2661.html.
At the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards, which aired in September 2007, the episode “My Musical” was nominated for five awards in four categories: Outstanding Directing For A Comedy Series (Will Mackenzie), Outstanding Original Music And Lyrics (“Everything Comes Down to Poo” and “Guy Love”), Outstanding Music Direction (Jan Stevens), and Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (half-hour) And Animation (Joe Foglia, Peter J. Nusbaum, and John W. Cook II). It went on to a joint win along with the Entourage episode “One Day in the Valley” in the latter of these categories.http://www.buydvdhere.com/scrubs-seasons-18-dvd-boxset-p-2661.html.
Paul Blart: Mall Cop Movie Review
Paul Blart: Mall Cop Movie Review - Plot
The movie opens at the New Jersey State Police Academy in the autumn of 2008. Paul Blart (Kevin James), a single father, tries out to be a cop. He does surprisingly well on the obstacle course despite his size, but passes out due to hypoglycemia, and fails the course. He lives with his mother and daughter, who tries to find him a girlfriend on a dating website, as his wife had previously left him, and he had been feeling lonely ever since. He tries to make ends meet as a security officer at West Orange Pavilion Mall. He takes the job very seriously, but receives no respect from the patrons. The next day, Blart is introduced to a new trainee named Veck Sims. Blart takes him on a tour of the mall, teaching him the basics. While patrolling the mall, Blart sees – and falls for – a kiosk owner, Amy. After a few attempts to muster up courage, Blart tries to talk to Amy, but awkwardly asks for hair products instead. Upon their second “meeting”, Blart offers to give Amy a ride to her car on his Segway, and they agree to meet later in a bar where the mall staff are regular patrons. Unfortunately, Blart accidentally gets drunk, and humiliates himself in front of everybody present. Thinking he has ruined his chances with Amy, Blart returns home in low spirits. Later, Blart’s co-worker offers him his daughter’s phone so Blart could call Amy.
On Black Friday, a group of robbers disguised as Santa’s helpers “seize the mall” while Blart is inside the arcade playing Rock Band. While in the arcade, a foreign teen named Pahud calls the cell phone looking for the co-worker’s daughter. Pahud believes Blart is her lover but he explains that he is only borrowing the phone and gives the boy positive advice (basically to just relax about this girl). Pahud begins to admire Blart and they become quick friends. The robbers chase most of the shoppers and staff outside. However, some of the mall staff, including Amy, are taken hostage inside the mall’s bank. Veck reveals himself to be the ringleader, and intends to steal thirty million dollars from the mall by obtaining the codes to the mall’s credit card machines.
The West Orange Police, led by Sgt. Howard, surround the mall, but are unsure of the actual conditions inside. Meanwhile, Blart realizes that the mall has been taken over, and he makes contact with Sgt. Howard. However, the moment he finds out Amy is among the hostages, Blart resolves to take the matter in his own hands. He begins incapacitating the robbers one-by-one, and recording the stolen credit card codes. Outside, SWAT Commander Kent arrives to take control over the operation, and he ultimately dismisses Blart’s actions; Also he has known Blart as Kent has been cruel to him since in high school. He shows that he is much more willing than Sgt. Howard to raid the mall, regardless of the hostages’ safety. While Blart is busy fighting the robbers, his daughter, Maya, arrives at the mall to deliver his dinner, but she is quickly taken hostage by Veck. She then meets Amy, and tells her how Blart really feels about her.
Finally, Blart manages to incapacitate all of Veck’s henchmen, but Veck discovers Maya’s identity, and he tries to force Blart to give him the codes in exchange for her life. Instead, Blart distracts Veck with a mannequin, and tries to free the hostages, but fails. He is forced to give Veck the codes, and Veck escapes the mall with Amy and Maya in tow. Blart follows them, with Commander Kent finally on his side. Blart finds out that Veck is headed to a nearby airport, and ambushes him there, successfully restraining him. However, Commander Kent then attempts to kill Blart and points a gun at his head, and reveals that he was working with Veck the entire time. Fortunately, Sgt. Howard had followed them, and quickly arrests Commander Kent after Blart’s boss, Chief Brooks shoots the gun out of Kent’s hand. Blart and Amy are re-united and Blart admits his feelings for her and she kisses him. Howard offers to let Blart become a full-fledged police officer. Blart steadfastly refuses, saying that his place is helping people in his mall. During the end credits, bonus scenes show Blart and Amy getting married in the mall with all of their co-workers and friends there, including Pahud.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop Movie Review - Production
The film began shooting in late February 2008 in Boston. Principal shooting took place at the Burlington Mall in Burlington, Massachusetts after being denied a permit from Willowbrook Mall (Wayne, New Jersey). From late February until mid-April, the mall and its stores were decorated with Christmas decorations, and there was a large prop ball-pit in the main foyer of the mall near the Sears branch, and a Santa’s Village at the opposite end near the Macy’s branch in the same place that the mall usually puts its own Santa’s Village. Signs were placed throughout the mall explaining that this was for filming a movie, in order not to confuse the guests. Interior filming took place mostly at night. The South Shore Plaza in Braintree, Massachusetts was the location of subsequent shooting.
The titular cop is played by Kevin James with Keir O’Donnell as his opponent. Ugly Betty recurring star Jayma Mays plays James’ love interest. The film is directed by Steve Carr.
