    No!

  2. Kristinaaaaahhhhhh!

Nevermind the fact that it’s illegal and he could get in a ton of trouble…

  3. devil_queen_biatch14

has nothing to do with maturity. 18 is a big deal one drink isnt goin to hurt u. just dont make drinkin a habit

if they dont drive..and if theyre responsible..then why not

It depends on the child… and he seems mature (the 18 yr. old)… and if the dad is thinking about it… then he trusts his son. Also, I think that with family it’s all right… at weddings, b-days, New Year’s… JMHO. Also, many cultures introduce wine at the table for their kids when they are very young. If taught about the responsibilities, then they should be fine.

Sorry, The law is the Law. No one under 21 is allowed to drink. He may chose to do whatever he wants, but when the law says NO then it’s NO.

  7. kennyshoneypie

If he is confident that his son can handle it, and not go overboard…then why not? As long as they are in the privacy of their own home, that is pefectly legal too!

If the kid is mature enough to take care of himself when the uncle is in prison, sure.

Sounds like the uncle is the one that needs to do some growing up.

  9. shfacey

Sure I don’t see why not. I think they should lower the drinking age. If, at 18, you are old enough to put your life on the line for your country then you should be able to drink.

  10. wsl709

no its the law you cant buy anyone alcohol until their at least 21 srry

  11. KELLEY

Can we hear a “Hell no”! That is illegal and if something happened to his son while drinking, dad could end up in jail for a long time!

when i was 18 my dad bought beer and alcohol for me but i had to stay at home so me and my friends would stay home and drink, i think he just didnt want us out on the road

  13. smiley

i would say if he was of legal age, but he is not so if i were him i wouldn’t.

  14. BK

Umm lets see……that would be called contributing to a minor. They made the drinking age 21 for a reason….. No matter how “mature” he may be at 18, it is still against the law………………..even in the privacy of his fathers home…..

Edit to the answer 2 below mine: If the main point here is teaching to drink “responsibly” then the other point must be teaching your kids they are above the law and it’s ok to break it???

  15. kiikart

No. You can get in more serious trouble if you aid in purchasing a minor alcohol.

I think I remember seeing on tv that teenagers that drank with their family were more likely to drink responsibly instead of hiding it from their parents and drinking irresponsibly with their friends. Basically setting an example of drinking responsibly is the main point I think.

Does mature for their age mean he/she acts like they’re 21?
I think that is such an asinine statement teenagers use to make them selves feel older. underage is underage

A mother here in FL was dropped of at he county jail this morning by her two teenage sons so she can begin her 27 month sentence for providing her sons with alcohol. I feel she got what she deserved.

  18. revealtheinspiration

Absolutely not. Maturity most definitely has nothing to do with consuming alcohol. You need to tell your uncle that he will just be another irresponsible parent and if he doesn’t want to be seen that way, then, he should just have his son wait until the legal age.

If he wants to in another country where it’s legal, then that’s his choice. If he is willing to take the risk and responsibility if something goes awry then he can because it is ultimately his choice, but as others have advised, he really shouldn’t.

NO! It is a bad idea. My grandmother drank and let her children do it under her roof so that she could moniter them and they all are either drug addits or alcoholics. I just believe if these things are introduced at an earlier age you develop a tolerance and need other pick me ups later in life. As a teen you are being allowed to experince things much earlier than your peers so there is no chance of deveoloping the proper skills that go along with alcohol.

With that said, parents need to be just that….PARENTS, not your friends no matter how old you get. What does this dad have to gain by allowing his son to drink? Not only is this father breaking the law, but the dad is liable if someone gets alcohol from his house, how many other kids will flock to his house trying to get a drink, where is his son going to go that his peers will be able to tolerate his alcohol consumpiton ? It is just a bad idea b/c there is nothing to be gained here? Bottom line its a lose/lose situation for all by allowing him to drink. Its just condoning bad habits early in life. I urge your uncle to not let his son drink .

Girl If your uncle wants to introduce his son into adult hood with teaching him how to be responsible when your drinking alcohol, and allowing him to experience how alcohol will effect him. So when he goes off to college are whatever there want be any pressure of feeling that he’s missing out on anything, and that will help him to be more responsible when everyone else is feeling the pressure of their peers. I don’t think that this has nothing to do with under age drinking, he just wants to prepare his son for the word and in the world there is alcohol

  21. mamanana9

absolutely not were supposed to tell our kids not to drink, not get them drinks

  22. LittleBarb

If the drinking age is 21 in the state your uncle lives in then he would be breaking the law by buying alcohol for any 18 year old…. Not only would HE, but so would any bartender selling the drink…. if the bartender doesn’t check for proof of age, it’s HIS responsibility as well. However, what kind of example is that uncle of yours setting for these teenagers if he shows them he would break the law like that.?????

  23. Harley

Although there are many arguments regarding this question, the fact remains that it is illegal, at this time, to drink under the age of 21. The answer then has to be NO.
