i need opionions/advice for a sick toddler?

  • Posted on October 31, 2010 at 3:25 pm

monday night til tuesday morning my daughter (15 months old) was sick and vomiting. we were very careful with her diet all tuesday and into wednesday, she only had dry cereal, toast and bananas with pedialyte to drink. since she was doing so well i added eggs for an early dinner yesterday and since she handled that well i gave her a bottle of formula at bedtime then this morning around 4 she woke up sick again… so the question is did i rush into a normal diet or is she still sick and thus contagious?

our doctor doesn’t open til 8:30 and from there you need to wait for a call back, i am not terribly concerned about my daughter since she acts just fine like she has a typical stomach bug, but what i really need to know is do i still need to keep her separate from the other kids… again i’ll call in to the doctor once they open but wanted some advice for before they get back to me, thanks

who gets custody? accident in 2006…abandonment now?

  • Posted on October 31, 2010 at 3:25 pm

my husband and i married in dec 2006. shortly after being married we were involved in a drunken ‘accident’. while intoxicated i threw a ceramic soap pump and it just so happened to hit him in the head. i was not aiming for him, and there were no police reports etc. i then went to a psychiatric hospital because i was ‘depressed’ etc. and had to abruptly come off of my medication. We had a child in Nov. 2007. she is now 18 months old. two nights ago we got into an argument (our arguments have never turned physically violent -except for the accident in 2006) he called the cops after this argument that we had about money, him not wanting to look for a job etc. he’s unemployed and getting unemployment and i am a stay at home mother. after this argument and the cops leaving, he left out of state i do not know when or if he is coming back he took the vehicle my parents bought for me and left our daughter and i at our apartment. i spoke to the officer who showed up and he said i could file for divorce for abandonment. my main question is if i do, with my past depression and that incident that occured could they deny me custody of our daughter, even if it was that far in the past and a one time incident etc.?? by the way i am currently not seeing a dr. for any depression etc. it was situational depression. please help!

Xboyfriend got DUI with daughter in car and I don’t know where he is?

  • Posted on October 31, 2010 at 3:25 pm

Uhm, My xboyfriend was arrested while driving drunk with our baby in the car..he drove around the corner from his house and was pulled over [thank God]
I know he was arrestd and taken to jail, he got out that same night and the officer said he was not gonna charge for child endagerment. Since then, I’ve only had 1 contact message from him and a phone call wherein he states that he will contact me on the 28th, which is almost 2 weeks. I understand he may be in a DUI school or something, Does anyone know anything about alcohol programs and their rules or have any idea why he will not see us, talk to us and acted like he is not allowed to even get calls from us? All he said was, he is safe and will contact me on the 28th….???
Signed,
Confused

does palin not realize the irony of having her daughter (who’s a mother) speaking out for abstinence only?

  • Posted on October 31, 2010 at 3:23 pm

roboron:
are you saying having a baby is like being in prison or a heroin addict? should teens be terrified by bristols story? do you think this will finally stop all that terrible sex before marriage that heathen kids have?
did they not teach her anstinence only?

were they surprised she didn’t insist on a condom?
bristol replies: whats a condom?

How do I handle a 14 year old girl that’s not my daughter but practically lives at my place?

  • Posted on October 31, 2010 at 2:17 pm

Before I asked about her alcoholic mother, but now having problems with her. Last week she borrowed money and then didn’t show up to work it off like she was supposed to. She went boy-chasing. She also “borrowed” without asking a stuffed animal from me and then ruined it at a volleyball game (it was the other teams mascot). She didn’t tell me or apologize until I asked. She’s a beautiful child with a mother who drinks and doesn’t care. She’s been like part of our family since she was 8, and now she’s 14. But she’s getting difficult. I love her too much to just say she can’t come over, but it’s getting really stressful. I can’t place any rules on her because I’m not her mom, but I’m beginning to feel like she’s taking advantage of me. If I “quit” on her, she’d have no one. But is it even possible to handle a female teenager who has no rules or boundaries? She hangs out with an older girl that also has no rules. I can tell her what I expect and hope for her but that’s about it. Any ideas

Help! My son is addicted to World of Warcraft!?

  • Posted on October 31, 2010 at 1:23 pm

My 14 year old son is addicted to computer games! He gets angry if he cant play! Taking the computer away starts world war 3! We recently moved and all his old friends are online playing it. My daughter says he has friends at school, but noone calls or comes over. I have resorted to unplugging the internet at night, but he whines and complains terribly! He even has snuck into my room to plug the internet back in, in the middle of the night! His grades are okay and hes basically a good kid. I have tried talking to him but he just gets angry. He does little around the house and its like pulling teeth to get him to take the trash out. Just taking it away is torture for me! He plays soccer but season is over right now and getting him involved with any thing else is not gonna happen. What can I do? I dont like to yell. Help! Im afraid he’s obsessed with that game. Please productive advice only!

In Florida, at what age may a child make the decision as to which parent s/he will live with?

  • Posted on October 31, 2010 at 7:22 am

Father lives out of state, is settled, married and has maintained the same employment for several years. Custodial mother is alcoholic, been arrested recently for DWI(s) and cannot maintain a stable home. Child has lived with grandmother for the past 3 years. Mother has now joined her there (@ grandparents) with her newest baby. 14 (in August) year old child wants to live with Dad. Dad wants custody but cannot readily afford the high retainer fee required by the attorney that he contacted. Is there anything this father and daughter can do without an attorney?

Crystal Meth Over Dose?

  • Posted on October 31, 2010 at 7:20 am

As a parent, if your healthy 17yr old daughter had a siezure one morning, would you think anything of it?

I’m just asking because this morning I had a siezure while I was talking to my mom and she didnt even care… I’ve never had one before and she just completely ignored it… I’d smoked a lot of meth the night before and I think I OD’d (I was like foaming out my mouth and stuff then I had a siezure)…

My parents dont know I do drugs either… I just dont get how she could ignore a siezure especially because I’d been acting really wierd the night before and they heard me come home at 4:30am and knew I’d never gone to bed…

Can anyone make sense of this? Is my mom just a bad parent or something?
Hmmm… yah just to add to that… I’m 53 days clean of cocaine, I got really addicted to it and spent between $2000-$3000 on it every month… And like I lost 12lbs in a week and my parents never noticed… Other than coke I’ve never been addicted to anything… Smoke weed every day, but I can go without… I dont get how they didnt know I was a coker either cuz I constantly had nose bleeds and I was always broke and I changed who my friends were and I stopped going to school and I started failing classes and my mom works at my high school and every single teacher of mine knew I was a drug addict…

Also, I go out every night till like 4am or later and when I come home I’m either so drunk I cant walk or I’m so high I’m flailing or puking, and they never notice… And they let me party in one of the most dangerous neighbour hoods in the country…

And at my last house party someone got stabbed and all they said was “no more parties anytime soon”… my managers at work say more!
Oh, and if it matters, my moms a drug addict, but shes addicted to prescription meds and has been since I was 9… And my dad works too much, he’s never around so he’s clueless to everything…
