My daughter just turned 3. She is not potty trained completely yet, but does a great job staying dry throughout the day. Even so we do not leave the house without her diaper bag, which she calls her Toddler Bag. The toddler bag is always very well stocked with Pull-ups, a spare outfit, sunscreen, crayons, a few books, an empty sippy cup, and snack that she picks herself. Cheerios, animal crackers or similar. We take this bag every time we go anywhere more than just a simple run to the store.
The problem is that NO other mothers seem this well prepared. Other 3 and 4 year olds at picnics, parties, and dance recitals are always asking my daughter to use her crayons, to eat her Cheerios, or read her books. I want her to learn to share, of course. But she should be able to have something to herself sometimes! Can’t these other mothers think a head and bring these things? How much does she have to share anyway?
For example, we went to a dance recital today. Knowing it was going to be long I was well stocked. Halfway though she was getting cranky and whiny so we pulled out the Cheerios and filled her sippy with water from the fountain. She was quite happy. Until my friends 4 year old son starting asking her for Cheerios. She said to me that she did not want to share, and I told her that was okay. She was hungry! She ate the whole snack bag herself and drank her water, then was fine for the rest of the show. I felt bad for the other boy, but I knew my daughter was hungry. Whey should she have to give up her food?
So how much does she have to share? Do I have to bring enough Cheerios, Crayons, and books for EVERY kid that may or may not be there? Or is this a lesson to other moms to be more prepared for their own kids??
I am not angry about her having to share, I am annoyed about parents not thinking ahead for her their own children and then putting my daughter on the spot. this is not a one time thing. it happens a LOT. She is more inclined to share toys and crayons with the other kids, but not the snacks. If we are going out for a play date, then i always bring enough for the other child too. But at random cookouts and graduation parties I often do not know how many kids will be there. and I do not feel like we have to plan for them all.
Toddler diaper bag/sharing etiquette?…Just how much does she have to share?
If you found out that someone you trusted was drinking and driving with your child in the car?
My teenager (16) went out with a friend and his mom. When she got home she told me that the mom met up with another friend and went to a bar, leaving the kids and two other younger children (12 and 9) in the car in the parking lot. They didn’t know where they were so I couldn’t go get them- so my daughter didn’t call me (she knew I would call the police and put out an Amber Alert or something). The mom and friend then drove the kids home drunk.
I will yell at this woman when I next see her but what else can I do?
What would you do? What could you do?
Please help me before I myself break the law and beat the crap out of this person.
This happened last night. My daughter didn’t call the police because she was really freaked out and was afraid of what they may do to her (yell at her, get mad at her ect.) I told her that’s better than her being dead because of them!. She’s never been around people drinking and knew I would totally freak.

Do i have to let my daughter go to family events where my fiance’s ex will be attending and she does drugs?
My fiancee and his ex have an 11 year old daughter together. After they had her, his ex’s mom and his uncle got married.(kinda wierd i know). the daughter lives with the ex and the uncle and ex’s mom.well my fiancee and I have a 6 month old daughter together and plan to get married next year. i don’t want my daughter going to the ex’s house because they all do drugs in the house and during family events.(the ex smokes crack and is an alcoholic). although i want my daughter to be involved with her sister, i don’t nor do i want my daughter going to my fiance’s ex’s house.is this wrong of me and is it wrong of me to keep my daughter away from family events?. My fiance’s ex also flirts with him still and is disrespectful to me. I dont do drugs and neither does my fiance and i fully welcome the 11 year old into my home and think she could come to our house to visit with my daughter…
Concerned about my father-in-law’s health. Should my husband be concerned?
My father-in-law is 72 and in very poor health. He was a 3 pack a day smoker when he was younger. He also has a history of alcoholism and using pot. He is a diabetic, has chronic heart failure, COPD, emphysema (unsure), and anorexia due to illness. He weighed around 175 pounds when I first met him over 5 years ago. He had open heart surgery in July of last year for a heart valve replacement. He was doing very well, until, he feel and broke 4 ribs in October. He suffered from the flu in December and has not been the same since. Today, my husband and I went to visit him for dinner. He was short of breath, wheezing, asthmatic symptoms, and producing large quantities of phlegm. I was a nursing assistant for 14 years before a back injury. I also had college courses to enter nursing school, but never finished because of family obligations. I am concerned that he is not eating regular meals. He drinks beer everyday on an average of 6-22 ounce cans. He has lost almost 30 pounds since his accident. He is literally just skin and bones. I believe what he is experiencing now is CHF symptoms. His breathing respiration was barely 12 breaths per minute. His coloring was very pale, he was taking chills, and color almost grayish. Should I have my husband talk to his father about seeing a doctor asap. I’m concerned this could be fatal if not tended to soon. Am I correct? A caring daughter-in-law.
Father / Daughter wedding dance?
I have an unusual situation. I am getting married in September and I am trying to pick out a song for the “Father Daughter Dance.” The only thing is, my father passed away when I was 10. I was going to dance with my mom or something but she passed away 2 years ago. When I was a teenager (my mother had an addiction problem so she gave temp. custody of my sisters and I to someone else) I moved in with my 2 “guardians” for 2 years until I went to college. I still am in contact with them, and Allen is going to walk me down the aisle. I asked him to do the father daughter dance with me, but I can’t choose any of the typical songs b/c we don’t have that kind of relationship and it would be weird. Any suggestions. I am 25 now and still close with him, but we don’t say I love you or anything, but he is like a dad to me. ALso I have 2 uncles on my mom’s side I have become close to since my mom passed in 07. I was thinking maybe i can involve all three or sumthin? I am also going to have everyone come up and dance to “Always and Forever” which was my parents song, to honor them. I am just having trouble, and it is kind of hard to think about without getting sad (every girl wants their daddy there, but I don’t have either of my parents). Any suggestions would be great! Thank you! :)

How did you toilet train overnight?
My son will be 3 years old at the end of April. I really want to be “pull-up free”. He has been fully potty trained during the daytime, both pooping and peeing, with no accidents since he was 21 months old. But at night we still use pull-ups. He usually pee’s like crazy overnight. He used to wake up at 5 or 6 am because he had wet through it. Now he is getting better and sometimes goes through the night dry, but sometimes pee’s it a little still. Is this just something I should wait out and he will do it in his own time, since he is making progress?
I have been told and told that boys just “do this” and pee a lot more and more uncontrollably than girls. I am thinking this may be true, as my daughter will be 2 at the beginning of May, and has been totally potty trained since 18 months old, day and night.
I have heard people say that they simply do not give their child anything to drink anywhere from 1-3 hours before bed! My son still likes a drink before bed, plus I can’t expect him to go to bed after not eating or drinking for 1-3 hours! He eats all day long right up until bed time, and he likes to drink with his food. This works for us, as he has a fast metabolism and is super high energy, so he needs all of this. He eats healthy and is 39 inches 33 lbs, so I don’t want to hear that he doesn’t need that much food/drink, because he does. He goes all day long, running and playing, and if he doesn’t eat right before bed, he does not sleep through the night.
So how did you potty train overnight? Or did you just let it happen in it’s own time?
In the last 2 hours before bed, he usually has about 8 ounces to drink total over that time, and he does use the toilet every night right before bed.
BLOCK NUMBERS AND TEXT USING T-MOBILE?
Hey there! Need some help! This it’ll be a little long so bear with me. My sisters friend keeps calling and texting me. It was this dude we hung around with for some time. Never really called him a friend because that was my sisters friend. So anyways, I knew this fellow like me, but I didn’t like him that way. He’d always flirt and what not, but he’s not the person to take seriously because he plays too damn much. So he’d always ask for my number, and I hardly give it out especially if I know from my gut that it’s not right. So my sister calls this dude from my phone because her daughter and his son were going to have a play date. I deeply regret letting her use my phone because this is were it all begins. He calls back nearly at eleven two days later, sounding intoxicated, and was constantly apologizing about the reason he didn’t answer (I personally didn’t care). I told him “Listen, don’t call me okay?”. He agreed. So a few minuter later he calls, I reject. He leaves a ridiculous message. I ignore his calls. He calls alot and it’s pissing me off. What I’m asking is, I know you can forward calls to a different number, but does any know how to just forward just 1 number? I look up on wikipedia, but don’t know how. Any help is great.
Is it illegal to set someone up to be caught drinking and driving?
Trying to get custody of my daughter and her dad is a alcoholic.. I know that he drinks and drives and probably is putting her in the car and driving while drinking with her in it. I know if he is caught doing that it will make this so much more easier for me to tell him to give her back to me.. Which he should do without fighting me.. I would think. But can I do that.. Is it legal to hire a police officer to sit and wait for him to catch him doing that.? Or if it is how do I go about proving he does this to the law.. I know that he sits at the house and drinks all night long with her there what can I do about that..
Just to add to your answer about my life and why I don’t have her.. I do have her it was just a verebal mutual agreement that i said ok to for the 50/50 split I asked him not be drinking with her and now he is contioning to do so.. But we have nothing in paper as far as any court order is concerned so as of right now he could keep her and there is nothing that i can do until I take him to court.. I am a dam good mom I work two jobs I sure there hell don’t drink when i have my kids and I make sure they have what they need.. I just don’t have a 5000.$ retainer to give to a attorney or have any idea how to come up with that. I do what I can and have no bad record on me.. Im just a single mom trying to make ends meet and not have to drag my daughter through a battle Becasue of him..
