How to get my 17 yo daughter home from staying with her 20 yo boyfriend without reporting her as a runaway?

  • Posted on January 30, 2011 at 9:22 am

Situation: They live in towns about 80 miles apart. She met him 9 months ago and spent time with him. Then he has a fling with an older girl he claims was “just a booty call”. This girl gets pregnant, and decides to have this baby, and raise it on her own. She moves to NY. About a month later my daughter gets pregnant by him also, after much upset she firmly decides to have his baby. Sadly, her pregnancy ends in miscarriage.
She now has dropped out of school, and has him pick her up to stay with him for days at a time. She tells me he is “safer” for her to be with than her girlfriends: “they like to pick fights in bad hoods, drink and drive, and pop pills on the weekend.”
She says he does none of this. He dosen’t have a job, a high school diploma, or drivers license either. She and I have always had a very open and loving relationship, but now she is hostile and verbally abusive when I tell her to come home.
How do I get her to come home short of reporting her as a runaway?

can I lose my house because of drugs?

  • Posted on January 30, 2011 at 9:21 am

My daughter and her boyfriend went to jail then rehab for drug addiction. I decided to give them both a second chance and let them move back in with me. It has been three months and last week I found needles and drugs in their bedroom. My daughter is swearing it is not her. Her boyfriend said he did it but it was the medicine he receives for his heroin addiction. I am debuting on if I should throw them both out. My daughter is pregnant and already has a small child. She said she was just as shocked as I was that he was doing that and was upset too. I said since she wanted him here she needs to tell him to leave. I am not sure what it going on. They both get are on probation and get tested regularly. So if he is taking illegal drugs I would think he would get caught.

My question is should I throw him out? If the police come to my house and find drugs can’t I lose my house because of this?

Could my daughter loose custody of her son?

  • Posted on January 29, 2011 at 1:21 pm

My 19 year old is 6 months pregnant. But let me tell you the whole story. About a year ago she met this much older man at the college she attended. He started her to using cocaine and was abusing her. Before we knew it she ran away from home and caused lost of problems at home before she did. After months of the hell that my wife and I went through, we convinced her to go to rehab. That is where we learned that she was pregnant by that boy she was with. Now she is out of rehab and is back at home living with us. Her doctor said there is a chance the baby could be born with drugs in its system. Would that be cause enough for her to loose custody and if so what would my wife and I have to do to get custody of our grandson?

GOD TO OKAY KILLING EMBRYOS?

  • Posted on January 29, 2011 at 11:23 am

And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? … Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. — Numbers 31:15-17
(Some of the non-virgin women must have been pregnant. They would have been killed along with their unborn fetuses.)

Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts. — Hosea 9:14

Yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb. — Hosea 9:16

Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up. — Hosea 13:16

The priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell. And this water that causeth the curse shall go into thy bowels, to make thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to rot: And the woman shall say, Amen, amen. …
And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people. And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed. — Numbers 5:21-21, 27-28

Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt. — Genesis 38:24

Yazid ibn Mu’awiyah… was he a good man?

  • Posted on January 29, 2011 at 11:22 am

from sunni books/scholars

Ibn Taymiyyah, a Sunni scholar stated the following concerning the nature of Yazid’s position:

““Yazid had the sword and hence he had the power to deal with anyone that opposed him. He had the power to reward his subjects with the contents of the treasury, and could also withhold their rights. He had the power to punish criminals; it is in this context that we can understand that he was the khalifah and king. Issues such as Yazid’s piety or lack of it, or his honesty or lack of it, is another matter. In all of his actions Yazid was not just, there is no dispute amongst the people of Islam on this matter.””
- (ref book: Minhaj as-Sunnah an-Nabawiyyah )

Shaykh al-hadith Muhammad Zakaria, an Indian Sunni scholar, has stated the following regarding the manner in which Yazid came to power:
““The army that Yazid had sent to Madinah comprised of 60,000 horsemen and 15,000 foot soldiers. For three days they shed blood freely, 1000 women were raped and 700 named Quraysh and Ansar were killed. Ten thousand women and children were made slaves. Muslim bin Uqba forced people to give allegiance to Yazid in such a manner that people were enslaved and Yazid could sell them as he pleased, no Sahaba who were [with the Prophet] at Hudaibiya were spared.””
- (ref book: ‘Au Khanar al Masalik vol.3 pg.450).

Ibn Kathir a famously renowned Sunni Islamic scholar, himself reports on the character of Yazid:
““Traditions inform us that Yazid loved worldly vices; would drink; listen to music; kept the company of boys with no facial hair; played drums; kept dogs; made frogs, bears and monkeys fight. Every morning he used be intoxicated, and he used to bind monkeys with the saddle of a horse and make the horse run.””
- (ref book: al-Bidaayah wan-Nihaayah vol.8 pg.1169)
Ibn Sa’d, another Sunni scholar, writes in his book, “Tabaqat Al-Kubra” regarding the nature of Yazid:
““Abdullah bin Hanzala the Sahaba stated, ‘By Allah we opposed Yazid at the point when we feared that stones would reign down on us from the skies. He was a Fasiq who copulated with his mother, sister and daughters, who drank alcohol and did not offer Salaat.””
- (ref book: Tabaqat Al-Kubra vol.5 pg.66)

After Yazid’s death, when Muawiyah II (Yazid’s son) was made to be the caliph, he stated the following in his inaugural address with regards to his father and his grandfather (Muawiyah I), as recorded by Ibn Hajr al-Haythami another scholar of the Ahl us-Sunnah:
““When Yazid’s son came to power he gave the speech:
‘Khilafat is from Allah. My grand father fought for khilafat against an individual who was more entitled to it, that being Ali. He (Mu’awiya I) performed actions that you are all aware of, and he is suffering in his grave for that. Then my father Yazid became the khalifah even though he was not deserving of khilafat. He fought the grandson of Rasulullah ( Husayn ) and is suffering in the grave on account of his sins.’
Mu’awiya bin Yazid (Muawiyah II) then proceeded to cry, ‘It is a terrible thing that we are fully aware of Yazid’s bad deeds: he slaughtered the family of the Prophet, he deemed alcohol Halal, and set fire to the Ka’ba.”
@ Zubayr:
Please do explain how is it a political event?
And you say you do not praise him? then why to you put (RA) after his name?

What do I do about my daughter?

  • Posted on January 29, 2011 at 11:22 am

My daughter is 20 turning 21 at the end of this month.
She still lives at home and is working and in the process of getting a few bills in her name, like her cell phone bill, car insurance and pays for the gas she uses with my car.
I love my daughter but her behavior drives me up the wall.

She is constantly texting. She has sent nearly 2,000 text in two weeks. She text everywhere, in the car(NOT WHILE DRIVING) at home, at dinner, when we are out, at night all hours of the night, in the bathroom, walking around the house, in the grocery store. You name it she text there. I don’t have any rules against it but it drives me crazy she sends about 10 text messages a minute minus the hours she’s asleep or works.

She is up all hours of the night. She’ll be awake in her room until 5am or so. She doesn’t keep
anyone awake but I wish she would sleep more normally.

She password protected her phone and her laptop.

She stays out till 2am or later. She leaves the house whenever she wants to and is out till the wee hours of the morning. Just the other night she snuck out of the house and rode her bike to meet up with friends and wasn’t back till like 3am. She was drinking as well. She isn’t 21 for another 24 days. She gets in and out so quietly, it wouldn’t wake me up to catch her leaving. Only reason I know what time she got back in is because her brother had a friend spend the night, my son went to be around 10pm and his friend stayed up and was staying in the living room and she had him make sure she could get back in and out of the house.

I can’t take the phone from her. I can’t stay up all hours of the night to make sure she stays inside or put her into her bed and make her sleep. I can’t control what she does outside of my house. And I surely can’t kick her out, she doesn’t make enough money and would end up on the streets.

She is a good kid. She isn’t doing anything her peers aren’t. She stays out late and on occasion drinks. She is in college and has a part time job and pays for gas when she uses the car and will be paying for her cell phone and car insurance pretty soon.

I just don’t know what to do to stop her from doing those things.

Could i have your opinion?

  • Posted on January 29, 2011 at 11:20 am

I’d like you to take me seriously….this means alot.
I want to discuss Kurt Cobains murder….thats right MURDER
I want to tell you all the facts i have to prove it wasn’t suicide…
1. IF Cobain injected three times a lethal dose of heroin, COULD he then pick up a shotgun and shoot himself? Wouldn’t he have been immediately incapacitated?
Based on the heroin, (morphine), blood levels found in Cobain’s body, preliminary research indicates Kurt Cobain would have been almost immediately incapacitated. He could not have picked up that shotgun. He could not have pulled that trigger!
2.The note found at the scene by the police was immediately labeled as a “suicide note.” The police report states it was “apparently written by Cobain to his wife and daughter, explaining why he had killed himself.”
But this note was not addressed to Kurt’s wife and daughter and it says nothing about “killing himself!” This note was clearly written to Cobain’s fans telling them he was quitting the music business. There was only a short footnote to Courtney and Frances and the handwriting contained in those lines has been questioned by several handwriting experts.
3.The shotgun found at the scene was purchased BEFORE Cobain left for rehab in Los Angeles, NOT AFTER he fled the rehab as reported by misinformed media sources.
4.The police claim there were no legible fingerprints on this shotgun!
5.Courtney knew Kurt wanted out of the marriage. Just weeks prior to his death, she asked one of her attorneys to get the “meanest, most vicious divorce lawyer” she could find.
6. As mentioned earlier, the entrance door to the greenhouse had a push and twist lock. Anyone could have locked it and pulled it shut as they left, so Kurt was NOT barricaded in the room as the police had indicated to me and as the media had reported.
7. Even if he was considering a suicide, the evidence shows that someone beat him to it! But I don’t think he had any suicidal intentions at this time, the facts show that he had too much to live for and was making plans for his new life after the divorce and getting custody of Frances Bean.
8.The suicide note, the last five lines did not match his handwriting. He never mentions suicide in the so-called suicide note.”
9.Tom Grant( Courtney hired to help find Kurt) explains why: “The first phone call to me began with a lie. When we met with her at her hotel, she continued lying. She told us about stories she had just planted in the press. She seemed extremely manipulative and dominating. She didn’t seem so concerned about what was going on with him, although she said he was suicidal and everybody knows he’s going to kill himself. Yet she seemed more concerned about her career than anything else.
10.They have evidence based on the leaked autopsy report that we received saying, someone gave him an overly pure dose of heroin, waited until he was unconscious and made it staged to look like a suicide.
Tell me what you think? Even if you dont like Kurt Cobain…noone deserves to murder and get away with it….
My info is from these websites http://www.cobaincase.com and http://www.kurtcobainnews.com
I just want your opinion im not threatening or anything.
Im sure frances already knows her moms a physco shes not stupid. im sure shed much rather know the truth. AND ACUTALLY euphoric(k) you obviously didnt read what i said carefully…3 times the lethal dose it’s IMPOSSIBLE to shoot yourself! You can’t pick up the gun and pull a trigger! No his handwriting did not change BTW…he wasn’t depressed from herion he was deprresed with his life. So i ask you this? In the note he was giving up the fame because he made it depressed. He was leaving Courtney because he wasnt happy with her. He was starting over his life not ending it…Courtney took advantage of the situation and killed him because he didnt want to be with her and with him dying she would get all of the money he would earn from his Nirvana stuff.

I used to love the show 24, and I want to get back into it. What is the best way to get caught up on the show?

  • Posted on January 29, 2011 at 10:21 am

I don’t have time to watch all of the previous episodes, is there somewhere that I can just read quick summaries of each season? Or, is there a video that hits all the highlights that have happened in the show so far? Who died, who left, who betrayed, who came back, who came through, is his daughter still in the picture (Elisha Cuthbert), did he kick the drug addiction he was fighting, who is the president now, etc etc

Should you tell a 11 and 13 year old child that the absent parent is an alcoholic?

  • Posted on January 29, 2011 at 10:17 am

I have two grandchildren a boy 13 and a girl 11, the girl and her father live with me and the boy lives with my daughter and her husband. The mom is an alcoholic that is basically jobless and homeless and refuses to get any type of help or even admit she has a problem. She hides her drinking and thinks no one knows. The problem is that she shows up to tell the kids she loves them occasionally and then disappears again, she has not contributed to anything towards their well being. We have not tried to keep her away as they love her. We will not let her drive with them as she is prone to accidents but by some miracle has not been hurt or arrested. My daughter says to just let them be kids and not burden them with the details. I tend to think that if they knew the reason their mom has flaked out on them, and that alcohol was a major factor in the break up of their family they could understand what is going on better. This has been going on for almost 2 years. Does anyone have any experience in this matter?
