Why would Reconquista Rep. Gutierrez reprimands father of teen killed by DUI illegal alien?

  • Posted on March 28, 2011 at 5:22 am

CNSNews.com) – In emotional testimony before a House joint panel this week, a Virginia man recalled the death of his teenage daughter in 2007 – a death caused by an illegal immigrant who was driving drunk and who had been arrested twice before the crime, but was not deported.

“Two years ago this week, my 16-year-old daughter, Tessa, and her best friend Allison were killed as they were sitting at in intersection waiting for a red light to change,” Ray Tranchant said, as friends placed a photograph of Tessa Tranchant on an easel behind him.

Since his daughter’s death, Tranchant, a professor from VIrginia Beach, has become an advocate for the enforcement of immigration law.

On Thursday, as Tranchant applauded local law enforcement in Virginia for its increased efforts to work with federal immigration authorities since his daughter’s death, he referred to individuals listed on the Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s database of illegal aliens with criminal backgrounds as “banditos.”

That comment drew a rebuff from Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.).

“Mr. Tranchant, can I share with you as the father of two daughters, I thank you for bringing your testimony here, but I suggest to you that if we refer to people as banditos, as you referred to them in your testimony, it does not help to solve the problem,” Gutierrez said.
What I have seen, unfortunately, is the will to target and to victimize and to scapegoat a community of people,” Gutierrez said. “I have seen that readily here. It makes for great political points but it doesn’t solve the problem and would not have saved your daughter’s life.”

Gutierrez said anti-immigrant sentiment is not new in this country.

“The Irish [were] the dirty, filthy element that was coming here to undermine America. Well, it gave us a President Kennedy,” he said.

Rep. Gutierrez recently embarked on a five-week tour, visiting 16 American cities, to “document the harm” caused by the lack of “comprehensive immigration reform.” As part of his Family Unity Immigration Outreach Tour, Gutierrez held community meetings for U.S. citizens whose families are at risk of “being torn apart by a broken immigration system.”

Do you beleive this drunk illegal alien lawyer says had no intention of stealing the car with woman & child?

Do you beleive this drunk illegal alien lawyer says had no intention of stealing the car with woman & child inside ?An illegal Mexican immigrant was drunk last month when he got into a car in Murrysville with a woman and her 10-year-old daughter and had no intention of hijacking the vehicle, his defense attorney said in court Tuesday.

District Judge Charles Conway of Murrysville dropped a robbery charge against Noe Tovar Baltazar but held him for trial on attempted robbery following a preliminary hearing.

The 23-year-old illegal alien is being held in the Westmoreland County Prison because he could not post the $20,000 bond. Federal authorities have lodged a detainer against Baltazar, who likely will be deported to Mexico once the case against him is completed.

Public Defender L.A. Smith argued that because he was intoxicated on March 18, Baltazar had no intention of stealing the car occupied by Rachel Reidel and her daughter, who were parked at the Village of Murrysville plaza.

“This clearly did not happen,” Smith told the judge. “The man obviously doesn’t understand English and the customs and culture of our country. He may be looking for a ride.”

Assistant District Attorney Mike Pacek said Baltazar attempted to reach for the steering wheel or the keys. That proves Baltazar’s intention, he said.

“In any culture, a man getting into a car with a woman and child is unacceptable. No culture in the world would accept that,” Pacek said. “He intended to get a ride from these ladies — if necessary, by force.”

The diminutive Baltazar sat quietly next to Smith listening to the testimony as an intepreter translated.

Charles Hirschy testified he was sitting in his car in the parking lot waiting for his wife when he saw Baltazar “come out of nowhere.” Baltazar was standing behind Reidel’s car and began to move along the passenger side, he said.

“I was watching him. He slowly moved to the passenger’s side … and began to walk to the side of the car,” he testified.

Hirschy said Baltazar opened the door and got into the car where the girl was sitting. He said Reidel got out of the car screaming.

“I heard her say, ‘This is a carjacking,’ or something to that effect,” Hirschy testified.

Murrysville police Officer Christopher Smith testified the girl attacked Baltazar.

“She started to scream, kick and actually elbow the man in the stomach,” Smith said.

Baltazar fled toward the rear of the plaza where another officer found him crouching behind a Dumpster, Smith said. He was taken into custody and was identified by Reidel, her daughter and Hirschy.

Smith said a subsequent investigation revealed that Baltazar was an illegal alien.

I am divorcing my husband who is an illegal alien…?

  • Posted on September 7, 2010 at 3:22 pm

He is an illegal alien and we had not filed any paperwork at all with the INS. We got married 1 year ago in a state that did not require proof of legal residency to marry, only birth certificates and photo ID. He has a warrant in another state from skipping court on a DWI. He also has a conviction for domestic violence (against me). We have a house together and both our names are on the title. Do I have to give him any $$ if I sell the house, sine he is on the title? Also, we have a daughter together who is 4 months old, and his name is on her birth certificate. He says he will not pay me a cent of child support. How do I garnish his wages if he is illegally working here? I know where he works and who is employer is, I drive by there all the time and see his truck parked out front. I do not want him deported, I just want him to pay me support. He has left me with the house payment and all the bills and I am going broke…

What do U think at least the third illegal alien charged with driving while intoxicated since June 8?

  • Posted on January 4, 2010 at 9:09 am

SOUTHEAST – A Connecticut man in the country illegally from Mexico is being held at the Putnam County jail on a federal immigration detainer warrant after a Putnam deputy charged him this week with driving while intoxicated, police said today.Putnam Deputy Kevin McManus was on patrol Tuesday around 3:20 a.m. when he stopped Esteban De Jesus Munoz-Adame, 27, of 6 Prindle Lane in Danbury, Conn., for a traffic violation, police said. McManus determined he was under the influence and charged him with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, police said.

Munoz-Adame is at least the third illegal alien charged with driving while intoxicated in the Brewster area since June 8, when Zacaria Conses-Garcia, a 35-year-old Guatemalan who authorities say was in the country illegally, drove drunk through Brewster and struck and killed a 37-year-old mother and her 8-year-old daughter as they were leaving the girl’s dance class.

Munoz-Adame was arraigned before Town Justice Richard Vercollone, who sent him to the Putnam County jail in Carmel in lieu of $500 bail.

Once Munoz-Adame arrived at the jail, authorities determined he was in the country illegally from Mexico and contacted federal Immigration and Custom Enforcement, which placed a detainer warrant on him, police said.

Why does carol p say story of an East Oakland illegal alien drunk driver that I’m not supposed to mention?

  • Posted on January 2, 2010 at 8:33 pm

An Oakland man charged Monday with murdering two children in a Thanksgiving night hit-and-run crash told his 17-year-old nephew moments before impact that he didn’t care if he or the teenager died as a result of his speeding, a prosecutor said.
Carmelo Salas, 28, was charged with murder in the deaths of Stephanie Cervantez, 14, and her 4-year-old cousin, Jacklin Munguia-Herrera, for allegedly running a stop sign in East Oakland and crashing his Ford Expedition sport utility vehicle into a Ford Mustang carrying the victims about 7:20 p.m. Thursday.Salas fled after the crash at 89th Avenue and D Street but was arrested early the next morning, police said.He was charged with murder under the theory of implied malice, which is defined as engaging in an unlawful act done in “conscious disregard” of the risk to human life, prosecutor Norbert Chu said. Salas told his nephew, who was in the SUV with him, that he wasn’t afraid to die and that he would take his nephew with him, Chu said. Salas was going as fast as 80 mph in a 25-mph zone, and the nephew warned him seconds before impact that the Mustang was approaching, the prosecutor said.Salas was also charged with two counts of assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury for hurting Jacklin’s mother, Laura Herrera, 23, who was driving the Mustang, and Herrera’s daughter, Evalyn Munguia, 3. Both Herrera and Munguia remain hospitalized in critical condition, authorities said.

Salas was also charged with kidnapping his nephew to ride with him in the SUV, Chu said. The nephew feared for his safety because he knew Salas could be “volatile” when he was drinking, Chu said. Police said the nephew helped identify the suspect.

Police believe Salas was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. But prosecutors didn’t charge him with DUI because several hours elapsed before he was arrested, making it impossible to measure his blood-alcohol level when the accident happened.

Salas is also the subject of a hold by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement because he is in the United States illegally from Mexico, authorities said.
