Like, with George W. Bush’s daughters, there was the drunk driving incident. Jimmy Carter’s daughter was known as a rebellious spirit back in her day, and everyone knows of Bill Clinton’s marital issues in the White House.
Now, I’m not saying that family troubles is a good thing.
But every family has SOME problems, once in a while, and when our presidents’ families have them, I think on a gut level we try and relate to that.
Yet with Obama… everything his daughters and wife says is *too* choreographed, and unspontaneous.
I know in one photo one of Obama’s daughters was peeking out from under the desk while Obama worked… I’m sure they tried to replicate JFK, Jr.’s famous pic.
