Can my daughter move out of state with her baby without the dad?

  • Posted on March 30, 2011 at 12:17 am

My daughter and her ex-boyfriend had a baby in senior year. They are now over 18 and have dealt with an ugly break up. They have not gone to court yet to spell everything out but she’s having a rough time. In my opinion neither one of them is capable of caring for their 11 month old child without help. His mother is an alcoholic and been in a mental institiution for threatening to burn the house down and kill her kids. My grandaughter’s father is not a bad dad. He loves her and is trying just like my daughter. The problem is my daughter is faced with possibly being homeless within 5 months and has no family in Texas to help her. I live in Nevada and have a large home for her and the baby to come to and help them get on their feet. I have no intention of the daddy not seeing my grandaughter. Like I said he’s a good dad, just young. Even if it means I have to pay for a few plane tickets for him to see his daughter. I just want to help. I know if he were to pursue it in the courts he can order the child back to Texas but I’m scared my daughter can get into legal trouble worse than that. If she’s ordered back to Texas it would be fine, I’m hoping she will be done with her college education at that point and then be able to support her and the baby themselves.

baby but her parents are pretty high up in the political latter here. She has driven drunk with the baby(4yrs old) in the car, and the child knows what is going on, thats the worst part. one night she asked who was going to drive them home “mommy drank bad stuff” and this week alone she has spent 1 night with her daughter, the other 6 shes been with the grandmother. should I report her? to help us get custody?

newborn baby has thrush on her bum – how long does it take to clear? tips to make nappy change less painful?

  • Posted on February 12, 2011 at 5:24 am

My 7 day old daughter has thrush on her bum. Its very raw and very sore for her. She screams at every nappy change, especially if she does wees while her nappy is off. I think it must sting like crazy. I use huggies nappies and i am just using warm water and a very soft cloth on her bottom, i also am not wiping, i just sort of dab it. I dry her bum afterwards and then i apply the cream my midwife prescribed for her. We started using the cream yesterday and she said to use it at every nappy change for 3 or 4 days, however its the end of day 2 (well we started using it yesterday afternoon) and i havnt noticed any change, it definately hasnt got any better yet. I give her as much time as i can without a nappy on but she is usually screaming and crying that its hard to settle her without her nappy on. I have stopped drinking orange juice and eating acidic foods to see if that helps. Also she is fully breastfed. So if anyone has any help that would be great
Oh.. its a diaper. We call them nappies. Im from one of those ‘weird’ countries that put a ‘u’ in everything too. Labour, honour, colour etc.

Why are people obsessed with Bristol Palin having a baby?

  • Posted on February 9, 2011 at 1:21 pm

This was noted in People magazine??! The Vice President’s daughter, Ashley, was caught on videotape snorting lines of cocaine. Why isn’t the liberal press reporting on this at all?

7 month old baby with a chest infection?

  • Posted on February 4, 2011 at 9:26 pm

My Daughter has spent the last week in hospital with a combination of tonsillitis and a chest infection. Where she picked them up from is beyond me but needless to say, she has been very poorly with an exceptionally high temperature. We are home now and she is on slow-release antibiotics but her cough, which is dry and hacking, is absolutely choking her and making rest and sleep very difficult.

We have tried elevating the upper end of the cot and our own bed too as she often ends up with us and are trying to limit the use of her dummy as she sleeps because this tends to make her cough worse. The cough is probably worsened by the fact that her liquid intake is minimal at the moment due to her sore throat but I wondered if any of you had any ideas on how I can make her more comfortable? You and I would go out and drink every cough syrup off the shelf but obviously, that isn’t an option and the hospitals advice of ‘gentle back rubs’ isn’t very helpful in the middle of the night when actually all she wants to do is rest, not be moved or propped up for some vigorous rubbing.

Any tips?

baby hasn’t wet her diaper?

  • Posted on January 6, 2011 at 1:24 pm

every morning when i wake up with my daughter, i change her diaper first, and its usually pretty full. this morning, her diaper was completely dry. she hasn’t had diarrhea, but she has pooped (which is what she usually does within an hour of me changing her first diaper). I fed her a 6 oz bottle and she drank 1 1/2 oz of water. she isn’t on solid foods yet, except the rice cereal. how long should i wait before i call the doctor. its probably been 12 hours since her last wet diaper.
she just turned 5 months old
my daughter just wet in her diaper completely! and its A LOT!

father’s rights/ family’s rights to baby?

  • Posted on January 3, 2011 at 7:21 pm

my baby’s father is debating whether he wants to sign our daughter over to me/my boyfriend because he doesn’t want to have to pay child support (money matters more than anything to him including his own daughter). i just want to know if he does end up signing his rights over does his pain in the ass mother have her own rights to my daughter? like can she take me to court and have court ordered visitation because someone told me she can and i’ve never heard of this. if he signs her over i thought he’d be no more than a sperm donor. i also think it would be really messed up for them to order me to let her see my daughter when his entire extended family are a bunch of heroin addicts (not the baby’s father or his mother- but they will take my daughter over to hang out with the drug addicts because they have no common sense). any positive and knowledgeable feedback would be greatly appreciated thanks!!

My niece had a baby Jan 26. The baby has colic. The father is an alcoholic?

  • Posted on December 23, 2010 at 6:17 pm

Tonite, I set her up in a nice motel with the baby. She just cant take it anymore. The father of the baby is a total mental misfit and thank the Lord she didnt marry him. He has made my niece cry at least 4-5 times in the last couple of weeks and I have never seen her cry. He is very critical, says she cant do anything righ and he real is just a drunken slob.
She took me up on my motel room for the nite offer and I am hoping she can get some peace. I sent my daughter who is 19 and able to babysit along, so she can just relax. Should I do anything else to help her out or just stay out of it? Is this wrong? We did not tell him where she is and I am playing stupid. I am an advocate for domestic violence victims because I was in the same situation 20 yrs ago, and do not feel like I had any support. I just am trying to help her out…and he is an alcoholic and I cannot believe how terrible he talks to her. Its a matter of time before he starts becoming physically abusive.
