My mother in law was babysitting my daughter and got totally drunk..?

My mother in law.. was watching my daughter tonight so my husband and I could go out for my birthday. She offered last night, so she’s known she was watching her. When we dropped her off to her, she’d had a few drinks but one of her friends we knew and trusted was with them, and told me she was driving them straight home (she insisted she’d had nothing to drink). They were at the American Legion..
About an hour later she called and told my husband that baby was asleep and they were home.
Anyways a couple hours later I get hysterical calls from his mother and her friend.. telling us we had to come get them now before they go to jail. We rushed there and when we arrived the police were there. One of them told me that ‘apparently’ they had come to McDonald’s because the kids were hungry (he’s telling me what they told him) and the friend went in to get the food. While she was inside my mother in law and some guy got into an argument.. keep in mind, there is a 2 year old and an 8 year old in the back of this car, it’s midnight, and she is completely and totally trashed, by this time she had puked twice in the back of the car, she was so drunk. Anyways, the friend comes out of McDonald’s and the guy and his girlfriend are up in her face, it escalates to an actual fight and the guy is kicking her in the ribs and punching her in the face. People see it (the friend is a solider in uniform) and calls the cops, and when the cops arrived they gave breathalyzers to both the friend and my mother in law… and the friend that was driving blew .12, which is .04 over the limit. She kept insisting she hadn’t had anything to drink but was slurring her words.. I don’t think they ever went home, I think they drove around until baby fell asleep, and then parked the car, went into a bar, and left the 8 year old (her son) to watch my baby. What if something happened? What if the guy my mother in law started an argument with pulled out a gun and shot them all? What the fuck are they thinking drinking while they’re watching my child anyways?
I asked the cops if they could be arrested for child endangerment, after all, they were the ones who told me about the breathalyzers. The lady cop told me they ‘pondered’ that, then kind of waved her hands and walked away. WTF? I want this woman arrested. Both of them.
My question is.. now what? It’s Christmas and I don’t even want to think about her right now. But my daughter will be yelling for ‘Nana’ and we’ll of course see her during the holidays.. how do I handle this? I kept my cool when it all happened, but that’s only because there were cops… I wanted to strangle them both. I could tell they were both drunk as soon as I saw them.
