I have been dating a black guy with a biracial daughter (blac/japanese) and he does not discpline her….help?

I met this guy in January of 2006 while he was legally separted from his wife, who lives in Japan. They have a daughter together who is 8. He met her back in the military…you know how the story goes with these military relationships. He moved back to the states about 2 years ago and the mother decided that she did not want him or the daughter and left.
I met him and have tried my darndest to accept his daughter, but my problem is her lack of respect from me and attitude. He spoils her rotten and is not consistent with disicpline. He did admit that she is not used to boundaries or discpline. My problem is that since the mother has left she tries to act like his ‘girlfriend or wife”. She has referred to him, in front of me, that her daddy his her man and said this in a matter-of-fact sultry tone. She calls him names like stupid and manipulates the hell out of him. He is addicted to porn and I sometimes “wonder” about their relationship. Is something going on?
Correction, I met him in January of 2007. During the early part of our relationship we talked about her behavior and things seemed to get better, 6 months later we are battling the same thing. I mentioned to him that she is going to give any women that he with a hard time. He keeps saying that he is going to work on her behavior, but he is not consistent. She questions me like she is an adult, throws her mother in my face, even though her mother does not give a damn about her. He agrees with me and then turns around and gets defensive about the whole situtation about disiplining her. When me and him are together it is a match made in heaven, but when she is around we begin to argue and fight. I cant believe that a parent cant control their 8 year old child. She is only 8, but has the demeanor and attitude of a teenager. In addition, she walks around the house without shirt on when she is getting dressed. Is this appropriate for a 8 year old who is being raised by her father?

What are good hair products to use for my biracial 3 year old daughter’s hair?

My daughter has very long and curly hair. It reminds me of Sarah Jessica Parker’s hair throughout the entire 6 season’s of Sex and the City. I say that because different parts of her hair remind me of the many looks of SJP throughout the years; the only major difference is that my daughter’s hair gets extremely dry after a few hours and it doesn’t help that we live in Arizona. I am a biracial woman and her father is hispanic so she ended up with very fine hair that is curly but very dry. I have tried the suave kids hair line, motions, garnier fructise and plain old water but none of this works, her hair simply drinks up the moisture. Her curls are also starting to fall a bit, I’m assuming from me utilizing the ponytail and bun method. I feel guilty but her hair dries up too quickly and looks like a brown cotton ball and she complains that it is in the way. Also, could it be time for her first trim?
