This is the 2nd night in a row my 3 y/o step daughter has had a bloody nose. The 1st night she didn’t wake up and I didnt notice till she woke me up this morning. There wasn’t really that much blood. Just a few drops on her sheets and some on her hand where she had wiped it.
The 2nd time was tonight. I was watching a movie and heard a cry, went to check on her and blood was dripping everywhere. She was so terrified that it took me 30 mins to calm her down.
I did a few searches and the only thing I could find was vitamin C defficiency but she takes a daily vitamin and drinks juice every morning for breakfast. She drinks water all day long so I doubt it was dehydration. The only thing I can think of is the heat. Its been very dry but I keep the house nice and cool so the air shouldn’t be dry. Should I get a humidifier? Tight budget so really can’t afford to take her to the dr for a nose bleed.

I appreciate the quick responses. I did remain calm and made a game out of cleaning the blood up..so thats what ultimately calmed her down. Poor thing thought she was in trouble cause she got blood on her favorite sheets.
We live in the austin, tx area and oddly enough it is extremely dry lately. I would try the bucket of water, but again..she is 3 lol… thats just a mess waiting to happen. I think i’ll try the humidifier.
I too had bloody noses growing up but I have really horrible allergies. She’s never had bloody noses before and hates to pick her nose..she thinks its yuky lol. No known allergies as of yet so I’m kind of at a loss here…not too sure about the ointment for her nose. But if this continues I’m sure i’ll try anything once.
