I was married for 4 years, and was with my ex husband for 6 prior to that. we have 2 beautiful daughters from our relationship. after the birth of our second daughter he became addicted to meth. it changed our lives forever. when our youngest turned one, i left with the kids.
i can’t get over him. i’ve dated others, i’ve tried maintaining the mindset that i did what was best for us. the kids miss him, as do i. he’s been in rehab and seems to be getting it together. the only problem is, he moved in with a woman he started seeing after we left. he admitted he was lonely and figured we were gone for good. he holds a grudge against me for leaving. he says i should have loved him through good and bad. he was stealing from us and would look me in the eye and lie about it. i just couldn’t deal with it anymore.
he says we’ll never be together again. i say the same, yet deep down, i feel like maybe i did let him down. maybe i should have stayed. i really don’t know. most days i’m confident that i did what was right, then there’s days like today, when i feel crushed and mortified by all of this.
what do i do? how do i stop feeling so heartbroken and lost? i feel like i lost my best friend and my soul mate.
please help!
