Could clementines cause a cold sore?

  • Posted on March 16, 2011 at 1:21 pm

My daughter has been addicted to clementines and has been eating two a day for maybe a week and a half and maybe skipped like one or two days and like it’s been two weeks since my daughter has started her clementines addiction and she just now got like two cold sores, one at the corner of her lips and one below the bottom lip. Should she stop eating them for a while? or is there no connection between them??

Please help if you can…..what could cause my milk supply to all but disappear in just 2 days

  • Posted on December 5, 2010 at 11:24 am

I am breastfeeding a 6.5 mth old baby girl and had some supply probs around 3 mths. All sorted and has been fine for the last 3 mths.

2 days ago I didn’t have enough milk to feed her one feed, now I don’t have any for any feeds. Even the night feeds when I normally have an abundance….I have none.

I know my boobs and my daughter and I know I’m empty. I’m not ill, I’ve been eating and drinking normally, I’m tired but that’s normal.

What could cause me to ‘dry up’ in 2 days flat?

Please help if you can, I don’t want to give her formula but will have to soon if this keeps up as she’s not getting anything and is very hungry now.
She’s allergic to something in all the commercial formulas (we’ve not found out what yet) so she would have to have prescription formula from the drs. Isomil it’s called….anyone tried it?

Cause of & treatment for enlarged red blood cells? Fatigue?

  • Posted on November 2, 2010 at 4:32 pm

I’m seeing a doc very soon and want to be armed with all of what I should ask to treat my enlarged red blood cells, which was brought up by my doc’s substitute on my last visit. I would like to finally get to the bottom of why I am often so very tired that I feel as if I can hardly lift my arms, etc – going on 3 yrs. I do not have a family med history because I was adopted, except that a daughter has Juvenile Diabetes and Addison’s disease. I did have Rheumatic Fever. That’s all I know. I’m already taking B12 shots every 2 weeks, I’m vegetarian, and I don’t drink at all. However I have a lot of specific joint pain and so have been taking a lot of Tylenol (Acetaminophen) for decades. I’ve read that enlarged blood cells are associated with alcoholism, and wonder if I could be in the same class – liver damage due to the Acetaminophen = the large red blood cells? What else could it possibly be? Thanks!
Fab: that link is to buy online blood pressure meds – my bp is perfect
Ann: confused at ad for coffee ? i don’t drink it anymore

Is this a cause for concern?

  • Posted on October 18, 2010 at 7:24 pm

My 13 month old daughter has a bit of a cold right now. No fever, I’ve been checking her temperature throughout the day. It’s been hovering around 97-98 degrees. She just has a cough and a runny nose.
When she woke up this morning, she had a pretty full diaper, normal for her. But she hasn’t had a single wet/dirty diaper since then. She’s been up since about 9am and it’s 6:30pm now. I’ve checked her quite a few times today and the diaper has been dry every time.
She’s been drinking only water all day, because of her cold. So she should have had wet diapers by now.

Other than the cold, she’s perfectly fine. Active for most of the day, she’s tired now so she’s going to bed early. She still has a reasonable appetite, it’s been cut about in half but she’s still getting food in her.
So I can’t think of any reason why she’s not wetting any diapers. She’s getting plenty of fluids, she’s eating.

Could the dry diapers have anything to do with her cold? She’s had a few colds before but they never resulted in her not going to the bathroom.
And after how long of no wet diapers should I start getting concerned? She’s always had plenty of wet diapers throughout a day so I’m lost on this one.
Okay, I just checked her diaper again and we had some pee this time!

It was still normal colour and she’s had tears all day (she’s been very cranky because of her runny/stuffy nose) so I’m thinking it’s not dehydration. Thanks for the suggestions! I’m still gonna give the doctor a quick call even though she had 1 wet diaper :)

Divorce and my rights? Does she get paid cause I have a mental disorder?

  • Posted on October 7, 2010 at 4:32 pm

Well here goes. I have been married 4 years in June. Out of those 4 years I deployed 25 months all together. Over both deployments she moved back to Oklahoma with our two children. It was both of our decision as was both our decision for her not to have employment, due to costs of childcare. We agreed on this. I always told her it was her decision. After my first deployment, I came home, and got into it with alcohol. I seeked help from a military source. Our marraige was steadily in turmoil due to her abusive and destructive temper tantrums and rage issues. After I deployed again, it became obvious to me as well as our friends and family, that she was going to go to the bars, drink, and party every chance she got. That caused countless problems and fights when I would call home to find she was out and the kids was with a sitter. I was furious, it was almost nightly. Then rumors of infidelity arose. I was being told by numerous sources both trusted and a little shady, that she had been permiscuous, and had cheated on more than one occasion. With 14 months of me trying to tell her that it is excessive and that a wife and mother should not behave this way, I lost all trust in her. Almost every conversation was about who she was with and what she was doing. Upon my redeployment home, the home became a house full of eggshells. I couldnt hardly talk to her without her blowing up on me and fighting about everything. She drank, and fights would become physical. She has been witnessed by friends and family of the outbreaks of rage and her destructive behavior. One night it became severe. We fought, she threw punches, and held her down, and tried to just get my things and leave. She followed me out the door with a knife. I disarmed her called the cops, and she was charged with 4 degree domestic assault. They left the knife out of the police report because I didnt want her charged with a felony. I bailed her out, we talked and came to the conclusion to get counseling. We argued a little here and there but not so bad. She had been ordered to take domestic violence classes, and had probation for 2 years. A close friend of hers died back in OK, so naturally she wanted to go back to the funeral. We have one vehicle, so I coordinated to get a ride to work until the end of the week. Her and the kids went back to OK. A day later in she allowed her anger to resurface and got into an altercation with her 17 year old sister in law. She was arrested and charged with domestic assault, in which she has pleaded not guilty. I was furious. I was left without a vehicle and my stepson was missing school. I told her I was coming to get the car and the kids. She agreed to allow my stepson to come back with me, along with our daughter. That was on march 16th. She has been bar hopping, doing drugs, and yet some more rumors of infidelity have surfaced. there has not been a conversation on the phone we have not fought and threatened divorce. I have had the kids on my own, in the military, a 5 yr old stepson, and 2 year old daughter. She has missed her court date here, as well as her classes. She has a warrant out for failure to appear, and violating her probation. Her court date in OK is July 8th. Well I have recently had been talking to a counselor that has talked about me having PTSD. Not a severe case, although in a divorce case she plans to use my PTSD(unconfirmed), distrust, and alcoholism(first deployment) as grounds for getting everything, the kids the car alimony and all that. I cant afford an attorney unless the are pro bono and the military laywers dont help with divorces. I dont know what to do!!!! I need answers…

Can Heroin use cause permenant short term memory problems?

  • Posted on August 2, 2010 at 7:21 pm

My 16 yr old daughter is a recovering heroin addict.(1 year)When she returned to school both she and her teacher noticed she was having problems with her short term memory.Paying closer attention at home,I began to notice she couldn’t remember things that happened just a few minutes ago. Sometimes it seems worse depending on the task. This is really starting to bring her down. Is there any techniques that she can learn to help ,especially in the school enviroment ? Has anyone else had to deal with this type of problem and is it common among ex-heroin users?
