Why are some Christians so hypocritical?

Why are some Christians so hypocritical? I met a couple that thinks abortion is bad and homosexuality is bad. They base their views on homosexuality on the bible, specifically the Old Testament. Where is states that “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.” (Lev.18:22) & “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.” (Lev.20:13).

So if they are following the rules of the old testament, then abortion should be OK. In fact it is a good thing:

If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life. — Exodus 21:22-23

And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation shall be three shekels of silver. — Leviticus 27:6

Number the children of Levi after the house of their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them. And Moses numbered them according to the word of the LORD. — Numbers 3:15-16

Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts. — Hosea 9:14

Yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb. — Hosea 9:16

Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up. — Hosea 13:16

Because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die. — 2 Samuel 12:14

The priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell. And this water that causeth the curse shall go into thy bowels, to make thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to rot: And the woman shall say, Amen, amen. …
And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people. And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed. — Numbers 5:21-21, 27-28

Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt. — Genesis 38:24

So, since miss-representing the bible could be construed as blasphemy, can I stone them to death as stated in Leviticus 24:13-16 “And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying … he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him.”

Why are Christians pro-life if God is pro-choice?

What the Bible says about Abortion
Abortion is not murder. A fetus is not considered a human life.

“If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life.” — Exodus 21:22-23

The Bible places no value on fetuses or infants less than one month old.

“And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation shall be three shekels of silver.” — Leviticus 27:6

Fetuses and infants less than one month old are not considered persons.

“Number the children of Levi after the house of their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them. And Moses numbered them according to the word of the LORD.” — Numbers 3:15-16

God sometimes approves of killing fetuses.

“Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.” — Hosea 9:14

“Yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb.” — Hosea 9:16

“Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.” — Hosea 13:16

God sometimes kills newborn babies to punish their parents.

“Because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.” — 2 Samuel 12:14

God sometimes causes abortions by cursing unfaithful wives.

“The priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell.
And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed.” — Numbers 5:21-21, 27-28

God’s law sometimes requires the execution (by burning to death) of pregnant women.

“Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.” — Genesis 38:24

Christians…. please explain

the following are two accounts of true experiences of NDE’s.
I know the Atheist view is that we have a few minutes of brain activity prior to ceasing to exist…I am interested and this is targeted toward christians who believe you have to ask to be saved for heaven.

1. 1952….he lay dying on his couch, he had never opened a bible, set foot in a church, or been baptised. In fact, he had never even spoken about God to anyone. Further more, he despised religion. His daughter asked him if she could get him anything, he asked for a glass of water. when she returned with it, he said….”I dont need that water, I am drinking from a fountain that will never run dry”. and closed his eyes in death. He was however, a kind and generous man.

2. 1991…she was a whore, by christian standards. she partied, did drugs, etc etc…. she hated God and wasnt even sure he existed. and if he did, he wasnt much of a god. The car wreck, stopped her heart. what she seen next, was an angel, and her life pass before her eyes. she signed her name in a book and was about to enter heaven, when she decided she couldnt leave her son behind. she had perffect peace, and was told it was beautiful there and wanted to go in.

I am curious about these, because most christian doctrines teach that you have to accept the Lord in order to be saved… yet the verse in revelation that they take this from, simply says, to the churches to clean themselves up and the lord would come in and dine with them. If you have to accept Jesus in order to get into heaven, how is it possible that these two religious rejects, were entering into heaven without ever accepting Jesus? But, both, though admitted sinners, were kind and loving people.?
C…of course….I mean, YOU couldnt be wrong….could you?
Hokey…the second story, not only was she not given a choice…even when she returned to the living, she still did not accept Jesus….
Helives….point blank…. the 2nd story…..the last words out of her mouth, were.YOU Fing A$$hole…trust me..no acceptance there at all.
DIXIE…the 2nd story was ME………I did NOT accept anything. thats not an assumption…thats a fact.
