Losing child to drunk driver.?

  • Posted on April 2, 2011 at 5:23 pm

Yesterday, I was reading a week old newspaper that arrived in the mail from my old hometown. My ex lives there along with my only child a daughter who was to graduate this coming June 2007.

As I do everytime i get this paper I read every page saving the obit’s or the last. It’s a small town and thus paper isn’t more than 20 pages including classified ads.

I get to the last page which contains the obit’s and first thing i see is a picture of my daughter and her obituary, she was killed in a traffic accident, the funeral was held and lists various family members including me and date and time the funeral was held.

I was in total shock I was and still am numb, but getting more furious by the minute that i wasn’t notified of my daughter’s death.

I feel like driving the 120 miles to this small town jerking my ex and her husband out of their house and beating their butts into the ground for not giving me the courtesy of so much as a phone call.
Am I wrong to feel this way?
My ex fought both my daughter and I for years about us having a close relationship, always accusing us of loving each other more than her. We’ve been close since she was born and had to hide our communications and visits with each other from her mother.

Joe Biden likes to tell the story that his family was killed by a drunk driver?

  • Posted on March 5, 2011 at 7:23 am

It isn’t true. As recently as a month ago he told a group he was speaking to that his wife & daughter were killed years ago by a truck driver that drank his lunch instead of eating it.

The facts are his wife was driving the car along with their 3 children and SHE drifted over into the lane of an oncoming tractor trailer. The driver did everything in his power to avoid hitting them, but could not.

This was a story I saw on a show on CBS, of all stations. When asked why he is passing fiction off as fact, he said “The deaths of his wife and daughter have always been the focus of his life, but it served no purpose to dredge up the details.” So, why is he putting lies out there? Is he going for the sympathy vote now?

Drunk driver killed a 2 yr old, &step mom -2yr old was not in car seat or strapped in is there a law suit?

  • Posted on January 28, 2011 at 1:23 pm

The father of the 2 year old was driving. They were hit by a 19 year old drunk driver. Killed in the car was the 2 yr old child of the driver, his wife, the father/driver and the couple’s daughter survived the crash. The 2 year old was not in a car seat or strapped in the car. Their van flipped over and the 2 yr old was thrown out of the car and suffered terrible head injury and died at the scene of the crime. Will the insurance company hold the father of the 2 yr old responsible and thus no compensation because he did not have the 2 yr old secured by law? The 19 year old drunk driver does have car insurance.

Daughter’s school bus driver is dangerous/weird. School won’t do anything. HELP!?!?

  • Posted on January 17, 2011 at 1:22 pm

Hi, our elem school-aged daughter’s school bus driver is very weird. She does things like hums all throughout the trip to the school, gives the kids racist nicknames (our daughter is of Latin American heritage and she calls her Dora, and she calls another taller black boy Little Shaq), and is often 5-6 minutes late picking up our daughter from the stop. She is dangerous b/c she drinks coffee … WHILE DRIVING THE BUS! Do you really need yoru Starbucks so bad you cannot wait until after you’re done with yoru shift?
I talked to her about her behavior, and she just smiled and said “Well, I’ll do my best”. I also talked to the principal and vice-principal, and they said they will look into it but NOTHING HAS CHANGED.

License Revoked Driver Question. Comments Please?

  • Posted on October 15, 2010 at 12:22 am

My daughter 21, lets her BF 32 drive her car. His drivers license was REVOKED due to several DWI’s She frequently lets him drive her car. Sometimes he drives the car with their newborn child inside. QUESTION: If he is ever ‘pulled over’ by the police, is there a chance that he will be arrested and also WHAT would happen the the baby that is in the car. I discussed this with my daughter and she said that there would be ‘no problem at all’ to worry about. I just am not easy about this. Your comments appreciated.
Note: Daughter has the minimal amount of insurance available. She states that she is ‘fully insured’ and that the insurance company covers the BF too even though he is unlicensed.
Daughter is the sole title owner. It is in her name only.

Supporters of illegal immigration please tell me what would you tell this family Drunk driver disappears?

  • Posted on September 27, 2010 at 5:23 pm

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – A family member who has lost her daughter and grandson said she is outraged because the man allegedly connected to their deaths has disappeared.

“He’s gone and they don’t even know where he is,” said Belinda Thomas, mother.

“He [Vicente Gonzalez] disguised himself in whatever, he cut his hair, he did whatever he had to disguise himself and then left without permission of the doctor or the hospital taking a chance of dying,” said Sgt. Greg Sanches, Department of Public Safety spokesperson.

Sanches said Gonzalez, 30, of Corrigan, had severe injuries, including a broken leg and a bleeding brain. He said DPS didn’t think Gonzalez was a flight risk.

Gonzalez disappeared from a Houston hospital on June 8. He is charged in the deaths of Willie Lacy, 48, of Alto, Crystal Thomas, 29, of Lufkin, and Christopher Gross, 4, after he allegedly drove drunk and ran head-on into them.

“That would be a different situation, but here we’re talking about a motor vehicle accident and someone being charged with a DWI,” said Sanches.

DPS Trooper Josh Senn told KTRE on June 18th that he knew Gonzalez was out of the hospital, but gave no indication of concern that Gonzalez was missing. Sanches said hospital officials were watching him. “They have police that work at the hospital and they were notified,” said Sanches. “They [hospital police] were keeping check on Mr. Gonzalez, making sure that everything was going like it should.”

This isn’t the first time Gonzalez allegedly drove drunk. In 1999 he was charged with driving while intoxicated.

“But this time he took the lives of my family members,” said Thomas.

Sanches said Gonzalez is an illegal immigrant and believes he used false information to obtain a driver’s license. “More than likely he had to because if you’re illegal, there’s no way you can have a drivers license,” said Sanches.

Sanches said immigration officials were notified of the charges against Gonzalez on June 5. “Until they [illegal immigrants] commit a felony, then there’s nothing you can do about it,” said Sanches.

While Gonzalez was charged in the deaths, a formal warrant was not served on him and it would not be served on him until he had checked out of the hospital.

“They need to find him or give me a badge,” said Thomas.

Badge or no badge, Thomas said she will never stop looking for the man standing accused of killing her family until justice is served.

Sanches said a Crimestoppers will be made in hopes of finding Gonzalez. That Crimestoppers will air on KTRE.

What would you do about a drunk driver? What can I do?

  • Posted on September 1, 2010 at 3:26 am

If you knew of a man who was losing his 92 year old father who he is very close to, who just wrongfully lost his job & is in the middle of a law suit about it & who of course is stressed out about it all & even has depression problems, BUT who turned to drinking heavily & drove drunk with his 13 year old daughter & her friend in the back seat, scaring them half to death, would you report him? Could you report him?

How can I report this person? I live several states away from him & barely know him, but I heard this just happened & the am related to his daughter. I want that sucker in jail, I know he’s stressed & upset & who wouldn’t be, but that gives him NO RIGHT to endanger any one’s lives by driving drunk, especially children in his own car! What can I do???

do you really think it is funny for a baby to be killed by a drunk driver?

  • Posted on August 13, 2010 at 7:26 pm

In my question about my sister’s baby being stillborn and that she is depressed. I had also put in that i suffered the loss of a child too by a drunk driver.
An answerer said that “it” loved drunk drivers.

My daughter was 3 months old when we were driving to a doctor’s appointment and this no good piece of scum hit us head on and we all were hurt (myself, husband, son) But my darling daughter was the one that did not make it out of the crash alive.

To that person that made fun have you seen a bleeding, lifeless child? A child of your own? I will not go into details in how my lil angel looked but the casket could not be opened.

How can anyone i mean a human being make fun of that? Do you know that when you do make fun and wish things on people what comes around goes around?
