Why are the women in my family so hateful?

There are a few women in my extended family who are extremely hateful. First of all, I have been told by my mother that they resent me because I “got the chance” to go to college, and because I make better money than they do. While they aren’t mean to me in person, I hear numerous rumors that I find out have originally came from them, also one of them stares at me every time I’m around her. Anyways, besides that, they also pick on one other woman, who has been in our family since she married my male relative about 18 years ago. Well, that male relative of mine committed suicide a couple of years ago, and ever since then these women will NOT stop obsessing over his wife. They were separated but still married when he died, and they have children together. These hateful women say that his wife is the main reason why he committed suicide, which I find ridiculous because the man was addicted to heroin and xanax for years. Besides blaming his wife for his suicide, they call her a “class A sl*t”, “trashy”, “a shi**ty mother”, materialistic, and evil. It doesn’t stop there, they even attack her mother who is a 60 something year old grandma. They say that she was a sl*t just like her daughter is. Some of it might be true, but regardless I think it is wrong of them to say these things. Besides that it is just mean, I feel like they are forming an obsession with her. She is their main topic of conversation when they are together, but of course they are nice to her face (just like they are with me). WHY do they do this???? How can I deal with it? I try to avoid them but my mother gets offended that I don’t want to see her family even though I’ve explained to her why I dislike these particular family members….help?

Here’s a little history,am hoping someone can help me and help me to make sense of everything.I am 30 years old.I have a 13 year old daughter that my father and my step-mother have custody of and have had since my daughter was 2 months old.I had lost custody because when I was 17 and living with my mother,my mother screamed at my baby,so badly I screamed at my mother that threw me out.I was still in school,my mother had forced me to marry at 15 since my mother didn’t want me and also too,to escape abuse. My daughter’s father had walked out on us,and so I had noway to take care of a baby or anywhere else to go. My father and step-mother took in my daughter.Well my step-mother’s son when I was 14 raped me ,he died from an OD about 9 years ago,and when I told my family about it,my step mother that was in denial about it all, she threw me out and hasn’t allowed my dad to have a relationship with me and that includes not allowing me there to see my daughter,which I have visitation rights to.
Every time I talk to my daughter on the phone, she is very nasty to me,to the point I cry every time I hang up with her. My daughter has said horrible rumors about me,which aren’t true,that either my father or step-mother are telling her.I have told my daughter, I plan to go to court to make them enforce visitation,because now I am in a financial situation to be able to do so,where in the past I wasn’t..My daughter has said, she wants nothing to do with me and I know it’s from them turning her against me.
Well a month ago,my mother that lives with my brother,his wife and 2 kids,kept screaming and cussing my 2 year old nephew,telling him she hates him and hitting him over and over just for staring at her.She went on a good 10 minutes screaming and hitting him for that,which I finally talked her into walking away,that my husband heard it on speaker phone and my husband told me,we need to call social services. I didn’t want to go that route, but I have seen my mom be down right mean to my nephew once before and had tried talking sense into her and it did no good.
My husband brought up a point to me that,if I didn’t call social services,that if anything bad happened to my nephew,ie, mental problems or to be hurt physically hurt, that we’d never forgive ourselves.So we called social services and the social worker that went there to investigate the situation,couldn’t find anything wrong because they waited a week to respond after us reporting it.Anyhow, the social worker gave the time frame it had been reported and infurred so many things,my mother knew it was me.She changed her phone number,has diwonwed me and I called my father today and he said he is disowning me too because supposedly my daughter got a 15 page letter of me bad mouthing my father and I truly haven’t written anything,which leads me to believe,my mother had to of done it.
She has turned my siblings against me and apparently my father even more so and I sit here and cry,wondering where I went wrong.When I tried to explain to my dad there was never any letter from me,he got nasty and said,your whole family disowns you.He said,that’s just the way life goes. I am sad because my daughter hates me due to what my father has allowed my step-mom to do for 13 years.They have never allowed my daughter to write or call me.
You know I have forgiven my family for a lot.My mother and father knew my grandfather was sexually abusing me as a child and never did anything about it.My dad that use to be an alcoholic, beat my siblings and I daily and my mother left us kids and my dad when I was 11 to be with the man she had an affair with. There was never any discipline as far as them allowing my 2 older brothers to beat me daily,to the pont of breaking my bones, almost putting my eye out,or beating me daily and leaving bruises. However,I am not angry because I realize they’ve got their share of problems, but I am truly sad,because although I have forgiven everything and never once threw their faults in their face, they’re so hurtful to me,and I wish I knew what more to do.
Yes it’;s a toxic relationship that I should let go of,but is so hard when they’ve got my child. By the way, the judge did a court order for my dad to get custody,I fought it for 6 years but the judge denied me getting her back, due to the fact I wasn’t making enough money to support us both. After 6 years, I thought I could wait for my daughter to go to court and tell the judge herself and fight for better visitation if she wanted to stay there.However,I never would’ve thought in a million years they would not allow me there and to have turned her against me.Please someone can you offer good advice?Thank you
wow,I have never in my life done drugs,nor did I allow for him to get custody but the judge granted him the custody. Wow, so judgmental and quick to throw insults to me,when sometimes it’s cards that are delt at you.And maybe my life did suck,but I am improving it but thank you for such insults and judgment

well from the beginning i have been dating this girl off and on she is the love of my life and she loves me the same we have found new understanding in our relationship when we got back together i found out she was prego and then found out it wasnt mine i agreed to stay with her and call the baby my own her mother and family saw it different they have never met me but feel that she shouldnt be with me i never did anything to provoke them into that way of thought but instead took her daughter in when they were mistreating her at home… her mother told her not to bring me home for the holidays cus it would ruin her christmas and now her mother is calling my mother telling her all sorts of lie like im doing heroin and selling which i never touched in my life and telling my fiance that my mother said that my life was alot better with out her which is also a lie, keep in mind too that my mother is a ordain minister who has no reason to lie and her mother is a more worldly person, thanks
my mother is also diagnosed with cancer and is getting worse it seems and understand that her family is in ohio and im in arizona…. i am very happy with her im not pathetic and dont have any problems picking up women but i feel i can have a very happy life with this one just by the way we connect… her mother is very childish when i brought her back out here her mother threatend to take all her vicodin and slit her wrist it was so frustrating for the both of us, she has told her family to back off and does stick up for me… her mother wants her back with her ex, which isnt going to happen for one he’s an ugly redneck and didnt treat he with the respect and dignity a women deserves because she isnt a child anymore and i try to tell her that to build confidence im just so confused with the situation im almost in tears in thoughts of her family breaking us apart…. how should i feel, say, think i dunno please help me!

She left me in Mexico with my grandparents when I was a child. At the age of 18 I came to the USA looking for a mom, I found an alcoholic mother who always had a mess in her house. I joined the Army and left. I have a 7 year old daughter but got divorced 3 years ago. I came to live at my mom’s house in California after my divorce and took half of all expenses. My mom’s husband past away a year ago and she lost her house to a foreclosure. Now her, my brother and sister live with me. She drinks every day, the arguments have gotten worse every day specially because I don’t want a mess in my house and I don’t want to see her drunk in my house. Finally today we had the biggest argument, I don’t think I will ever speak to her again and I want her out of my life already. What should I do? I do have heart and feel bad, but this toxic environment everyday is driving me crazy!

Ethics Question About Family?

I got into a heated discussion earlier about family loyaly and ethics and I want to hear what you guys think.
If you had a son or daughter who shoplifted, would you make them return what they stole and face the consequences?
If you had a family member who you knew was driving around drunk, would you report them?

I said under both circumstances I’d turn them in. As far as stealing, if a person chooses to steal, then they chose the consequences. If a person is driving drunk, they need to be turned in before their stupidity harms someone else. The person I discussed this with says family doesn’t turn in family, and if a person turns in a family member then they have no loyalty or respect.
What do you guys think?

My wife has an older sister.the sister is 40,runs with Lesbians and had only one boyfriend in hgh school,so any of her “significant others” are not really stable or considered a threat.
Their Father consumes a 6 pack a day on average.The entire family attacks and man that the youngest daughter is with,I assume that the man such as myself becomes thrown into the “Middle Child Sydrome” in the psychlogical dealings with their family unit.
My wife ad I are now seperated with a 16 month old Son.She and my Son are living with her parents.Will my Son be thrown into the “Middle Child Sydrome ” in this family unit now?Or are their known studies on the classic alcoholic dysfunctional family on how grandchildren are intigrated into such a family unit?

So when you try to bash Gov Palins daughter, better look back in history, Obama’s own mother did the exact same thing, so Obama’s “typically white” grandmother must have failed then. His parents’ marriage took place six months before his birth on February 2nd, 1961. Nine months before Obama’s birth would be early November 1960, about three to four weeks before Ann Dunham’s 18th birthday on November 29, 1960.

im 16 and ive already decided to disown the people i have to tolerate. me and my mom are the “underdogs”. they hate her because she doesnt give me the belt like the rest do to my cousins, and they hate me because im too “opinionated”. my mom, shes cool but shes very sick and heavily medicated most of the time, so she gets ragged on about that too, they think shes an addict but shes not. seriously. my uncle, her brother, hes pshyco man. i dread every visit from him. hes her older sibling so he thinks he can still like rule over her and such. so if we dont do what he says , he will unleash hell on us, we’re screwed because no one will stand up to him but me. when hes in a fit of rage it takes 5 cops to pin him…if he doesnt get to my mom first, or me. i put up a fight, but she cant. hes the world’s biggest hot tempered redneck. dictator. hes a truck driver, that goes all over the country, wife is having an affair while hes on the road, and he talks to chicks online. his son is a perv, and apparently a pothead as well. his other son is just like him, married, marriage is stressed, and hes bi polar. my aunt think shes the creme of the crop, she thinks i will be a crack whore…..but thats soooo not me. her daughter did meth and whatever else, she never knew, and her son just got involved in something where his wife abused, and eventually caused her granddaughter to die, and he knew shortly after so he got charged with not acting soon enough or whatever. my aunt’s husband is a prick, he hates everyone. my grandma has mini strokes all the time so it makes her crazy and evil. almost all the people have been to jail once or twice, including grandma. i feel this crazy redneck family, that i do not fit into is worthy of the jerry springer show. what about yours?

Joe Biden likes to tell the story that his family was killed by a drunk driver?

It isn’t true. As recently as a month ago he told a group he was speaking to that his wife & daughter were killed years ago by a truck driver that drank his lunch instead of eating it.

The facts are his wife was driving the car along with their 3 children and SHE drifted over into the lane of an oncoming tractor trailer. The driver did everything in his power to avoid hitting them, but could not.

This was a story I saw on a show on CBS, of all stations. When asked why he is passing fiction off as fact, he said “The deaths of his wife and daughter have always been the focus of his life, but it served no purpose to dredge up the details.” So, why is he putting lies out there? Is he going for the sympathy vote now?
