What are some of your favorite food and drinks to bring on a long road trip?

  • Posted on February 19, 2011 at 1:23 pm

My husband and I will be driving a 16 foot truck to help my daughter and her husband move to their new home. It is a 12 hour drive, and maybe a bit longer because the truck may slow us down a bit. I’m looking for ideas for snacks and meals to carry with us. We’ll have a cooler and plenty of room. My daughter and her fiance will be driving a Ford Ranger, my husband and I will be driving the big ole truck.

Why does my 1 year old keep throwing up her food?

  • Posted on December 31, 2010 at 3:23 am

My daughter is almost 13 months and she throws up a lot. She had an allergy testing when she was about 8 months and it came up with only a nut allergy, so obviously I don’t give her nuts. She uses Nutramigen formula because it helps her eczema. Is it normal for children her age to throw up( she does it about once a day sometimes once every few days) I thought it could be a milk allergy, but yesterday she drank some of my milkshake and nothing happened–and on the other hand, today she drank a little bit of milk and threw it all up. She has the same pattern with cheese, sometimes she throws it up and sometimes she doesnt. When she throws up it is NOT spitting up, she heaves untill its all out and she dry heaves a few more times–and everything comes out-even things she ate hours before. Has anyone had this kind of behavior and know anything about it?

No rude comments please–I report those.

my daughter is 2 years old and only likes to drink milk and very little food. Am i alone?

  • Posted on December 11, 2010 at 9:24 pm

My daughter will be 2 in August. She weighs 24 pounds and is very healthy, Never has even had a cold. She snacks a little thru the day but goes days with only wanting organic milk. I give her food supplements so she is getting essential vitamins and nutrients but only really wants milk. Anyone in the same boat or knows how to help a picky eater?. It drives me crazy and i offer her so many choices.

My parents constantly give my daughter junk food…..?

  • Posted on October 17, 2010 at 1:24 pm

I work part time and am blessed to have my parents live next door, and watch my 20 month old for me. The problem is they are addicted to junk food, and are always feeding it to my daughter. I dont mind an occasional treat, but I am big on healthy eating and living. I have talked to them SEVERAL times and its not stopping! It would not be so bad if we only saw them once or twice a week…but daily its driving me crazy! Any advice would be great! Thank you!!!

Kids sneaking food……….?

  • Posted on October 9, 2010 at 8:17 am

Am I the only one who has kids who sneak food? I find wrappers and crumbs all over a lot from where they have been sneaking snacks. It’s chips, fruit, fruit cups, cookies, just anything. We have a good dinner every night. I don’t mind if they have treats in moderation but an entire bag of chips is just ridiculous! They don’t do it because they’re hungry. They just binge out on foods they like. I’ve told them not to do this and have asked why they do it but all I ever get is, “I don’t know”. I can’t lock all the food up or else I would. Lol. Anyone else gone through this? Any suggestions on how to curb it? Thanks for any help.

Btw: My son is 7 and my daughter is 4.
Add: I don’t want it to seem like all we have is junk food. I cook sensible meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They eat well and I allow them to have a treat after dinner. I don’t think it will hurt them in moderation. This is why I want to curb them from getting up in the middle of the night or when no one is watching and binging out. (just thought I’d clear that up.) Thanks again. :)

My 5 year old daughter is addicted to food! What should I do?

  • Posted on August 12, 2010 at 1:23 am

I have a 5 year old daughter who is at the weight of 82 pounds. And it’s tearing me up! But I can’t help it she, loves to eat! She loves to eat fried chicken, McDonald’s, mac and cheese, a med size cheese pizza, candy, Milk shakes and others. I try not to make her eat these food! I even try hiding it so she won’t get to them. But she would have this huge fit and start screaming, crying, kicking, trowing stuff around until I give in and give it to her.
I love my daughter and hate to see her so sad but I want her to lose weight. Before anything happens.

Please help what to do?
