I do i convince a judge that i am done being a criminal and want to live a life free of crime?

  • Posted on March 15, 2011 at 10:21 am

I was arrested on a check crime back in July to support my meth addiction. (I forged checks on my ex boyfriends account. We also share a daughter and he takes care of her). I knew that my life had become unmanageable and i had tried everything to break the addiction cycle. I checked into a treatment center and graduated their intensive inpatient program in 8 weeks. now i reside in a half way house. I recently excepted a managing position at a local cellular phone company that works with me so that i can attend my self help groups 5 times a week. I also go to AA/NA meetings regularly. I have been slowly paying off my debt to society. I will be getting my 6 month sobriety chip next month and i am slowly putting my life back together. I do have a public defender that said “You grabbed the bull by the horns and ran with it.” But will a judge see it that way? I am so scared to go to prison. If you were the judge would you think i deserve prison? My sentencing date is the beginning of Dec.

My 24yr old daughter lives in our house rent free. She has 50% custody of her 2yr daughter. Any suggestions?

  • Posted on March 4, 2011 at 9:23 am

My wife TOTALLY enables my daughter. Let me count the ways….1). ANYTIME, and I do mean anytime my daughter wants time for herself, my wife will babysit, no notice required and no charge. Example: Last night my daughter goes out drinking with co-workers. She leaves at 8pm. She doesn’t get home until 12 noon today. She appears to be nursing a hangover because instead of engaging her daughter in any quality time, she’s halfway asleep on the couch with the blankets pulled over her head. Take a wild guess who’s watching her child again?
My wife refuses to allow me to charge our daughter even a nominal amount of rent even though my daughter contributes ZERO to help the family in the way of chores(she doesn’t even clean up after herself or her child) or money. Her sloppiness drives me crazy. Her own child is not safe walking around my daughters bedroom it’s so messy. She doesn’t even change her 2yr old’s bed sheets. Why should she, she knows that the ” great enabler” will change them. My day started at 430am today because my beautiful grand-daughter woke up crying. Of course mom was out with her buds like she she is at least 2 nights each week. I asked my wife, “did you dump our two kids with my mom when they were little so you could continue the life style of a single girl”? She looked at me like I was nuts and said of course not. Here’s the worst part in my opinion: my daughter probably only spends 6 hours tops in a week in a one on one situation with her child and a good portion of that time is spent in front of the TV watching “Judge Judy”!
So am I the nasty, unrealistic, selfish grand-pa or does anyone reading relate to where I am coming from and have any advice. Oh, I forgot to mention, my daughter does work 40 hrs a week. So does my wife and so do I.

how do you get a free criminal background check on someone?

  • Posted on October 3, 2010 at 7:21 am

I am trying to pull a criminal back ground check on an my husbands x-wife, who has primary custody of their daughter together. She has recently been charged for writing bad checks… We have heard from credible individuals she is now on probation. However, something says this is not her first sight of law breaking trouble, she also has an addiction to methamphetimines, as well as, pills. My husband is wanting to go for full custody and this information if proven, will be very helpful in court.

What Americans need to hear about free health care

  • Posted on January 9, 2010 at 8:20 pm

I am angry and dismayed by the media and their willingness to give the loudest voice to those who are against the proposed change to a free health care system in the US. I am reading so many stories that are simply not true, many of them putting down the British NHS (National Health Service).

Some of the latest writings describe a system under which the government plays God, deciding who lives and who dies. Whilst it may be true that under the NICE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence) system not all newly developed treatments can be rolled out, but it is a careful balance rather than the murderous state the haters of reform are making it out to be.

I want to give an example of why the NHS is so wonderful, and why Americans need to talk to those people who live under such a system – find a Canadian if you can’t find a Brit! They are only next door.

In the photo are Rebecca and Bailey, my twin daughters. This was taken back in June 2003 a few days after their birth. Let me explain those first few weeks to you.

On June 2nd a problem was discovered with the pregnancy, nothing too serious but Bailey (only known medically as T2 at the time) had not grown in 2 weeks and her bigger sister, T1, was leaching all the nutrients from her. There was also a knot in T2′s umbilical cord and so an emergency c-section at 35 weeks was essential.

(Earlier in the pregnancy it was spotted that the girls were monoamniotic and monochorionic and so we had been having scans every 2 weeks. There are no charges for the doctors appointments, the scans or the follow-ups. Nothing.)

So late at night on June 2nd their mum was prepped for surgery. In attendance was a surgeon and his assistant, an anaesthetist and his assistant, a paediatrician for each twin, and 2 paediatric nurses for each twin – including their mum, me and girls, there were 14 people in that room at just after midnight.

Now it’s true we had not met the surgeon before. Lindsey did not get to choose him or his team. And even if this was not an emergency she still would not have been able to choose the surgeon (although this is starting to happen more under the NHS). But this was an emergency, the guy seemed to know what he was doing and we were underway.

How many Americans in that situation – one of the most emotionally horrific hours of my life – would be having to calculate their copay, having to call an insurance company or worst still, wondering what their house was worth because it was going to get taken off them to help pay the bill.

All we had to care about until 01:19 AM was our girls. There were no costs to worry about, no bills to pay.

When they were born there were some minor complications, T1 had to be resuscitated. But both were treated on the spot, packed up into incubators and rushed down to SCBU (Special Care Baby Unit). After an hour I was allowed down to see them to find the 2 tiny things you can see in these photos. Again, I didn’t have to worry about what treatments I could afford or not, all I had to do was sit there and watch as some of the world’s best health care was going on around me for the sake of my kids.

They spent just over 4 weeks in total in the SCBU unit, and thankfully did not have any major problems. Other children were far worse off, and some sadly don’t make it, but all were cared for to the best of that team’s ability, and apart from always struggling to find vests small enough for premature babies, the team did not lack the equipment or training they needed.

And what did it cost us when we finally got to take them home? A lot of grey hair, a box of chocolates, some flowers and a donation of 30 premature baby vests.

That’s it! There was no worrying when we got home that bills were going to start flooding through the letterbox, that we were going to lose our house or that we would have to compromise on their treatment. In fact the hospital proactively sent someone every week for a while to check on the progress.

Free.

Within the context of health care, FREE is the most powerful word. Free means you do not need to compromise. Free means everyone can go get help when they have chest pains in the middle of the night instead of worrying about their insurance, free means that lump will actually get checked. Free means less people die.

I would never claim the NHS is perfect. It is a complex system catering to 60 million people. It is internally political, it is sometimes mis-managed and there will always be horror stories of when the system fails.

But if I can give you just this one story to try and balance the utter garbage that the US media is feeding you with then job done.

I have 3 girls who are all alive today thanks to the NHS. How is that a bad thing?

Cure a Yeast Infection – Easy Ways That Will Help Keep You Yeast Infection Free Hopefully

  • Posted on January 6, 2010 at 8:20 am

Now there is a totally natural 12hour treatment available that is fast acting and will clear up that unpleasant yeast infection! If you’ve got any occurrence with them, then you are mindful of how nasty they can be.

If you can stay away from them, and don’t take any over the counter medications or any prescription medications. Although many new medical treatments do help, your body replies rather well with time tested treatments like herbs and supplements. Certain prescriptions are more expensive, and don’t work best with your bodily chemistry due to complications, these typical over the counter meds just don’t work as well as time tested natural cures. These types of medications can actually be bad for you sometimes. It certainly depends upon your body and it’s reaction to any kind of drugs. Natural treatments of course are different because, they do not change the chemical balance the body has.

Natural types of treatments have been passed down from mother to daughter, for many years and they’re easy to prepare. If a specific cure isn’t reacting effectively, then there are numerous other options from which you can pick and choose. All the natural herbs and remedies have a tendency to work much more often. These types of remedies have been used for thousands of years to help women. Think about that for a moment. Women use natural remedies before a doctor could help.

First, let’s be clear, yeast infections have to be treated by finding and eliminating the root-cause, to make the 12-hour cure work as it was designed. You are only masking a much bigger issue if you put a band aid on it! Let’s get rid of the entire problem and then you will never worry again! It only makes sense when you think about it.

If you believe you have a yeast infection, first, you should look for the A-typical symptoms like redness or sores, discomfort during sex, painful urination, continually itching, drowsiness and occasionally menstrual pains. Do not always trust that it is a yeast issue because you have some or all of the symptoms. Sometimes they are false for one infection and true for another.

Having very good hygiene is the best way to prevention of most yeast infections. You have to shower each day, and please don’t use perfumed soaps or body washes, and don’t ever put on those used dirty garments! Put your garments into the dirty hamper once you remove them, and grab a clean outfit. Make sure that laundry soap you using is enough for the load your washing as well. This is a problem for many as the underwear is just spun around in dirty water and not really cleaned properly.

Most types of yeast infections are extraordinarily agonizing, but they’re easily treated. Make sure you take care of it. Even if you’ve got a couple signs you actually need to go get checked out! Then talk with your nurse practitioner as to what your best remedy choices are. Also don’t have any intercourse until you are entirely healed from the infection. It really hurts and that is not something yu will enjoy.

These unpleasant infections can be truly shaming, thank goodness nobody can see them or tell you have them, things could be a lot worse you know! Hopefully this will help and you will be a happy woman yet once again!

Yeast infections are embarrassing and cause discomfort. Get rid of yeast infections now and make it stay away for good.

Free Advice on Residential Treatment Programs

  • Posted on January 3, 2010 at 5:20 pm

The key word here is residential. As you can imagine, any residential treatment program means the client or patient lives in the care center – they leave home. The alternative is to receive treatment as an out-patient going home each time your therapy session is over.

So the question you need to answer is, will a residential treatment program be the best way to help my troubled son or daughter? You can find the answer to that question without paying a dime. And here is how

Ask a wide variety of people. First of course you need to have your son or daughter assessed. You need to know exactly what is the problem and the cause of the problem. Seeing a relevant health professional should soon have your child diagnosed. Now you are ready to seek that free advice.

Go to your local GP. He or she will of course assist in the diagnosis but then can provide information on how best to treat the troubled teen. The best programs may be found in residential centers. And only if there is a significant reason why your child should not or cannot live away from home, would you not choose the most appropriate residential center as the place to go.

You can seek free counsel from your local state health authority who will know which facilities exist and the programs they offer. They will also know about clinics and individual health professionals in your state who specialize in the problem faced by your child.

So having discovered the cause and nature of the problem and obtained a list of relevant residential service providers, the final step is choosing which facility to use. And there are different ways you can do this.

Again take counsel from your relevant health professionals – your family doctor and any specialist you may have visited in having your child assessed. They will know which facilities are highly recommended.

Then you can and should consult any parent who has sent their child to a particular facility which is on your list. Ask about the care provided for the child concerned. Was the therapy successful? Has the child returned home a new person? Would the parent recommend the facility?

Then there is the institution itself. They will have a web site with a Q and A section, testimonials online and probably a brochure they can forward to you. Draw up a list of questions relevant to your son or daughter’s situation. Put these questions to the treatment center. Telephone if you wish and have a personal conversation. They will probably welcome visits from prospective parents of children likely to enter their program.

All the information you have collected thus far is free. Take advantage of this opportunity because you must do the right thing and choose the best treatment program for the needs of your child. Sure this may require some time and effort on your behalf but nothing is too good for the health and wellbeing of your son or daughter and the information is free.

Does predestination violate free will?

  • Posted on January 3, 2010 at 4:20 pm

In order to form any conclusion on so broad of a topic, I think that having a basis for speculation is helpful. I believe that the stories contained in the lineage of Christ located in The New Testament’s Book of Matthew encapsulate God’s attributes, reveal His general intentions, and illustrate how He gets involved in world events. With so many crises around the world spurring interest in the apocalypse, all these related issues are a hot topics.

To start off with, let’s examine descriptors we use to describe God. One word is “transcend” (to rise above or go beyond the limits of), another is “omniscient” (possessed of universal or complete knowledge), or even “omnipotent” (having virtually unlimited authority or influence). Then there is “omnipresent” (present in all places at all times), “perfect” (being entirely without fault or defect), and “sovereign” (having undisputed ascendancy). These words alone that we choose to describe God denote that His reasoning and ways are beyond what our finite minds can even begin to grasp. Considering that scholars and theologians have batted this subject around without drawing definite conclusions, I’ll decline to engage in a philosophical debate. But, I can talk clearly and definitively about my viewpoints based upon the lineage of Christ.

My favorite story involves Rahab, a woman mentioned in the Old Testament. At the point in history when the Hebrew Nation, bent on conquest, approached Jericho she was an independent businessperson of sorts, or simply put, a prostitute who owned an inn. When the Israelites’ spies infiltrated the town and then needed a place to hide, Rahab anticipated Jericho’s inevitable defeat and traded her family’s safety for that of the spies’. Eventually when the Israelites conquered Jericho and honored their promise to her, Rahab chose assimilation into the Jewish culture by marrying a Hebrew named Salmon.

About the time all this was happening in another part of the world, a woman named Naomi fled Bethlehem with her husband and two young boys toward a country forbidden to the Israelites by God because of its then-evil practices – a place called Moab. During the family’s tenure there, her men folk died and bitter old Naomi changed her name to Marra, which meant “bitter”. Left with only her two daughters-in-law, she dismissed them to return home to their families so she could journey alone back to Bethlehem. One of them, Ruth, a woman of great character, refused to leave and instead accompanied Naomi home. Unfortunately, once she arrived home, Naomi was unable to reclaim her properties because women couldn’t hold title. Dear brave Ruth, in spite of being a despised Moabitess, faced their situation squarely and went to work in the fields gleaning leftovers from what was harvested. There she met Boaz, Rahab and Salmon’s son.

Now, here’s where the story gets interesting.

If one looks closely, God’s sovereign, yet permissive hand seems apparent. Rahab, though celebrated as a heroine for hiding the spies, still had a less-than-perfect reputation as a former prostitute. It’s not too much of a stretch to assume that Boaz, though protected by his father’s name, experienced some rejection and rough treatment as a result. Unlike other men his difficulties growing up under the ambiguities his mother faced would have sensitized him to look past appearances to see character and worth in a person, as was the case of Ruth. Boaz ordered the field hands to protect her, and not to hassle her as they did other women gleaning. He eventually married her.

In my book “The Golden Thread”, I try to bring out a number of these points either subtly or blatantly. Though each individual in the story exercised free will, God used the succession of events in both families to advance His purposes for good – both in their lives and to continue the lineage leading to His Son’s birth. I believe Rahab’s choices culminating with Boaz marrying Ruth portray how free will is worked into God’s higher purposes. Naomi even got a new grandchild – and of course he, Obed, was listed in the lineage of Christ Jesus.

When “The Golden Thread” needed background material incorporated into it I included the story of Joseph – the son of Jacob and the brother of Ruben who is listed in the Gospel of Matthew. Though outside the lineage of Christ, it is relevant to the book. Joseph, of whom you may be aware, was the youngest and favored of his twelve brothers. Enraged by their father’s flagrant favoritism his brothers sold Joseph to a slave trader and then pretended a wild lion had killed him. Over time, Joseph grew up into a man that even impressed a Pharaoh. His gift of being able to interpret dreams through the power and intervention of God won him a place at Pharaoh’s side in Egypt. Eventually this succession of events brought his family, the then-entire Hebrew Nation, to Goshen from Canaan because of a famine. Under this Pharaoh, the Israelites prospered but with the next dynasty, came slavery. This sequence of events was revealed to Abraham long before Joseph entered the picture.

Drawing from not only this instance but many others, I believe that governments rise according to God’s timetable. Today many people struggle with who is in power, what they’re doing and what will happen as a result of each leader’s decisions. The beauty of hindsight here is that we see how the events once played themselves out and how God intervened hundreds of years ago.

Did He plan these things, condemning people to commit acts they had no choice but to carry out? Personally, I think that if one balances the revealed character of God against these questions, the only answer would be that history’s driving forces were contained within the decisions individuals made and that God wove His purposes through and around them. Foreknowledge empowered by freewill wrapped itself around us, using our future choices to bring about the amazing and often hidden purposes of God. Free will and eventual consequences, whether immediate or in eternity, are virtually stamped on every page in the Bible. Perfection cannot violate itself; neither can the Almighty.

Many of us are familiar with the movie, “The 10 Commandments” showcasing Moses’ life. The cruel Pharaoh’s daughter rescued Moses, the son of a Hebrew slave she found floating in a basket on the Nile River and then adopted him as her son. As a man, Moses killed an Egyptian guard abusing a Hebrew slave, and then fled into the desert to avoid execution. A few years later God appeared to Moses in a burning bush, and asked Moses to lead his people out of slavery. The famous movie classic portrayed how God revealed Himself to both His people and the world through tremendous miracles done to protect His people. The decisive factor is that God revealed the entire chain of events to Abraham, beginning with Joseph and ending with Moses, years before it ever happened.

The question again is, “Did God intervene in the affairs of mankind, taking away our will to choose, or did He somehow weave the freely made decisions of rulers and slaves alike into His ultimate purposes – knowing in advance what would happen because He isn’t bound by time and space?”

There are other examples from other stories. One big-picture illustration includes the fall of Jerusalem after the Babylonian conquest – and the city’s reformation. God promised beforehand that His people would return within seventy years to begin rebuilding Jerusalem. Though it took a series of dynasties’ rising and falling to help bring about this feat, events happened as predicted. Again, incorporated into and precipitated by man’s choices, God’s foreknowledge and sovereign will are apparent.

“The Golden Thread” reveals a God so interested in humanity that He somehow manifested Himself in the form of a Man. Born under the humblest circumstances; this God-Man named Jesus Christ came to do something we couldn’t do for ourselves. Lacking purity – the kind that can get close to God who is Perfect Purity – we needed help. Somehow, by His atoning death on the cross, Jesus Christ completed the golden thread of events leading up to Christ’s birth. Jesus died a horrible death on the Cross so that we, exercising our free will, could choose whether to believe Him.

To sum it all up, if the unchanging nature of God as revealed through the stories is accurate, then He will continue to be the same. Today’s leaders will make decisions at the national level and we will make individual choices just as our predecessors did. There is a scripture in Isaiah that says, “In returning and rest is your salvation; in quietness and confidence is your strength.” If we accept that God is true as He is revealed, then we can sleep secure and not fear. The title “The Golden Thread” is by itself my book’s most revealing description. By tying yesterday with the present as a historical inspirational novel, it provides invaluable insight to help shed light on present-day challenges many r
