I’m expecting my first baby boy in December, and while I know it’ll be years and years and years before I’ll have to deal with this stuff, I’m scared.
I know so many good christian families who teach their kids manners and morals and how to be good, and the kids end up a train-wreck.
A good family friend raised her kids in the church, always taught good morals, and one daughter had a baby at 16, and was arrested for smoking pot on her first day of public school.
The other daughter is now a heroin addict who steals money from the family and is currently prostituting herself for drug money, her whereabouts unknown.
How much of those kinds of things are due to problems in the parents “childraising” and how much is just the kid?
And what can I do, as a parent, to raise a respectful boy who makes good choices?
