Just kicked out my alcoholic husband and it is really the hardest thing I have ever done. Tell me the days?

get easier. I feel like I am the co-dependent addicted to the alcoholic. I have a 6 month old daughter and don’t feel that is a safe environment for her to be in. I have tried everything going to counseling, meeting with the pastor, going to AA meetings with him. He was even on Antabuse and drank on that. I just don’t know if it is low self-esteem, but I need advice on moving past this situation and on to a better more fulfilled life with my daughter. My father passed away when I was 8 years old to brain cancer, so I will be able to relate to her as far as growing up without a dad. However her dad has a choice and mine didn’t.
We have been married for 7 years and together 9 years. He wasn’t an alcoholic when we married, because I wouldn’t have even stepped foot into that relationship. He was deployed to Iraq in 05′ for 18 months. He drank when he got back, but will tell you himself that he hid the fact that he drank more over the past year. We have quite a history. I just need to know that this is the best decision, because I have done all I can do. I feel he has to want to change I can’t force him to.
