Where to Play Paintball

Paintball as a game is a lot like golf: the course it is played on presents as much of a challenge as the techniques and game strategies implemented. There are many different types of paintball fields, each with its own adventures and obstacles to overcome. Some great things to look for are places for retreat, open spaces for quick action fighting, and, if possible, a minimal amount of groundhog holes. In addition to fields, forests make great sites for paintball games. The choice of the perfect field will also depend on what type of game you are going to play. If you are playing more of a team game, you will want ample space to move and coordinate your attack. In contrast, if you decide to play a game where it is everyone for themselves, places with lots of obstacles that allow for stealth movement will be important.

Getting Enough Players to the Paintball Field

The disadvantage of team sports is that it is hard to play without a sufficient number of people. Paintball works best with a minimum of four people for individual games and six for team games. One way to make sure you have enough people to play is to plan the game early. You should probably try to schedule games one to two weeks before the date, and give a reminder call a couple days before the game happens. The effort you put into planning the game will be well worth it if you have the right amount of players. Once you have several interested, committed players, it will be easy to set up a regular schedule for games.

The Fears of Paintball

Many people shy away from trying paintball because they are worried about getting hurt. Realistically, it is a game of shooting at each other, and it definitely is possible to get an occasional bruise. The closer players are to each other, the more likely it is that the shots they take will cause some bruising. Most paintball shots taken over long-distance or in a paintball game hardly cause any pain or bruises. In fact with proper gear, such as eye goggles and protective clothing, the paint splatters will alert you more to a shot than the actual shot will. So if you have put off playing paintball because of the fear of pain, simply dress well for the occasion and go out and enjoy yourself.

Developing your Paintball Target Exercises

You can vastly improve your paintball game by consistently involving yourself in target practice. Exercises for target practice can be as simple as setting up soda cans a long distance away and knocking them down one by one. As with any sport, practice will go best if you master the basics before moving on. You should start either kneeling or standing and shooting at one single target as you focus on accuracy. Once you have done several rounds of shooting in this manner, proceed to more complicated methods of target practice such as shooting a target while running or shooting at a moving target. These more complicated maneuvers are the ones you will be using when you actually play the game. Some of the best practices that can be done for paintball are repetitive. Therefore, if you need to learn how to take a running shot, then practice for a week or so taking many running shots at a moving or a stand-alone target.

Dogs – they smell but you can’t help but love them!

  • Posted on July 1, 2009 at 9:05 pm

My dog got into a minor car incident today and it really brought home to me how much I love my dog and can’t imagine my life without him. The silly sausage went running out into the road right into the wheel of the a very slow moving car, and got such a fright he went running haywire and back into the rear wheel of the same car! Miraculous as it may sound, there was absolutely nothing wrong with him – not a single mark or breakage.

How would I live without my doggie? I got to imagining a life with no rogue hairs floating in the air as you vacuum the carpet or pick up a sweater from the back of an armchair. No having to make special arrangements for him to be looked after when I go on holiday. No having to venture outdoors in the wind and the rain when all I really want to do is sit on the couch and watch a DVD. No dog smell – I might try and deny it but unfortunately the houses and cars of every other dog owner I know smells of dog so I’m sure my own must too!

They bark too, which I have to admit does seem to get on peoples nerves, my own included, and they do get into fights with other dogs on occasion. They chew things up, they dig holes and they run away. They have no shame when it comes to getting it on with as many partners as possible whilst out for a sunny walk on the beach, all without any form of introduction, other than a cursory bum sniff, and they don’t care who they might offend in the process!

They poo. A huge bone of contention between dog lovers and dog haters – well it used to be until dog owners (well the majority of them anyway) realised that it wasn’t fair to have others clearing up their dog’s poo. They also beg. I can’t imagine living in house where you don’t have to feel guilty when eating a biscuit (or anything else for that matter) feeling like the most neglectful owner in the world as the dog sits there with huge liquid neglected looking eyes. Seriously if anyone saw him they’d think he was being starved!!

But the fact is, as momentarily ideal as it sounds, I cannot imagine my life without my dog. I hate the thought of coming downstairs in the morning or home in the evening without being encountered by a whirlwind of joy – I know, I’m obviously an attention seeker, but I can’t help it! When they say that dogs are loyal and are man’s best friend, I couldn’t agree more, he is my buddy. The minor incident this morning really brought it home to me that if he had been injured then I really want to be able to get him the best care possible, so I have checked out www.petinsurancecover.me.uk and found us the deal best suited to us.

Consider the benefits of Pet Cover for your loved pooch.
