How do you define a “perfect” relationship?

  • Posted on July 2, 2009 at 7:15 am

Couples will admit that it takes conscious effort to nurture a healthy relationship. During those first exciting stages of dating, everyone is on their best behaviors. It can be hard to find fault with one another. Everything feels perfect.

Those minor character flaws may be perceived as endearing or quirky in the beginning. Six months later, they can be seen as perpetually annoying habits or unbearable irritants. Either way, nothing’s perfect and that’s what makes it “perfect”… (I know…it’s a paradox. But life itself is one big paradox – if you haven’t already noticed).

My point is this: In order to realize ‘perfection,’ you must first experience imperfection. It’s the same with saying you cannot know ‘happy’ if you’ve never known ‘sadness.’ One side of the equation cannot exist without the other. That’s the paradox of life!

So don’t get too caught up trying to define a “perfect relationship” or compare your relationship with others to get some sort of validation. No two couples are the same. What works best in your relationship may not necessarily work well for another couple.

So remember: Perfect is nothing but a word to describe what appeals to you most. We say it’s perfect when things go our way. We say it’s perfect when two people come together happily. So you see, it’s just a word associated with being content.

Simply put: If you’re in a relationship that puts you in a good state of mind, then, you are in a ‘perfect’ relationship. And if you’re still looking for that ‘perfect’ person, keep in mind they don’t need to be perfect in all that they do, just as long as they’re a perfect fit for you.

Stop Stuttering Quest

  • Posted on July 1, 2009 at 10:12 pm

Are you on a quest to stop stuttering? Have you a goal to achieve fluency? Do you dream of being able to talk free from the constant fear of stuttering? These are all questions that I most certainly would have answered yes to up until the age of twenty-two. I started to stutter at the age of four and the speech impediment continued to have a damaging affect on my life for the next eighteen years.

Thirteen years ago when I was aged twenty-two I successfully managed to “stop stuttering” after developing a set of techniques to overcome the problem. When formulating these techniques I was learning and studying how the people that I considered to the “best talkers” spoke in comparison to the way that I did. I was more than aware that I had a “faulty speech” and I wanted to work out where the faults were. In the end I was actually quite surpised just how many aspects of my speech were faulty including of course how I was breathing.

This was all thirteen years ago and I am now more than enjoying the fruits of all of that hard work. The freedom of fluency is one that was worth the wait and one that was most certainly worth all of the hard work that I put in.

I am hoping that this article can prove to be of inspiration to other people who have a stutter. You should not accept second best, believe in yourself and believe in a better life for yourself.

Keeping Motivated to Self Improvement

  • Posted on July 1, 2009 at 9:04 pm

Having a strong purpose is an essential element in acquiring success, and at times when things are not going to plan you will need to draw on that purpose to keep you motivated. We are what we do consistently and that’s where we get your results from.

“ Your purpose explains what you are doing with your life. Your vision explains how you are living your purpose. Your goals enable you to realize your vision ” – Bob Proctor

Visualize – (the Dream)

It helps if you have a visual impression of exactly what it is you set out to achieve. Whether you want a new car or boat or maybe you have a financial goal or perhaps you want to give up smoking. It’s essential to picture yourself in the position of what it is you want. Picture yourself driving to your new boat in your new car, so when you get there you can sit however you want and not having a smoke. Have a Detailed Vision of what it is you want and see it every day.

Bob Proctor – Quote “ Set a goal to achieve something that is so big, so exhilarating that it excites you and scares you at the same time. It must be a goal that is so appealing, so much in line with your spiritual core, which you can’t get it out of your mind. If you do not get chills when you set a goal, you’re not setting big enough goals ”

Put it in Writing – (the Goal)

It is more powerful than you may believe to commit your goal to writing. When you commit your goal to writing it becomes more than a thought, it becomes official. You have %90 more chance of achieving a goal if you write it down. Achieving goals and especially big goals is the best form of inspiration one can get. It takes hard work, discipline and time to reach a goal, and its achievement is the greatest reward. Setting, resetting and reviewing your goals, is the way to fast track your self improvement.
