I`ve been dating this man for 3 years and he has a difficult ex wife (plays his daughter back and forth etc)?

  • Posted on January 8, 2011 at 7:21 am

anyhow, he in the past was self employed and paid her cash for child support (when he told me that, I had already thought she may do this) Now she has claimed he hasn`t paid her a dime.. and now they have garnished his wages. He only has proof of what he`s paid through checks. She states he owes her a total of 39,000 (with interest) His daughter is 14. Anyhow reguarding our relationship, it has almost destroyed it. Him fighting w/the ex, him being distraught because he says he has to “protect” his daughter from the ex, and he has told me they all walk on egg shells with the ex, personally, i`m sick of it all. This woman is a known meth user with loss of her teeth(all of them) and she is a highly respected teacher in the community!!! He states everyone walks on egg shells because she`s known to throw fits! I`m like and.. People in the community knows she has this issue, but noone says a word. My bf stays torn up. I feel I`m getting the brunt of it all. Should I stay? Go??? Help please!

my 4 year old daughter is coming to live with me but i’ve only met her a total of 5 times?

It was either me or foster care. I love my daughter, but I barely know the kid. Her mother/the love of my life is addicted to heroin and cps had to be called in ect. I sort of blame myself for it, I remember when we were teenagers and we did it together for the first time. Only thing is I grew up, kind of. I was there when my daughter was born and I saw her sporadically over 4 years. Her mom lives In los angeles and I live in brooklyn how was that ever going to work? My daughter is coming Tuesday. I don’t know what to do. My living enviroment isn’t exactly toddler friendly. I had to do some major cleaning up in my room. I live in a one bedroom apartment. So my new abode is the couch. I don’t know what she likes, we’re strangers to each other. I don’t even know if she’s going to like it here, I know its my chance to make up for the 4 years I wasn’t there but it wasn’t exactly my decision to move to california but I didn’t exactly stop her either….how do I prepare for this? This time I’m actually going to have to be a dad, its just going to be the two of us. I can’t change the past, but I’m not sure I’m cut out for this whole dad thing, but now I’m responsible for someone other than myself, for the first time in my 21 years of life.

I’ve gone back to work and my daughter is drinking more than I’m pumping…help?

  • Posted on January 4, 2010 at 2:08 pm

I’m a teacher and I recently went back to work. I have three times a day I can pump (at my two recesses and my lunch break.) Problem is, I’m getting only 8 oz or so all day and my daughter is drinking 10-14 oz during the day. I really can’t pump anymore during school. I’m already pumping after feedings with her to try to increase production, but I’ve been doing that for 3 weeks now and it doesn’t appear to help. I even got a hospital grade pump and that’s not keeping up with her. She’s also just started on rice cereal (she’s 5 months old) but that didn’t appear to lower her intake of milk. I’d love some suggestions. Thank you :)
I’m not really wanting to give her formula. I’ve gone through 5 bouts of mastitis and if I didn’t give up breastfeeding then, I’m not going to do it now just because I’m a working mom. If I just can’t find a way to produce more milk, I guess I’ll supplement some with formula, but it’s a last resort choice for me. My daughter has horrible reflux and breastmilk is more easily digested that formula which would cause more projectile vomiting cases.
