Why would Reconquista Rep. Gutierrez reprimands father of teen killed by DUI illegal alien?

  • Posted on March 28, 2011 at 5:22 am

CNSNews.com) – In emotional testimony before a House joint panel this week, a Virginia man recalled the death of his teenage daughter in 2007 – a death caused by an illegal immigrant who was driving drunk and who had been arrested twice before the crime, but was not deported.

“Two years ago this week, my 16-year-old daughter, Tessa, and her best friend Allison were killed as they were sitting at in intersection waiting for a red light to change,” Ray Tranchant said, as friends placed a photograph of Tessa Tranchant on an easel behind him.

Since his daughter’s death, Tranchant, a professor from VIrginia Beach, has become an advocate for the enforcement of immigration law.

On Thursday, as Tranchant applauded local law enforcement in Virginia for its increased efforts to work with federal immigration authorities since his daughter’s death, he referred to individuals listed on the Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s database of illegal aliens with criminal backgrounds as “banditos.”

That comment drew a rebuff from Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.).

“Mr. Tranchant, can I share with you as the father of two daughters, I thank you for bringing your testimony here, but I suggest to you that if we refer to people as banditos, as you referred to them in your testimony, it does not help to solve the problem,” Gutierrez said.
What I have seen, unfortunately, is the will to target and to victimize and to scapegoat a community of people,” Gutierrez said. “I have seen that readily here. It makes for great political points but it doesn’t solve the problem and would not have saved your daughter’s life.”

Gutierrez said anti-immigrant sentiment is not new in this country.

“The Irish [were] the dirty, filthy element that was coming here to undermine America. Well, it gave us a President Kennedy,” he said.

Rep. Gutierrez recently embarked on a five-week tour, visiting 16 American cities, to “document the harm” caused by the lack of “comprehensive immigration reform.” As part of his Family Unity Immigration Outreach Tour, Gutierrez held community meetings for U.S. citizens whose families are at risk of “being torn apart by a broken immigration system.”

Why do people think Kurt Cobain killed himself?

  • Posted on March 22, 2011 at 5:20 pm

If you read up on it, it was impossible for Kurt Cobain to kill shoot himself in the head with all the heroin in his bloodstream. It’s also a fact that Courtney love told a man she’d pay him $50,000 to “Blow his f u c k i n g head off” Also, Cobain supposedly loved his daughter more than anything, so if he was even going to kill himself, why would he fire a shotgun in his mouth for his family and daughter to find him like that? Lastly why would the shotgun shell be to the left of Cobain’s body if the chamber is to the right of the shotgun? I find this very suspicious. In my opinion I don’t believe Kurt Cobain killed himself. He wasn’t stupid. I think Courtney Love was involved in the murder of Kurt Cobain. End of story.

Joe Biden likes to tell the story that his family was killed by a drunk driver?

  • Posted on March 5, 2011 at 7:23 am

It isn’t true. As recently as a month ago he told a group he was speaking to that his wife & daughter were killed years ago by a truck driver that drank his lunch instead of eating it.

The facts are his wife was driving the car along with their 3 children and SHE drifted over into the lane of an oncoming tractor trailer. The driver did everything in his power to avoid hitting them, but could not.

This was a story I saw on a show on CBS, of all stations. When asked why he is passing fiction off as fact, he said “The deaths of his wife and daughter have always been the focus of his life, but it served no purpose to dredge up the details.” So, why is he putting lies out there? Is he going for the sympathy vote now?

My daughters boyfriend killed her in a wreck because of alcohol.?

  • Posted on February 26, 2011 at 9:23 pm

My daughter (18 yrs) and her boyfriend (22 yrs) went to a party two weeks ago. He was drunk and driving, and killed my daughter in the wreck. He has had 3 major wrecks due to alcohol…two of which involved my daughter, and he has walked with no punishment all three times. Now, we are waiting for blood test to come back to determine if this is a manslaughter case. I don’t understand why he is still walking around able to flee at any time. Now I found out that he is drinking and going to party’s again and already sleeping with another girl. I feel as if I am gonna lose my mind if something is not done soon. I want Justice to be served. What can I do to put him behind bars….he is going to do it again to someone else.

The Taconic Parkway wrong way crash, killed 8 people, woman was drunk/high, how can you file charges here?

  • Posted on February 6, 2011 at 5:23 pm

So this happened in NY. A mother ended up killing herself, he daughter, 3 nieces and 3 passengers from another car because she was driving the wrong way down the parkway. So we find out today she was drunk and high. The woman is dead. All those children and three passengers from other car are dead. No charges were being filed. The family members of the people’s car she crashed into and killed want to talk with prosecutor. I just had to give background about the case. So my question is, how could they possibly think about filing charges in this case when the woman is dead?
Ryan F. her assets and monetary value have nothing to do with the state. That’s what criminal court is about. They file charges on behalf of the public. The family could sue in civil court, so again your argument doesn’t hold water when it comes to talk to the prosecutor.
Yes but her own family suffered greatly. Her son survived. Her brother loss all his daughters. It was the woman’s actions, not her family.
Oh also, that would be in civil court, not criminal. So the first answer’s argument doesn’t hold water.
Ryan F. you changed your answer after you saw what I wrote. So no that’s not what you said.

Drunk driver killed a 2 yr old, &step mom -2yr old was not in car seat or strapped in is there a law suit?

  • Posted on January 28, 2011 at 1:23 pm

The father of the 2 year old was driving. They were hit by a 19 year old drunk driver. Killed in the car was the 2 yr old child of the driver, his wife, the father/driver and the couple’s daughter survived the crash. The 2 year old was not in a car seat or strapped in the car. Their van flipped over and the 2 yr old was thrown out of the car and suffered terrible head injury and died at the scene of the crime. Will the insurance company hold the father of the 2 yr old responsible and thus no compensation because he did not have the 2 yr old secured by law? The 19 year old drunk driver does have car insurance.

Where is the vigil for Americans killed by illegal aliens?

  • Posted on January 22, 2011 at 3:23 am

On Tuesday night, a group of 40 Episcopal bishops from around the country attended a weekly vigil in Douglas, AZ, held for those who have died trying to cross illegally into the U.S. The advocacy group known as Frontera de Cristo has been conducting the vigils along the Pan-American Highway since 2000.

The group placed crosses on the sidewalk and spoke the names of those who died attempting the illegal crossing.

The bishops are in Arizona for a meeting of the House of Bishops of the Episcopal Church, and have been visiting with illegal aliens and listening to their stories of hardship.
Rev. Kirk Smith, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Arizona, told the Tucson Daily: “It’s been a great experience so far, a great eye-opener so far. The most moving thing has been to have some personal contact with the people who are affected.”

Smith continued: “We talked to some people who had been caught this morning and sent back.”

While the bishops have no problem expressing sorrow for those who have so little respect for this country that their first act here—is to enter illegally, they seem to have no such concern for the thousands of American citizens who have been killed by illegal aliens.

Why don’t the bishops visit the family of murdered rancher Rob Krentz, whose killer was tracked back to the Mexican border?
Or, perhaps they would like to spend some time with the family of 3-year-old Marten Kudlis, who was killed by an illegal alien with a lengthy arrest record, as he sat in a Denver-area ice cream shop with his parents.

Or, they could travel to Virginia Beach to offer their support to the Kunhardt and Tranchant families, who both lost teenage daughters to a drunk-driving illegal alien.

I doubt though, that any of the bishops have the courage to face these grieving families…doing so, may force them reconsider their open-borders position.

Dealing with the person that killed your child?

  • Posted on August 16, 2010 at 2:23 pm

My son was killed 10 years ago by a drunk driver. This was the 4th DWI for the man, his third serious accident and 1st where someone actually died. My son was only 11 months old at the time he was killed, my sister was severly injured and has many disabilities from it as well. In the trial the man was sentenced to 5 years for vehicular manslaughter and lost his license for guess what 10 years. the other day was out in town and we saw him and I wanted to run over him. I was so mad he was already back to driving car. I have dealt with my sons death although I remeber on a daily basis but how can I deal with seeing this man and letting the anger go. I hate him I will not deny that but he does have a family and as fate goes his son and my daughter are in the smae class at school and actually friends. I deal with his kid as it isn’t his fault what his dad did, but how do I deal with the father, even in court and since he has never showed any remorse for what happened.
