I’ve recently acquired a skin and bones kitten from the Burger King drive through. Now, I love cats, but she startled me pretty good when she jumped in my car, then she tried to get into Burger King through the cashier window.
Anyway, I brought her home. She’s very friendly, has no fleas/ticks and is a beautiful black with faint tabby markings and lighter undercoat. My daughter has named the cat Cinders. We fed her very slowly at first, offering small pieces of tuna every few minutes until she stopped accepting them, then let her drink a little at a time as well. She’s no longer bolting her food, but she doesn’t seem to be eating as much of the dry food I bought as I expected.
My question is… other than taking her to the vet (which I plan to do asap) is what I can do for her other than make sure she has clean food and water. She has the runs right now, which may be a sign of how long she went hungry, but she hasn’t thrown up and I see no signs of worms, not that know exactly what I should be looking for.
