I am in need of losing my family including aunts, uncles, cousins and father&stepmother (dear old dad been gone awhile) There is a long line of alcoholism, lies, abuse, neglect etc…
I have recently had counseling (tons) followed by weightloss surgery to aid me in stopping the abuse to myself.
These family relationships are not serving me well anymore! The relationships quite honestly never have served me any kind of well. (ill spare the details) I am finding these relationships to be completely unhealthy for me.
I am working two jobs and going to school. I am in a great marriage, a step-parent, a daughter-in-law and I work fulltime in hospice and part time in long term care.
I know this is the right thing for me to do. I am about to send a snailmail letter to my aunts etc. to let them know that I am no longer available.
My question is::Can I expect these unhealthy people to respect it? I am going to request in the letter that I want NO further contact.
