Mom left us when I was a kid…?

When i was young my mother and father both left me and my two siblings to be raised with my grandparents because of drug addictions…when I was 14 (i think…8th grade) my mom (and later my dad) cleaned up and were suddenly back in my life trying to take on the role of mother and father when they had never been there before…at first i had a VERY hard time with my mom…fighting everyday, and i mean BIG fights, screaming, cussing, sometimes even hitting…after about 2 years we had worked through all our problems and get along fine now (like a normal mother/daughter) im 17 now, a senior

I think that i did it because i honestly hated my mom, felt that she had abanded me, like she didnt deserve to by my mother..

so to the question
has anyone else ever been through this? did you feel the same way? did you eventually end up getting along? if so, how long did it take you? i just want to see if anyone else has gone through the same thing…
was i fair in doing what i did? feeling the way i did?

Why does it feel like I’m the only one left on earth that isn’t substance addicted?

My whole building is full of people that are some of the worst alcoholics I have ever seen… My neighbor is banging a guy old enough to be her grandpa and does nothing but smoke pot and yell at her dog then go downstairs and drink…

Everyone I have met up in Winetka or North Brook, the two most well-off parts of the Chicago-Land area are LITERALLY either alcoholics or CRACK HEADS… LITERALLY smoking crack and abusing pills.

Hillary Clinton is from the area I’m talking about! (Though that would explain some things I have seen her say and do.)

It seems as if I’m the last person on earth to start abusing an intoxicating substance to be able to get through life… And then they all look at me strangely when I complain about how they screwed something up or forgot to do something important because they were too fixated on their substance of choice to give a sh*t about it.

In Arizona, everyone was either an alcoholic or doing meth… I grew up in Ahwatukee! The RICH part of Phoenix… (I wasn’t rich but we had a nice house in the area) and they were catching 8th graders SMOKING CRACK in the wash (dry river bed) behind the Middle School!

A teacher I knew had a daughter that was chased by these crack smoking 8th graders because she came across them while she was walking home from school and they didn’t want her to tell!

For fu*ks sake… Why is it that I am the ‘odd duck’ for NOT wanting to depend on an intoxicating substance to get through my life?

my x-partner left my 2yr old daughter alone @ home with his 13yr old daughter.he went out.what shud i do?

he went out & left her during the time he has contact with our daughter. am i over-reacting? i have already asked him not to do it but he continues. there was a no-contact order issued to him because he wouldnt go to court to sort out access. i also caught him drinking and then driving our daughter home in car. how many chances do i give him?

Can a passenger sitting in their driveway be charged with dui if they had some one drive them home and left?

My daughter and her friend picked me up from a bar because I was drunk. When we arrived home my daughter went in the house and her friend left with another person to pick up my other daughter. Approximately, 30-40 seconds later an officer approaches me while I was scratching a lottery ticket in the passenger seat before going in the house. The officer then arrests me for dwi even though I told her I wasn’t driving the vehicle. Can I be charged with dui if wasn’t even driving and the cop shows up several seconds later looking for the car?
I do not if the keys were left in the ignition because I wasn’t paying attention and my timing may be off because again I was drunk but I do know it took long enough for him to leave and for my daughter to get in the house to head for the bathroom before the cop showed up. The cop also stated to the magistrate that she was cut off by a car and was not close enough too me as the reason for the delay.

My husband got drunk and left our 16-month-old daughter in the car?

So I think my husband might have a problem with prescription painkillers and alcohol.

Last week while I was working at Costco he went to go pick up our daughter at the daycare center. Evidently, he drove there completely wasted. Even our daughter’s daycare center felt uncomfortable handing our daughter over to him, but I guess he made a scene and they caved.

Anyway, I came home from work four hours later only to discover my daughter laying unconscious in the front seat of the car. He didn’t even strap her into her car seat! I immediately called the paramedics and my daughter was treated for heat exposure and severe dehydration.

I’ve put up with a lot over the years, but leaving our helpless daughter to bake in the car for four hours is borderline unforgivable. Unfortunately, divorce isn’t an option. How can I force my husband to quit drinking?

that Jefferson guy got caught with cash in the freezer, and of course Bill with Monica-
But didn’t the guy that funded going after Clinton just get busted going to a hooker for years- yes- and the San Diego Congressman – off to jail…and better not mention Scooter Libby’s porno writing, oh and the Ted Haggart guy -cured?, and um, Foley, and, the Mormon guy who just got sent to prison, and the Speaker of the House who had an affair and had to step down- whats his name? and Dik’s daughter-lesbian, and the Larry Craig incident.. I know I’m forgetting someone- no, not Rush with his Oxycontin (“all druggies should go to prison”) and his Bahama Viagra trip. or Tom Delay and the chinese girls sweat shops on American islands-
dang! too many to recall- help me remember a few more?

Um.. i claim “executive priveledge” “I just don’t recall” uh… “Mistakes were made”
“Military operations have ended”
uh… “what about the pig?”

=) six days, six weeks, I doubt six months-
no.. ie: Cheney’s daughter is only a mistake to right wing evangelicals…isn’t it?

Also if the righties could kick the living crap out of Clinton like they did.. I will look “forward” to settling that overkill attack on a decent president

Would you be upset if your spouse came home drunk and left you with the mess?

My husband and I have been married for 11 years. I really do love him and we have a great marriage normally. We are past that whole immature stage where we pick fights with one another, or nag and complain, etc. We are just a normal married couple.
My husband is not much of a drinker. He has a chronic illness where one unit of alcohol is actually good for him, so he usually has one bottle of beer with his dinner. I have no problems with this. But drinking excessively is NOT good at all for his condition. He usually gets drunk once a year at his work’s Christmas party.
The other evening he was going to his class reunion. He decided to walk there and back as it was only one mile from our house and he thought he might have a few drinks (no driving). So at 5:30 pm I kissed him goodbye and told him not to drink too much and to be careful. He said that he would only have a few drinks and that he’d probably be home early.
I waited up for him to make sure that he got home safe. When 3:00 am came, I decided to go to bed. He stumbles in the door at 3:30 am with red eyes and he stinks like he bathed in a barrel of whiskey. He kicks off his shoes and climbs in bed and immediately falls asleep. I don’t say anything and I go back to sleep as well.
At 5:30 am, my husband sits upright in bed and vomits everywhere. I jumped up and turned on the lights and pulled him over to my side of the bed. I get him a bucket and he promptly pukes into that again. He is sitting there with vomit and drool dripping down his chin, so I get him a glass of water and wipe up his face. I pull off his clothes and cover him with my blanket and stripped down his side of the bed. I spent the next half hour getting the blankets, sheets and his clothes into the wash and scrubbing the mattress while he passes out again. After I am done all that, I have no choice but to go and sleep in our daughter’s bed with her while our mattress is drying.
The next afternoon when he wakes up he says “Thanks for last night”. And I just said “Yup.” He then asks me if I am upset and I replied that I thought what he did was really stupid. I told him that he shouldn’t be drinking like that with his medical condition, he shouldn’t be walking home alone in the city drunk and that he promised me that he wouldn’t drink to the excess and instead he pukes around in our bed. He thinks I’m overreacting.
Would you be upset if your spouse did this? Please be honest as I don’t really know if I am overreacting. Thanks!
