The Path to a Purpose Driven Life

One of the greatest challenges in life is about sorting the direction you’re heading for at any point in time.

Now, direction here doesn’t mean East, West, North or South, we could soon organized a map, a navigator, or as in the old days, the sailors used their compass.

Our Mind is a very vital tool for navigation and helps us organise our direction in life.

How important then it is to channel your mind, so as to direct your path of action towards your lifestyle desires.

The key point here is to start focusing your mind on one major objective at a time, and not too many objectives with no clear direction. So you let your awesome Mind Power work for you to create your true desire.

Now, you may class a major objective as something which requires your undivided attention and focus, something that you really desire on a deeper level and you’re happy to put the required effort into achieving it.

You decide that this is a major objective for you, so that all others become secondary. Only you by inquiring from within would decide how major and important this is to you.

A friend of mine was once set on opening a Retail Store on the high Street and in the meantime as he was finalizing his arrangements, he had a very good opportunity to launch a training program in partnership with some of his other acquaintances.

Now he was faced with the decision on which one to choose and concentrate on, but both his retail store venture and the training program seemed viable to him. 3] Putting your “willpower” at work with determination and perseverance so that if you get carried off course at any point, you simply turn around, pick up and review any learning’s and then keep heading for your target until you get there.

Success!, you’ve reached your destination and achieved your Major intention which now leaves you to start on another Purpose Driven Life Desire. This way you’ll be living your life’s destiny just as you desire it.

Just think of what you really desire that you believe you can achieve, you then drive the necessary action including all the challenges which will eventually get you there. One at a time, without taking your mind off your course.

One great achiever Peter Cohen once said “There is no one giant step that does it, it’s a lot of little steps”.

As you begin to create your purpose driven life, you’ll grow and understand more of your own personal desires and lifestyle choices. This in turn helps you to become Master of your life on a daily basis, and obstacles or challenges become instruments for your growth and experience.

When you focus in on your true desires, you are working on a deeper level and the inner satisfaction it brings makes it all worthwhile.

How To Interpret Depression Signs

There is no cure for depression! Did you know that when depressed people take antidepressants these will only work completely in about 35% of cases? That means there are a lot of people who will only get partial relief and that the condition will linger on for years. That figure compares very unfavourably with the effect of a placebo which relieves signs of depression in about 20%. Another figure which is quite shocking is that about 5% of cases have a worsening of symptoms when they are on these depression meds. Experts are now looking at changes in lifestyle which can make a positive impact on depression but will certainly not cure the condition. How can we interpret depression signs and realise that we may have a problem or that a loved one may be depressed?

It seems that genetics, chemical imbalances in the brain and the environment all play a role in the cause of depression but nobody is quite sure. Signs of depression will be noticed when they persist for quite a long period and we are certainly talking about a period of two weeks to a month here. We might also notice that the depression signs seem to be preventing us from functioning at work or at home like we used to.

Depression signs are evident when there is a loss of energy to do things and a lack of concentration too. There may be a problems with indigestion and or problems with eating which can manifest itself in a loss of appetite or an increase in appetite for no apparent reason. Add to that weepiness (usually present in women) and a loss of interest in any sexual activity. Other depression signs which are even more alarming are talk of suicide or constantly thinking about death in an obsessive way. There may be a tendency to self mutilate which could be a precursor of suicide. If only some of these are present, we should seek medical help and also have other conditions ruled out which could and sometimes do have similar symptoms.

We now know that depression is such a common disorder that there is less stigma attached to it nowadays, fortunately. Experts tell us that Americans are ten times more likely to suffer from a depressive disorder of some sort than our grandparents were, sixty years ago. These disorders can range from bipolar to SAD (seasonal affective disorder).

Once signs of depression have been spotted and diagnosis has been carried out, we can start thinking about treatment. Antidepressants are one choice but as we have seen above, there is no guarantee that they will work and some people favour herbal remedies such as St. John’s Wort and the Passion Flower which have much fewer side effects and will be more effective than the antidepressants in some patients.
