I’m afraid my ex-husband’s new wife might be abusing our 2 year old, what should I do?

  • Posted on May 15, 2011 at 4:21 am

My ex and I seperated early last year. When we were going to try to work things out, I found out he was seeing a known enemy of mine, so I went ahead with the divorce. They’re married now, she has 3 kids from a previous marriage and now they have another on the way. First off, her children are savages. The two boys and girl, lack discipline and attention. They obviously spend no time teaching them anything and more time putting them in front of TVs so they can smoke their marijuana. (They’ve recently spent their welfare money on medical marijuana cards) So other than the fact that my daughter comes home (from every other weekend at Daddy’s) with sugar addictions and cranky whining (I guess this is how her children get THEIR way instead of using words) she’s starting to act straight traumatized. Her father has recently started attending school so apparently my daughter is spending God knows how much time with this barbaric woman and her disorderly kids. Today, my boyfriend tells me, as he and our daughter arrive home, that she raced out the door in tears. It took me about an hour to calm her down and when i asked her father about it, he promptly responded 45 minutes later (after I confronted his wife) with “She’s fine, you’re ridiculous.” So in conclusion, I know I can’t gain full custody for ill-parenting and nutrition, but what CAN I do?

you might be intersted to know what my girlfriends religious parents said to me the other day.?

mmmk

im not really your average christian

i listen to metal music (slipknot, avenged sevenfold) and cuss (and yes i have a reason why). i laugh at ironic things about christianity and religious jokes. i have alot of friends that arent christian. and i go to church sometimes.

but this guy had the nerve to say this to me.

“your on the path to burning in a lake of fire. you shouldnt listen to the music you listen to because it intoxicates your mind. until you dont your not allowed to date our daughter anymore.”

what do you think about that?
lol

i probably should have.

that would have pissed him offff
saying me having a reason to cuss is ignorant?

here is my reason

the bible said “let not filth come out of your mouth”

but i think that means that you souldnt make people feel bad or make fun of people

everyone has a right to their own opinion right?

I think my husband might be becoming an alcoholic?

  • Posted on October 21, 2010 at 4:32 pm

My husband has always been a heavy drinker but recently he’s taken it to another level. He quit drinking mixed drinks and cocktails and now just swills the liquor straight from the bottle. Seriously, yesterday I saw him drink at least two 750ml bottles of vodka. It’s disgusting!

He passes out in odd places around the house and even around the neighborhood. I was coming home from work yesterday and I spotted him passed out drunk in the neighbor’s driveway. I had to talk them out of calling the police.

It’s even beginning to affect the children. Last week he passed out in our daughter’s bed while she was still sleeping in it. She was so scared!

He’s even begun drinking his own vomit. I’m not kidding. In an effort to conserve money and liquor he’s been using a coffee filters and a coffee maker in order in order to separate his stomach contents from the alcohol. He then drinks his strained vomit straight from the coffee carafe!

Are these signs of developing alcoholism? Should I be concerned?

Thanks and God bless.

Stupid “pen-pal” might steal my poems! Should I publish them on the web before he has the chance to steal them

  • Posted on October 3, 2010 at 4:33 pm

My pen pal Robert Mooney from Ireland just sent me a poem and I found out he plagerized it!!!

I am so disappointed in him! Anyway, now I am afraid he will steal my poems I just sent him, so I am publishing mine here with all copyrights to Athena Quinn (self)

1. Life is not about finding peace and ease, it is about growth and decline. Life is charged by the opposites of things: man and woman, death and birth, past and future. Between these opposites are the power of Everything; because of the opposites there is love and new life and the present moment.
2. I could not pronounce the pseudonym, so I called Alcoholism by its Christian name, just as I came to be called your grand daughter because I alone would love you unashamed. You say not to breath too much, “…for God is everywhere”. But your sleeve is like a rampart and liquor its only good. Your twilight sings an octave below the angels, from your pipe I see hot loaves of polished coffins. All I can do is light this candle and hold your hand.
I am preparing the above two poems for publishing, and because this is dated backed up by the site and the date his letter that is sufficient for copyright.

You might become a cult hero

You’ve written a few good songs, made a dollar or two jamming with a few bands or busking on the corner. Now, you’re no longer satisfied: dreaming of stardom, you’re hungry for the big time.

The worst thing to do is to hold out for the big break that never happens: Better to play for the love of music. With no false hopes and no illusions, start from zero. Somewhere, there’s an audience for you. Let someone hear you – mother, daughter, friend, lover – and listen to what they have to say. Drink in the encouragement and consider their criticism. It’s all good. Just get someone, anyone, anywhere, anytime to listen to you. Sing in the dark, sing in the park. Play for friends, for strangers, for young and for old.

All you need is a song and a crowd; the rest comes easy, one step at a time. The day will come when you’ll earn a place of respect. People will notice when you walk into a room. You won’t hear a pin drop when you begin to play at a local coffee house. The whole room will “rock” when you plug in and play at your neighborhood blues cafe.

But, if that’s not enough and you still want to get signed to a major record. Pet your dog. Kiss your wife or girlfriend goodbye. You’ll be away for a long, long time playing for people you don’t know in places you’ve never been before. Your chances of becoming a rock star are about as good as winning a lottery. Call it a glass ceiling. Call it a brick wall, mainstream success is rare.

They say the Beatles started their career playing in strip joints in Hamburg, Germany. Forty years ago, Hamburg’s infamous red-light district was where some of the world’s most popular rock musicians paid their dues. One day Brian Epstein discovered the Beatles when they packed the Star Club with whores, pimps, transvestites, sailors and fans of “beat music” swilling alcohol and dancing until dawn. Epstein saw something in them that no one else could see. Somehow he knew one day their raw sound would thrill audiences with a magic that will never return again.

Maybe someone will notice you one day. All you’ve got to is get the right people interested in what you’re doing and hold that interest long enough for them to “buy” what you’re doing. The more interested they are, the longer they stick around, the more ideas they’ll get for selling what you have to offer.

‘The cream always rises to the top’ doesn’t mean the best rise to the top. Without at least some marketing savvy, the average musician won’t make it very far alone no matter how good he is. Which brings me to my next thought. A performing career isn’t for most people. Most so-called pro musicians live below the poverty line spending their daylight hours watching TV in a dingey downtown apartment waiting for the phone to ring with a booking for your next paying gig. When you’re a seventeen year-old drop out, playing bar songs for a crowd of rowdy drunks might be someone’s idea of a good time but there are better ways to make a living.

If you want a life, think again. With a strong regional presence, it’s possible to make a name for yourself as an artist. If you travel a circuit, and stay around long enough your audience will grow and your CD sales will climb. If you’re good, you might become a cult hero or even a regional icon
