I was just thinking maybe she might have an allergy to milk. Is she getting too much milk maybe??

Ok, so I will be a junior in high school next year, and my friends throw parties with alcohol. To avoid drinking and driving, people just bring sleeping bags and spend the night wherever the party was hosted.
So, my parents are fine with me drinking alcohol, but they arn’t okay with me spending the night with guys. They are afraid something bad will happen.
But nothing bad does happen. First of all, I would never do anything like that. And second, the guys, besides drinking and occasionally street-racing, are good guys, and none of them would try something.
I try to point this out to my parents, but they are just like well you may thing they won’t, but we don’t know that.
I don’t like lying to my parents, so what could I do to change their minds?

Also, please, if you arn’t going to answer the question I asked, don’t bother answering. I will just ignore “you should wait until you’re older to drink” type responses.
And don’t assume things about me and my parents. My parents are amazing, even if they are stricter than I wish sometimes. And I am a good person even if I do drink occasionally. I have all As or A-s in school, and my teachers like me. I’m not the stereotypical “bad kid” image that people sometimes think of with underage drinking.

I have been working with my 11 month old daughter to stop the night time feeding (6 oz. @ 1am). I tried starting with the 6oz. then each night same amount of water with less formula – gradually of course. Now I am stuck because she wakes for water. She will drink the whole 6 oz of nothing but water and fall happily asleep. Could she really be hungry?! She has never slept through the night since birth, but only woke twice as an infant and now once as an older baby. However, she is growing like 3-4 inches a month. She is 34 1/2 ” tall. Her weight is 26 lbs.

Also, another method I had read about is to start with 6 oz and then each night feed her a half an oz. less till you reach 0 oz, which would be no bottle- Has anyone successfully done this?!

I really don’t mind feeding her at night, it’s only once – whereas some babies her age are awake 3 or more times. I am grateful. By me continuing to feed her am I really making a way for a pattern, or will she grow out of it. She sleeps happily after her 1 am milk till 8 am but if I don’t feed her (which I have tried for 1 solid week she whines and cries for a bit every 10 minutes for about 4 hours).

She does also eats quite a bit during the day (baby cereal and fruit and formula for breakfast, lunch is two jars of baby food, formula, and some dry cereal for a snack, then dinner is 1 jar of baby food with yogurt, formula. And then the last bottle before bed.

Thanks for any help! :)

My daughter is almost 8 months old, and I still breastfeed her 3/4 of the time. Up until she was 6 months old, she rarely had formula, only when I didn’t have enough pumped for her (I work and go to school). The past month and a half though she has been having more formula, mainly b/c I have just been very busy and have not been pumping as much as I was. Now I pump at work and I used to get like 4oz (3oz from one breast, 1 from the other) and now I get like 2 oz. I breastfeed her in the morning and the evenings, but sometimes if I have homework my husband gives her a bottle of formula before she goes to bed and I just pump when I’m done with my homework..but sometimes I’m so tired I don’t feel like pumping when I’m done so I just go to bed. On these nights I’m very full in the morning. Anyway, I don’t really feel like putting all the effort into getting my supply back up. I’ve had to do that a few times, drinking tea all day, pumping 3-4 times a day and breastfeeding whenever possible. It works, but its a lot of work. If I just keep doing what I’m doing will my milk dry up or will my body continue to produce? I’d like for her to at least get some breastmilk still for the antibodies, with the bad flu season going around. I’ll just supplement with formula for calories and she eats a lot of foods also. I don’t want to wean yet.
She sleeps through the night, goes to bed at 8pm. So I bf her at 4 when we get home, at 6:30 after she has dinner, and as she goes to sleep at 8.

People who are breastfeeding fanatics are extremely annoying. She was exclusively breastfed for 6 months. I’m doing the best I can, going to nursing school so she can have a better life. Also she LOVES bottles, she thinks they are like a treat for her, so when she gets to have a bottle she is happy.

My daughter is three years old and will be 4 in Nov. She’s been pottied trained but at night she wets the bed. It’s strange because she use to wake up dry even before she was fully potty trained but now I am washing sheets more frequently. I’ve stopped given her drinks 2 hours b4 bed, made sure she goes potty b4 she goes to sleep and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. I’m getting frustrated because I know alot of kids her age I know don’t have this problem. This sometimes i even wake up in the middle of the night to put her on the toilet but sometimes I be so tired and knocked out that I wont wake up until morning. I just started the calender thing where she get to put a sticker on every day/night where she’s accident free. This morning i was carrying her to the bathroom and she was still sleep of course and she just peed right on my arms. I need some advice should i go back to buying pull ups or would that make her feel like its ok to pee because she has one on?

Also she starts Head Start in fall so I dont want them to have to tell me that she pees everyday at nap time.

My son has just turned 4 and we are currently trying to night potty train him. He stays dry but if he wakes up he often pees himself. We don’t want to put him back in pull-ups.

He doesn’t drink for two hours before, and we take him to the potty before he goes to bed (6.45pm), 10pm and when my baby daughter wakes me up at 3am.

My husband and I are going out at like 7.30pm.
Would it be out of order to ask the 17 y/o sitter to carry our 4 y/o to the potty, stand him up by it and get him to pee while he’s still half asleep? If he wakes up before the bathroom he usually pees himself. Or should we just risk him wetting the bed? We will be getting back at about 1am.

The night before last night my daughter was up every 40 min throwing up…it got to the point where she was dry heaving and almost nothing was coming out. She got up in the morning and then was PERFECT all day. Acted normal and ate pretty normal besides breakfast. Well last night she went to bed and after maybe a half an hour of sleeping she woke up throwing up. Then she was fine the rest of the night and seems to be fine now. Any ideas? I had given her pedisure (she normally drinks this, doctors request) maybe an hr before bed, last night. And that is what she threw up, besides some tomatoes from dinner. Any one know whats going on with my little one? The doctors is closed for the holidays, but if she gets bad I’ll take her to Urgent Care…although she is fine now. If this is just a stomach bug, how long is she contageus for? She has gotten the Rotovirus vaccine..

My son has just turned 4 and we are currently trying to night potty train him. He stays dry but if he wakes up he often pees himself.

He doesn’t drink for two hours before, and we take him to the potty before he goes to bed (6.45pm) and at 10pm and usually in the middle of the night too, when my baby daughter wakes me up at 3am.

My husband and I are going out for the 1st time since my baby was born. We are leaving at like 7.30pm.

Would it be out of order to ask the 17 y/o sitter to carry our 4 y/o to the potty, stand him up by it and get him to pee while he’s still half asleep? Or should we just risk him wetting the bed? We will be getting back at about 1am as it’s an hour drive. We don’t want to put him back in pull-ups.

My daughter is almost 3 and has been in underwear for almost half a year now. She still wil occasionaly have an accident, but very rarely. I try to limit drinks in the evening (but you can only do su much – she has to have a drink if she has a snack!) and she goes pee right before bed, but she almost always wets her diapers at night time. She is maybe dry one night a week. Did your child wake up at night to go potty or did they just stay dry the whole night? and at what age? I’m ready to quit buying diapers for good!

A Night at the Old Inn

We’re brought to places sometimes unforeseen
And opportunity may flourish where
There seems to be none. May I with you share
A mirthful tale laid somewhere in-between?
Without vocation, a young gentleman
Was forced, as only tribulation can,
To leave the world of lustful, wanton life
And don instead monastic cowl and cloak
And though to him the Father never spoke
Abjured from carnal pleasures, and no wife
Would he enjoy for all his four score span.

The God of Mercy had another plan.
His shepherd, forced to stop one eve at last,
Would find himself where a young beauty passed
At a quaint inn, and though he was a man
The inn keep, though his spirits had been sunk
By daughter’s death, thought first to ask the monk
If he would watch her body overnight
And he agreed, but curiosity
Soon bested him; he took a peek to see
If she was, as he’d heard, a fair delight;
The sight of her released him from his funk.

And so, he stood half man, half deity
Alas, the former half he could not stop
He dropped his cloak and then he climbed on top
Forgetting God but finding ecstasy.
He thrust then in and out and spilled his seed
And did so with a most unpracticed speed.
Then finished, he put on again his cloak
And silently sat with the corpse till dawn;
But in a farther room the lots were drawn
And although his beloved never spoke
She satisfied an ancient, aching need.

The next morn, all those present were bereft,
Our monk perhaps for reasons of his own ―
His mind fell back to manly seeds he’d sown;
At last he rose and thanked his host and left.
How quickly did a miracle unfold!
The ravished maiden was at once I’m told
Restored to life and all its youthful vigor
She fairly glowed the passersby would say
Indeed more like a woman every day
But as the months passed she kept getting bigger
Until the birth could not be put on hold.

A year went by; one day the monk appeared
And asked if he could once more stay the night,
But what he saw made him recoil in fright:
She lived, and now the secret he had feared ―
That he had won the night with lusty charms―
Lay red-faced, bawling in his mother’s arms!
The inn keep looked at him with solemn eyes
And not a word was said, yet each one knew
The truth of this queer thing he’d thought to do
And so, to do the better thing, and wise
Appear, and set aside her father’s harms

He left his Godly post and took a wife
And found at last the meaning of his life.
