Kava Kava Herbal Tea for Relaxation

  • Posted on July 2, 2009 at 4:51 pm

Salam Alaykum (may peace be upon you), I have found a herbal tea, that is very delicious.

Kava Kava Is NOT Addictive ! Kava Kava may have relaxing effects ! Kava Kava may have Calming effects !

Kava tea is best taken after a long, and difficult day at work, as it relaxes, and calms, not only your body and mind, but also your muscles.

Kava is not something that should be had, cup after cup, and for some of our Muslim brothers and sisters, a cup is from 500 ML to 2 Liters at times… Even i don’t have a 2 Liter cup, but a 500 ML one (i love to drink tea). Kava tea comes from the root (which is harmless if not drank cup after cup) of the Kava plant.
The Kava plant has a pisonous top (the top of the plant), while the root has calming, non poisonous, relaxing effects (one cup on those stressful days – enjoy it but don’t overdo it).

Kava tea – can help with anxiety and depression – We must not forget to speak with our doctor before drinking Kava tea, as it is a herb, and may possibly interact with prescribed medications.

Recommended dose for Kava Kava tea – One cup per day (maximum of four days in a row, per month), using a single tea bag – either discontinue use of kava kava tea for at least two weeks after the first four days (recommended four week off period from drinking kava kava), or consume kava kava tea no more than once per week- if you let it steep for more than an hour in a tea pot, you can make two or three cups with the same effects, make the tea last longer, and share it with your wife, husband, mother, father, brothers, sisters, cousins. It is not recommended to give children more than one fifth (equal to one to two sips) of Kava Kava tea, as it may be too strong for them, even if you buy a low caffeine brand.

Kava Kava tea is only for those stressful and difficult days – Abusing Kava Kava tea has its side effects, and may be harmful to your body – It is highly inadvisable to drink multiple cups per day – It is even more inadvisable to drink it more than four times per week.

Kava Kava Warning – Kava Kava tea can damage/poison your liver. You need your liver ! You can not live without your liver ! Abusing Kava Kava tea, is very likely to guarantee anyone (who likes to abuse a herbal), permanant damage. Do not ignore the warning for over-consumption. It took me roughly half an hour to figure out how to write this warning, because it’s very important that you consider the safety conserns, and do not forget what kind of lfie threatening damage Kava Kava can do, if over-consumed with indequate off-time from Kava Kava, so that your liver may recover.

Kava Kava should not be mixed with any intoxicants !
Kava Kava should not be had while or even before attempting to operate a vehicle of any size or shape !

1 Try to avoid exposing your children to too much news. Most stories focus on disasters and negative pictures of world events. More and more children are becoming anxious about world events and this anxiety is causing an effect on their happiness and school work.

2 Avoid allowing children to eat dinners or snack in front of the TV. Not only does this reduce the amount of social interaction and family chats, but also encourages children to eat mindlessly which can lead to overeating.

3 Take televisions out of the bedrooms. Keeping TVs in bedroom makes it so much easier for children to watch programs that are not suitable. TV before bedtime, is not a relaxing activity as it the flickering screen and fast moving stills stimulate the mind rather than it calm down. (You could however try the Relax Kids DVD, which is full of lovely animated meditations, which are both calming and restorative).

4 Make a list of all the activities that you could do as a family with the TV switched off. Reading, games, colouring, puzzles, cooking, crafts, walks, bike rides, family chats. Have a chat with your children and see if they can come up with any other alternative activities they would like to do. When the children enjoy spending quality time with you, they will forget the addictive flickering cartoons.

5 Try introducing 5-10 mins of relaxation together. Dim the lights, put on some classical or chill out music and allow everyone to sit comfortably. You could try reading a Relax Kids relaxation (see below), or just sit still listening to the music. Ask the family to close their eyes and listen to the sounds in the room or practice deep breathing. You might like to try a CD such as Relax and De-stress for older children or Quiet Spaces for younger children.

SINKING
Close your eyes and be very still. You are very quiet and calm and relaxed. Now just imagine your body is so relaxed that you feel as if you are slowly sinking into the ground. The bed or chair that you are on
feels very warm and comfortable and safe. Now, let your feet become heavy and relaxed, and feel them slowly sinking downwards. Down, down, down they go, as they become heavier and heavier. Now let your legs become heavy and sink downwards. Now, let your back softly sink down deeper and deeper. Relax, relax, relax. Your arms feel heavy and are sinking. Relax, relax, relax. Your head is heavy and relaxes deeply. Feel your eyes becoming heavy, feel your lips and jaw becoming heavy, feel your cheeks becoming heavy, feel your forehead becoming heavy. Stay in this wonderful deep relaxation for as long as you wish. All the muscles in your whole body are completely relaxed as you enjoy the feeling of sinking deeply. Repeat to yourself, I let go, I let go , I let go. Take in a deep breath and as you breathe out slowly, feel yourself becoming more and more relaxed. Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out. Relax relax relax.

Stress Reduction Techniques: 3 Proven Techniques To Reduce Your Stress

  • Posted on July 1, 2009 at 7:57 pm

Everyone needs to use stress reduction techniques. Since we live in such a fast-paced world, I wouldn’t be surprised if even ten-year-olds are feeling stressed out now. Our lifestyles haven’t exactly been the healthiest in the last 50 years either. There’s hardly anything we can do to reverse the situation. However, there are some practices we can do to help lessen stress in our daily life.

So what options do you have? Luckily, there are simple everyday stress reduction techniques you can use to minimize stress’ effects. These suggestions are quite simple and applicable to anyone regardless of age or gender.

Stress Reduction Technique # 1: Put some relaxing music on.

Music has a lot of relaxing qualities, depending on the person you are. If you feel most relaxed listening to ballads, then why don’t you pop your favorite CD in your CD player?

These days, there are also special CDs made for relaxation. These CDs mimic the sound of soft rain or the sound of waves. I highly recommend these nature sounds to help you combat stress. If you have an iPod, you can easily look for these kinds of sounds on the Internet.

Stress Reduction Technique # 2: Goodnight and sleep tight.

Sleep has always been a reliable method to overcome stress. Getting sufficient sleep does wonders for the black rings under your eyes and for your stress levels. However, different people have different sleep needs; some may need only 6 hours or less of shut-eye, while others need around 8 hours or more.

You should therefore try out different sleep routines, and discover for yourself the optimal hours of sleep you need to wake up feeling refreshed and energized.

Sleeping gives your body time to recuperate. If you’re feeling overly stressed, why don’t you go home early one day and make sure you get a good night’s sleep? It’s one of the cheapest luxuries you’ll ever experience.

Stress Reduction Technique # 3: Take your vitamins.

Taking multi-vitamins is good for your health and well-being. Vitamins help strengthen your immune system which makes you less vulnerable to stress.

Vitamin B Complex, for example, fortifies your nerves and helps you deal with stress better. Antioxidant vitamins such as vitamins C (citrus fruits) and E (found in nuts and whole grains) do a great deal to keep your body in top shape.

Fruits and vegetables are also a good source of antioxidants. If you don’t like to take vitamins, you can also substitute them with natural herbs. Ginseng, for example, is known to help reduce stress without any harmful consequences to your body.

These everyday stress reduction techniques are easy enough to include in your everyday routine. Don’t take your body for granted. Always take good care of it and it will serve you well in the long run.
