re-writing a police statement?

Hello,
A few nights ago my fiance and I had gotten into a fight( I was intoxicated at the time) I attacked him to get the phone to call the police, I was hitting and kicking him and in self defense he restrained me and somehow my stomach got hurt, he did not hit or punch me.
Anyways the cops came and charged him with assult, Me and him didn’t tell the cops that it wasn’t his fault. So now he is charged with assult and I wrote a statement when being pretty much drunk and I left out a lot of detail and now want to re-write it because my head wasn’t clear when I wrote the last one.
Am I aloud to re-write my statement telling them exactly what happened since I was drunk when I wrote the last one?
And what are the chances of the police dropping the charges if I write what really happened?
I didn’t lie in the statement, they just assumed I called them cuz he assulted me but I only called them to get him to leave my house for the night. The police wrote it from what she thought happened..but I signed it being stupid and drunk.
Please help me we never fight and get along great, he doesn’t have any criminal history at all, not a parking ticket..nothing, he doesn’t drink or smoke and is an all around great man and father. They put a no contact order on him also that I want removed but don’t know how..and my daughters first b-day is almost here and we want him home so much..please help with any knowledge..thanks in advance.
And sorry this was soo long.
He was already charged..NOT by me but by the police and they also put a no contact order on him that I want removed ASAP.
