I want to know even if meth wasn’t made in the house but it was opened and cut there, am I at risk?

  • Posted on February 23, 2011 at 7:20 am

It was opened and cut down in the house, I no longer live there, but our daughter does, she’s 9. I am more worried for her than myself, it was opened and air bourne, it ate the rubber gasket off the food saver he would use to seal up the cut down portions, where it was in the house and opened up would there be any chance of my daughter and I getting sick from the stuff?
when I was married to him, “HE SOLD the stuff!” We had numerous knock down drag out’s over it, I am Totally Against All Drugs! actually he’s still selling the stuff, but it got so bad I had to make Him Hate me over it, so I could get away, he eventually through my daughter and I out, and we divorced. He put another death threat on me and a guilt trip on our daughter, in order to get her away from me he’s got control issues bad! Well now that I am away permantly, she’s not, she’s afraid for me, and she loves me enough and afraid he’ll hold to his word on killing me/having me killed, that’s why she’s there. I pray everyday and night actually it’s more 24/7 that she’ll be ok, and I hope she never forgets how much I do love her, she has no idea of what he’s actually does for a living- I called cps and the sheriffs dept there-they laughed in my face! He was forwarned they were coming so he “cleaned the House” is there any body that knows somebody that can help me & will!

Please help-Multiple Sclerosis risk?

  • Posted on December 24, 2010 at 4:33 pm

I am a (apparently) healthy 28 year old female. I never really knew my father’s family very well but learned today for the first time that my father’s sister has MS, and so did my grandmother (father’s mother). To create a stranger twist, my first cousin (aunt’s only daughter) has Lupus, as well as some other auto-immune diseases. This has all scared me, as you can understand, and I have been online tonight trying to do some research on whether I need to be afraid for my future or not. My father did not have MS but then again I know it is not as common in men. I wonder if I should be as concerned about a parents’sibling having the disease as much as I would be concerned if my own parent did??
I would love ANY opinions out there from anyone that has experience with this, but particularly from any MD’s or experts of any sort that may see this.
Also, I might add that, although this may be trivial, both my aunt and her mother were at one point very heavy drinkers and were treated for alcoholism. Any connection?? My father’s family in general has always abused themselves and been very unhealthy.
I appreciate any answers.

Risk Factors of Breast Cancer

  • Posted on January 12, 2010 at 4:06 am

Risk Factors of Breast Cancer

There are certain risk factors of breast cancer that is important to know. Your age can play a part in developing breast cancer. If you are over fifty years of age or older you are more likely to develop breast cancer then if you are a younger woman. Other risks factors that make you a higher risk are if you had your first period before you were twelve years of age or have began menopause in your fifties.

If you had children at a later age or if you never had any children at all. These are all risk factors of breast cancer. If your sister, daughter or mother has had breast cancer in their lifetime your risk of breast cancer will be higher. Your family history is an important factor to look at when it comes to knowing how great your risk factor may be for breast cancer.

If you have had previous breast biopsies that have come back abnormal you may be a higher risk. If you have had any type of breast diseases you could also be at risk for breast cancer. Weight is a big factor especially after menopause so it is important to gain control of your weight and live a healthier lifestyle. If you have inherited certain genes this can be a risk factor for developing breast cancer. All of these things should be taken into consideration for your risk factors.

Some other risk factors may be a diet that is high in saturated fat. You should make it a point to cut back on saturated fats in your diet and eat healthier foods such as more fruits and vegetables. Your diet should be healthy in order to lower your risk factor of developing breast cancer.

Another risk factor may be the use of oral contraceptives. This is something you should discuss with your doctor to find out what is best for you.

The lack of exercise is another risk factor. It is important to make sure that you have enough physical activity in your life to stay physically fit and have a healthy body. If you drink alcohol more then one drink per day can also be a risk factor for you in developing breast cancer.

Getting CPR For Marriage In Crisis

  • Posted on July 2, 2009 at 9:30 pm

A marriage in crisis is difficult to handle as it seems that what was once full of life is now suffering and on the brink of dying. When you are dating, new love seems to have a life of it’s own. Everything being so new feels like a new life has begun has the two of you have started a “new life” together.

Getting married was the right thing to do at that time and it made a lot of sense. But when times are difficult because of the problems that you had this might wear you out. If you dont want your marriage to end then you need to take the steps to keep it alive.

Get Counseling:

The solution to a marriage in trouble is quite easy to deal with. Going to a marriage counsellor can definitely help you understand what both of you were doing wrong and what you need to work on to rebuild your relationship. Counselling will help you appreciate each other.

Marriage counseling will also help you find better ways to express yourself in such a way that you don’t come across as attacking each other. It could very well be, though, that one of you has some serious issues that is putting your love and relationship at risk. For those issues you may want to get therapy on your own. It may be hard to do because you will have to swallow your pride but if you are serious about saving the marriage in crisis, you will want and need to do this.

Get Some Perspective:

If your marriage is in trouble it is vital if you can get some perspective on the situation that you are in. A marriage counsellor can give you their points of view regarding the relationship that can help you resolve your issues.

From where you are standing things may look pretty clear. However, once you are able to see from another angle, things that you couldn’t understand before may make a lot of sense. Getting perspectives from other angles and vantage points will really be helpful in helping you fully understand what is happening so that you can then save the marriage in crisis.

Find a Resolution:

You begin to get another perception on the issues that you have on hand. Again having a marriage counsellor to give you a different perspective will give you ideas on how to restore you relationship. Have a plan in hand to get started with your mission to save your marriage.

Now that you have a lot of ideas about fixing your marriage, make sure that you act on it now and dont put things off. This will only worsen the situation.

Don’t sit back and watch your marriage fail. Take the necessary action to identify the factors that contribute to your broken relationship. Save it by resolving to do what is needed to make it right.

How to Have a Wonderful Sleep? Identify the Problems of Insomnia

  • Posted on July 2, 2009 at 11:47 am

Insomnia has become a problem so common that there are already many different ‘solutions’ to tackle this problem. People always tend to work on their own ways to treat this disease without telling anyone, many people have come out with different ‘solutions’ to this problem.

However, as we know that people are not perfect and very often will make mistakes. The “solutions” which I mentioned also not being excluded from this criterion.

What are the problems of people suffering from insomnia will commit?

1. Drinking alcohols before sleep.

Although drinking a glass of wine before bed gives you a hot and warm feeling, and it seems to be a good idea to enhance your sleep. However, it will do the opposite and dehydrate your body, making it more likely to be awake with severe headache and have a thirst for water. The hang-over feeling is often even worse than a sleepless night. One should NEVER combine Alcohol with sleeping pills as it is extremely toxic and may sometimes be fatal.

For me, I would strongly recommend a deep sleep formula instead of a pill. This is because it doesn’t only give you a short term “tackle” of your insomnia problem, but a long term. Very often the normal sleeping pills will cure your sleeplessness for a particular period (most often only 1 night). This Wonderful Sleep Deep Sleep Formula is a natural sleep enhance formula which will induce a natural sleep.

2. Eating lots of food, sugar, or candy before going to bed in order to make yourself sleepy or tired.

Doing this does not solve the “cause” of insomnia, which is a weakened sleep system and a non-responsive “natural sleep response”. You may feel sleepy, but you will still wake up Un-rested. Nearly all the sugar you eat is turned into fat by your body, will in turn can create risk of Sleep Apnea. To give a brief introduction to Sleep Apnea, it is the obstructive behaviour at which will affect one’s sleep in the night, the most common symptoms of sleep apnea which can be easily observed, is snoring.

Hence, if you or your family members do snore, do look out for this Sleep Apnea, as one of the cause of this is Obesity.

3. Forcing yourself to Sleep

Very often when we watch the TV program, we can see someone having trouble to sleep at night just close their eyes strongly to ‘force’ themselves to sleep. By doing this it will only increase your anxiety and frustration, weakening the “natural sleep response”. When anxiety and frustration arises, your mind will be keep thinking and repeat thinking, which causes the clearing of your mind during sleep to be more difficult, which will further disrupt your sleeping process.

4. Induce Sleepliness by reading books and watching TV

Watching TV will not only hinders you from solving this problem, but making the problem worse. It will keep your mind active, and diminishes the “natural sleep response” in our body. This supports the negative anchor in your mind that the process of falling asleep is something you have to AVOID. So by doing this actually you are telling the body that DON’T SLEEP!!!! It is even worse!

5. Stop doing sports and exercises due to insufficient sleep

A person who suffers in lack of sleep very often related to lack of exercise. The lack of exercise plays a vital role in chronic Insomnia. Not exercising due to Insomnia only makes the Insomnia Cycle stronger; not exercising weakens the natural sleep response, as well as the sleep system. Not exercising weakens your metabolic rate, weakening your heart (which may cause cardiovascular diseases), creating respiratory problems, making you more likely to wake up during the night, or suffer from sleep apnea.

Change Your Lifestyle And Become Fit

  • Posted on July 2, 2009 at 7:15 am

Your lifestyle is the way that you live your life. Although each of these other elements that we’ve already talked about is very important parts of your lifestyle, they are not everything.

Each decision you make throughout the course of the day plays a role in your fitness. Unlike the other chapters, this one will be structured a bit different. Each of these lifestyle considerations is important and each offers a unique spin on the quality of life you will lead. Improve them, and physical fitness increases.

Smoking, Drinking And Drugs
Each of those three things, smoking, drinking and drugs, is a problem for your health and your ability to make it through the life you have. You probably already know the risks of what these things can do to your life, but you may not realize the extent at which it takes to improve them.

For example, smoking will eat away at your lungs and will cause cancer. There are no ifs about it. It will cause cancer eventually in your lungs.

But, smoking is something that you can stop, even if it is one of the hardest things you will have to do. To improve your fitness, find a method to stop smoking and do it. You will find that your health increases, your energy increases, your stress levels DO go down and you can feel better about the life you are living.

When you quit early enough, your body can repair the damage that you have done to your lungs. This can only happen if you stop soon enough, though.

Drinking and drugs are just as bad. Each time that you consume too much alcohol that makes you drunk or you take illegal drugs, you destroy your body slowly and methodically. You kill brain cells, you put your life at risk and you destroy the organs in your body. Some damage can be fixed through healing over time, others can’t.

To improve your lifestyle and to extend your life, you need to remove these problems from it. Smoking and drugs are simply a no no. Drinking alcohol isn’t nearly as bad for you when you drink it in moderation and only when you are drinking low concentrations of alcohol such as in wine rather than in hard liquor or beer.

Sleep

Do you sleep? No, we mean actually lying down and sleeping for 7 to 9 hours per night? Do you wake up rested? If not, then you aren’t getting the right amount of sleep for health. Your lifestyle fitness requires that you get quality sleep each night.

Why is sleep so important? There are actually several reasons. For one, sleep is the body’s time to relax and to recoup what it’s done all day. You need this time for your mind to. It’s the way that your mind works through problems. It’s the time that your body heals from the exertions of the day.

It’s a time to restart, refresh and give yourself the best chance at improving tomorrow.

Those that don’t get enough sleep are not capable of performing at their best physical or mental level. They aren’t able to improve the level at which they can function and they make bad mistakes. Stress hurts more, physical ailments hinder you more when you don’t get enough sleep.

If you are having problems with sleeping, there are many ways that you can overcome them.

• Reducing stress levels during the day is helpful as is working out the stresses that you can’t get rid of.

• Try to go to sleep at the same time everyday and give yourself as much time as necessary to feel rested.

• Don’t do stimulating things before bed such as watching television or working on a project.

• Don’t eat before bed, at least two hours beforehand.

If you are facing problems with insomnia or are struggling to get to sleep, talk to your doctor about it. There may be an underlying medical condition that could be causing it.

While it used to be that there were only sleeping medications that were addicting, today there are many that are not like that which can offer you a night’s rest. Don’t use these unless your doctor has Okayed them for you, though!
