my daughter was hit by a drunk driver a few days before the tragedy of those two baby girls and nothing was done to make her pay the consequnses for drinking and driving

Would this seem rude?

My youngest just got a new toddler bed for Christmas. She got a toddler bed instead of a twin because due to the space in her room. Anyways, I was wondering how I would bring it up to an elderly neighbor? This lady is in her 60′s and is raising her 4 grandkids because her daughter overdosed on heroin last year. The youngest grandchild is close to my oldest daughters age. Would it be rude if I just blurted out that I have a toddler bed to get rid of? I don’t want her to think she’s some kind of charity case because that’s not it. I just didn’t like the bed my daughter had so I bought her a new one. Another thing, the little boy is close to three. Would he be too old for a toddler bed?
This lady has come over to ask my fiance for a few cigarettes. She won’t take them unless she gives him 50 cents or a dollar. Even when I tell her it’s fine, she makes me take what she gives.
