How to Have a Wonderful Sleep? Identify the Problems of Insomnia

  • Posted on July 2, 2009 at 11:47 am

Insomnia has become a problem so common that there are already many different ‘solutions’ to tackle this problem. People always tend to work on their own ways to treat this disease without telling anyone, many people have come out with different ‘solutions’ to this problem.

However, as we know that people are not perfect and very often will make mistakes. The “solutions” which I mentioned also not being excluded from this criterion.

What are the problems of people suffering from insomnia will commit?

1. Drinking alcohols before sleep.

Although drinking a glass of wine before bed gives you a hot and warm feeling, and it seems to be a good idea to enhance your sleep. However, it will do the opposite and dehydrate your body, making it more likely to be awake with severe headache and have a thirst for water. The hang-over feeling is often even worse than a sleepless night. One should NEVER combine Alcohol with sleeping pills as it is extremely toxic and may sometimes be fatal.

For me, I would strongly recommend a deep sleep formula instead of a pill. This is because it doesn’t only give you a short term “tackle” of your insomnia problem, but a long term. Very often the normal sleeping pills will cure your sleeplessness for a particular period (most often only 1 night). This Wonderful Sleep Deep Sleep Formula is a natural sleep enhance formula which will induce a natural sleep.

2. Eating lots of food, sugar, or candy before going to bed in order to make yourself sleepy or tired.

Doing this does not solve the “cause” of insomnia, which is a weakened sleep system and a non-responsive “natural sleep response”. You may feel sleepy, but you will still wake up Un-rested. Nearly all the sugar you eat is turned into fat by your body, will in turn can create risk of Sleep Apnea. To give a brief introduction to Sleep Apnea, it is the obstructive behaviour at which will affect one’s sleep in the night, the most common symptoms of sleep apnea which can be easily observed, is snoring.

Hence, if you or your family members do snore, do look out for this Sleep Apnea, as one of the cause of this is Obesity.

3. Forcing yourself to Sleep

Very often when we watch the TV program, we can see someone having trouble to sleep at night just close their eyes strongly to ‘force’ themselves to sleep. By doing this it will only increase your anxiety and frustration, weakening the “natural sleep response”. When anxiety and frustration arises, your mind will be keep thinking and repeat thinking, which causes the clearing of your mind during sleep to be more difficult, which will further disrupt your sleeping process.

4. Induce Sleepliness by reading books and watching TV

Watching TV will not only hinders you from solving this problem, but making the problem worse. It will keep your mind active, and diminishes the “natural sleep response” in our body. This supports the negative anchor in your mind that the process of falling asleep is something you have to AVOID. So by doing this actually you are telling the body that DON’T SLEEP!!!! It is even worse!

5. Stop doing sports and exercises due to insufficient sleep

A person who suffers in lack of sleep very often related to lack of exercise. The lack of exercise plays a vital role in chronic Insomnia. Not exercising due to Insomnia only makes the Insomnia Cycle stronger; not exercising weakens the natural sleep response, as well as the sleep system. Not exercising weakens your metabolic rate, weakening your heart (which may cause cardiovascular diseases), creating respiratory problems, making you more likely to wake up during the night, or suffer from sleep apnea.

  • Posted on July 2, 2009 at 11:47 am

Stress can be a factor that can deteriorate your health faster than any disease. Many people have suffered physically when dealing with problems that plague their lives. Since stress can affect you physically, mentally and emotionally, we can say that you won’t be safe until you get your problems under control with the proper stress management technique.

Learn to read the signs

In most cases, stress usually start mentally rather than physically. Since both are linked and work in tandem of your existence, we can say that the more affected you are with your problems, the more negative effect you will feel on your body.

To deal with this, you need to take extra care in observing your own body when being under stressed. Signs of heavy breathing, sweating, having trouble sleeping, or some aches and pains – they are all signs that your body is reaching its limit in coping with your stress.

There are plenty of techniques that you can take to help deal with stress and reduce the effect on your health. Breathing exercise can help regulate your oxygen intake and will help you relax. If you are having trouble sleeping, meditation can help you relax to the point of putting you to sleep.

You can also take in sleeping pills or anti-depressant medicines to help you along – these might be hard to come by since these are addictive if you keep taking it in. You might need to consult your doctor for prescriptions and if its safe to take these in.

Music therapy can also help you relax if you want to get a good night sleep after a stressful day at work. Since your mind is the problem when you are having problem sleeping, you need to make sure that you focus on keeping your thoughts in line and not get the better of you.

The adage “Music can soothe the savage beast” may very well work in your favor in this case. Go for nature rhythms or instrumental ones since these have a steady flow and can relax the mind and put you too sleep.

Eat well and eat right

Women tends to be more prone to eating than men when in the throes of stress. You need to keep an eye out on your diet and make sure you don’t go way past the limits that your body can take. Dieting is part of stress management and is routinely observed to keep your health as normal as possible.

Since eating habits tend to be erratice when you are having problems, you need to be careful in what you take in. Stay abreast of your weight and girth to determine if your eating habits are getting out of hand. Also, you need to be more conscious on what foods you take, make sure that these are healthy ones and stay away from fast foods or junk foods.

Start taking in vegetable salads with a healthy dose of some extra virgin olive oil instead of burgers and fries. Fruits can be prepared in plenty of ways to satisfy your cravings which is a healthy alternative to junk foods.

The secret to keep a healthy lifestyle during a time of stress to be more sensitive to your body. Try to be aware of possible signs that will indicate that your body is falling apart. The more you manage your stress, the more healthy your body would be.

Coping With Bereavement; Is There Anything Which Can Help?

  • Posted on July 1, 2009 at 6:41 pm

The movie “Gran Torino” begins, and ends, with a funeral. There is mention of the bitter and sweet aspects of death, and questions as to whether death is an end or a beginning. Some of us believe in reincarnation or at least an after-life, whilst others do not.

No matter what your beliefs are about the after-life, it is hard for those left in this world to feel happy when trying to cope with the loss of someone who you dearly love. I can still see my mother’s expression during her mother’s, my grand-mothers, funeral. I can clearly remember how strong she was, how she talked about the funeral ceremony being one of celebration as opposed to loss; celebration at a wonderful and long life, and a beautiful person. These words belied the tears held back in my mother’s eyes. She was determined not to cry that day and she didn’t, not then; she cried beforehand and afterwards but not then. It was her tribute to her mother.

I only discovered in recent years that my mother has taken sleeping pills ever since my father died. Sleepless nights are all too familiar to those who are doing their best to cope with loss. Memories, worries and fears circle around one’s mind and your emotions are turned inside-out and upside down. You turn into yourself and don’t feel that anyone can help. All you can do is take one day at a time and focus on the practicalities of day to day life. Days seem to pass in a complete blur, until eventually you realize that you have got through it; it is as if you have moved through a dark and damp tunnel and have finally reached daylight once again.

No-one really knows how we get through; hence the saying that “time heals”. Slowly we begin to focus more upon the present and slowly our emotions lift as we notice more about life than the grief associated with loss. We get more and more used to doing things alone, and more confident in our ability to move forwards. This just seems to happen as our natural instinct for survival takes over.

Can we do anything to sooth ourselves during this period of grief and loss? There are certain things which we can do. We can use hypnosis to help relax and sleep and sooth our bodies and our minds. Hypnosis is in itself a state of relaxation and so it will teach you how to relax, even when you are at your most anxious or most full of grief. You can learn to use hypnosis with the help of hypnosis downloads and train your mind to relax easily and quickly in this manner.

Hypnosis is the state between wake and sleep, and so by learning to use hypnosis you will learn how to sleep normally and naturally once more. Nobody knows how to go to sleep; it just happens. In learning hypnosis, however, you will learn to relax into a state which naturally leads to sleep. When in hypnosis your body relaxes and so does your conscious mind. Hypnosis provides a welcome break from those thoughts which would otherwise been circling around inside your mind; it’s like taking a mini-holiday, or having a mental massage. This ability to sooth your mind and change your emotional state is invaluable when you are coping with bereavement.

Coming to terms with the loss of a loved one is difficult for everyone and we all respond in our own unique way, experiencing a myriad of emotions ranging from disbelief, to anger, grief and loneliness. We have to find a way in which to rationalize it and come to terms with it and move forwards into the next stage of our own lives.

Hypnosis allows contact with your inner mind, and suggestions can be made to give you a feeling of calmness, safety and security, as well as the confidence to believe in your own ability to cope and to rebuild your life. This does not interfere with the natural grieving process; rather it helps you to cope with it better.

You can purchase hypnosis downloads designed to assist you in dealing with your emotions, and in coping as well as possible as you rebuild your life. There are also downloads available which will help you to cope on a more spiritual level; to help you to feel that your loved one is safe in the spirit world and is always there to comfort and guide you. You can decide for yourself which approach is most appropriate for you, but everyone will find that at the very least, hypnosis downloads will help you to relax, and to switch off for a short while, and also to sleep more easily.
