Can I receive assistance from child services if i file for temporary custody?

The child is my 2 year old third cousin, I am in New York (Bronx County) and the child is in another county in the southwest region of New York state. She is my cousin through way of her father which has been incarcerated for over 2 years (repeat offender)

So here is some brief information on the situation. The little girls mom has been in and out of rehabilitation battling alcoholism for over 25 years. She already has 2 older children removed from her care many years ago. About a year ago, the child was placed in foster care since mom had a relapse. I found out 5 months later at which point i got involved to try to foster her while mom received the care she needed to eventually get her back. My family and I (I have a girlfriend of 4 years and a step daughter who is 5 and a half) have made several trips to inquire about her case and situation and most importantly, to try to motivate “mom” and spend time with the little girl.

Since my 2 year old cousin has been with her current foster mother for a going on a year in a couple of months and due to the fact, that mom is not showing as much progress as she should, i am thinking of filing for custody before her foster man has rights to adopt her and frankly, can do and take my cousin away from all of us.

My question is, when i file for custody, can any of the counties assistst me financially with the baby. I’m the only one working currently and my though i make “decent” money, i have entirely too many expenses to take on the additional responsibility of a child. I’m torn though because i know she belongs with family.

What steps do i need to take to try and get temporary custody of my 2 other grandchildren?

Currently my daughter and her boyfriend and 3 children live with me and my son. I have custody of one of her children who is 16 months old. I would like to get temporary custody of my other 2 grandchildren who are 6 months old and 3 years old due to both parents getting drunk 3 times a week and smoking marijuana. The sheriff’s have been called out 5 times in 1 month due to there attitudes. When my daughter passes out I get up to feed the baby and for example this morning my daughter and her boyfriend had used my vehicle to supposely to go shopping. Got a phone call that my daughter and her boyfriend were intoxicated and the 3 children were with them. I had my mother to take me to pick up my vehicle and the 16 month old. I do not want CPS involved cause once the children get in the system it will be hard to get out of. I have a full-time job and have to be at work at 6:30 a.m. I do have daycare provided. This would also be a Native American Family.

How does My cousin sign temporary custody of her daughter to me and my husband while she goes into rehab?

Both her and the babies father are Heroin addicts. The father is no where to be found. She has agreed to enter a inpatient program. My husband and I have agreed to take custody and provide a great environment for her daughter. We are both foster care certified for NY since we have always forseen this happening at some point. How do we legally gain custody with the least intervention as possible? We would like to get her into pre school ASAP and her mom into treatment.

What happens when temporary custody is given to a married couple and one of them die?

My husband (we are getting divorced) and I gave his parents temp. custody of our five year old daughter b/c of various problems with addiction and alcoholism, and now my mother-in-law has been diagnosed with a potentially fatal type of cancer. Concerned about my childs well-being and if I could get her back b/c of this situation
my husband has a girlfriend and I want to avoid the chance that they will get her. They tell my daughter to call his girlfriend mommy, and needless to say,we do not like each other.
