Am I wasting my time?

  • Posted on December 27, 2010 at 11:24 am

I have been with my boyfriend for 2.5 years, we have a 1.5 year old daughter together. We are both still living with parents, to wait until we are engaged to buy a house together. We have gone to look at engagement rings at least 4 times now (the first time over a year ago) but he has since admitted (when he was intoxicated) that he is scared to get married because of the divorce his parents went through. When he is sober he won’t really talk about it. (He rarely ever drinks which is why I just recently found this out I guess.) Since then I have tried talking to him about it, since we had even talked about a special date to plan for our wedding, and I can’t seem to get him to talk about it, or even what is making him nervous about the whole thing.

I guess my question is am I being impatient even though he led me to believe that this was in the near future? Or am I wasting my time hoping for a future with someone that is commitment-phobic? I can’t imagine a future without him, but this is something that really concerns me, having a partner that is committed enough to want to marry me is very important to me
He’ll be 26 this year by the way. Not a teenager or anything.

HOw do you keep from wasting formula?

  • Posted on October 11, 2010 at 11:24 am

Let’s face it. Formula is expensive! My daughter recently started drinking more than 3 oz at a time. At night before bed she drinks 7-8 oz. So the problem is, she never drinks the same amount! Sometimes I think she will be hungry since she hasnt eaten in 4 hours and I make 6 oz and she only drinks 4 and refuses the rest. I’d rather make too much and have her not finish it than make too little and have her still be hungry. But still, I feel like I keep dumping the rest of the formula and I am literally throwing money down the drain.

Does any one else have this problem? Any tips on how I can cut down on the waste? What do you do?

And I know I will get a couple “you should be breastfeeding” or something like that. She was breastfed til she was 6.5 mo. I stopped because my milk was drying up.
